Venting time. lol. 7-6 record in a huge 20 team league..... and now bounced in the first round playoffs despite leading the league in scoring and having this lineup prior to DeSean Jackson's IR. Even had a crazy 150 point week. No league should be over 16 teams. Lost one game b/c I couldn't get a fuggin QB during my bye week even though I started the season with 2. Dumb move to pick up Mike Thomas as Jackson's replacement, but with 20 teams, scraps are all you get. Should've polled you guys for last minute WR options.
WTF should I play next week: Should I trust RG3 even if he plays? Should I play Alexander over Cruz or Cobb or Moreno????
Just looks like he did a great job drafting and on the waiver-wire. Brees, Gronk, Richardson, and Cruz look like his top picks. If I had to guess... Brees, Gronk, Cruz, and then Richardson were his first four picks barring a trade. Took a chance on a lot of rookies and it paid off.
Those are the picks I'm talking about. In ThePhins league, 2 of those guys are gone in the 1st round and the other 2 by the first pick of round 3. In my 20 team league, if you had a top 4 pick, you only got 1 of the 4. By my round 3 pick, 18 running backs were already gone..... and by round 5, 16 QBs were gone. Nothing against Stringer of course b/c he drafted and signed a damn good team. Seems like a 10 team league with Stringer lucking out with last pick of the 1st round. Brees-Gronk.... then Richardson-Cruz? The tough part is figuring out who Stringer decided to take first with each pair of picks despite the order not mattering. lol
I'd guess a 10 team league but I would say he got lucky on Cruz falling and Richardson likely fell because of his injury during preseason that had people very worried.
Its a 10 team league. Passing TDs are worth 6 pts. I had 3rd pick... went Brees-Gronk-Richardson-Martin-Cruz-RG3 Whats funny is that I got Victor Cruz at pick 43, but almost got real lucky. AJ Green went #42. Either way, my dilemma this week remains. Can I trust RG3? Should I put Alexander in my lineup? EDIT: another thing to consider is that with it being 6pts for passing TDs and starting 2 QBs, QBs go fast. 10 QBs were taken by end of round 2.
Jesus, a 20 team league, that is ridiculous. I think the phins league is a lot with 14 teams. 12 is the perfect number, enough to make it so rosters aren't stacked and little enough so you can actually pick up players on the wire that contribute.
That makes it even worse..... but then again it is a 2 QB league so I'm sure a higher than normal amount of QBs picked early pushed these guys down further. Might be tempted to start Alexander over Moreno, especially with Carolina having a handful of games allowing decent individual point totals to WRs...... and Moreno's nice game last week came against Oakland so I'd take it with a grain of salt. Tough call though. Could be a wash. I made the mistake of sitting Cruz once b/c I thought the Jets would bottle him up, and they did.... except for a 99 yard TD. lol Not sure RG3 can be trusted on a bum wheel if that is the case. I wouldn't want to find our the hard way. You already have Brees vs Tampa, so I'd personally take the conservative route with Luck as your team on paper doesn't seem in dire need of a massive game from 1 player to have a chance to win..... but then again I don't know what your opponent looks like. Edit: just saw your edit.
yeah, 20 is wayyyy too much. Lose a guy to injury and you're in trouble.... lose 2 for a week and you're basically finished. I think 12 is perfect as well but I don't mind 14 in ThePhins considering return yards expand the pool a bit. What's a shame is having ThePhins league pushed to 14 only to have 3 absent managers, especially when other posters like Conuficus wanted in but the league was full. ThePhins league should be one that all of us look forward to and enjoy staying active in. WADR to any non-active GMs, it's only fair to have them banned from here on out. Gotta be frustrating being a game or two out of 4th place with 2 or 3 weeks left knowing the teams ahead of you face a few absent managers.
If I play Alexander, it probably won't be for Moreno, but likely in place of Cobb. I'm leaning toward Luck right now. Might put RG3 in if he's practicing fully and looks like his knee won't be an issue. My opponent is pretty tough though. Brady, Manning, Ridley, BJGE, Forte, Demarius Thomas, Boldin, and Jimmy Graham. I like my matchups better than his, but he still has a good team. Going to be close, and I don't want to spend a year listening to him talk **** about beating me .
Yeah that's true. I'm new to this whole defensive players and return yardage thing, my draft was f'd up but I'm still lookin' good surprisingly. Yeah I saw that, sucks and I'm playing one of those managers this week lol
Damn. That is a tough matchup. Battle of a couple titans. Hurts not having Gronk balancing out Graham. I'm so accustomed to having Cobb with return yards factored in (leads our league in WR-RB scoring) that he's always an afterthought. IDK, do you think Cobb could be in for a big day with tighter coverage on the outside pushing the ball his way more often, especially with no Urlacher inside to worry about?
You put up 278 last week so that's nothing to sneeze at. I enjoy the defensive players and return yardage added in. Boik did a good job of setting up the points. Only thing I'd change is boosting the sacks a point so that 3-4 OLBs can compete with 4-3 guys.
Pick one (Rice is my unquestioned RB1) Moreno vs Baltimore Morris vs Cleveland Lawfirm vs Philly Pick three Mike Williams vs New Orleans Lance Moore vs Tampa Bay Chris Givens vs Minnesota Brian Hartline vs Jacksonville Stevie Johnson vs Seattle Jordy Nelson vs Chicago (injury up in the air) Waiver Options Justin Blackmon vs Miami Jason Avant vs Cleveland It's 1 PPR scoring... otherwise pretty standard, 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards and 6 points per touchdown.
One game away from SB in both my leagues...crucial decisions. Non PPR Flex Green-Ellis tonight vs Philly Denario Alexander home vs Car Other league #3 WR...PPR A.Johnson vs Colts R.Wayne vs Texans
I like the Law Firm for the first one... For the second one....I like AJ..... okay I rode DeMarco last week over Bryce Brown and it paid off......I have an even bigger dilemma this week bro...... I would have the same dilemma as last week but there is a new twist..... It is either ---D-Mo against Pitt in Big D ---Bryce Brown against Cinny in Philly I would have needed to decided that one position, however that is because I play Dez in the flex....and now Dez is hurt, and needs surgery....he says he wants to play but how effective will he be with a splint on his hand.... here is the kicker....I have to decide by TONIGHT, because Philly goes tonight.....btw Thursday night football is the worst...especially for Fantasy..... I could play Bryce in the RB slot, and if Dez goes, I would have to pick between Dez/DeMarco in the flex on Sunday.... Thoughts?
I think you nailed it. You gotta roll with Bryce tonight then likely Murray Sunday. Dez may not even play, and even if he does I dont see him being anything more than a decoy of sorts.
I have been doing some research...Pitt secondary is pretty bad right now, they are down both of there starting CB's....and Dez looks like he is a go.... Now devil's advocate for Bryce Brown is..... If Johnson and Still are out I am rolling Brown out there...
ahhh man......it is going to be hardpressed to sit Dez..... Rule Number 1 of Fantasy that you have to abide by is this..... 1) PLAY YOUR BEST PLAYERS ALWAYS, REGARDLESS OF MATCHUP OR ANYTHING ELSE. I have been burned alot not playing the best players....
Big week as we all know... Who do I go with here, I sat Lloyd last week and it screwed me even though I pulled out the win... Lloyd @ San Fran Hartline @ Jacksonville Golden Tate @ Buffalo Thanks for the advise, I can make it to the super bowl for the first time lol
Damn man thats a tough one on both parts... hmmm I hate thursday night games and Danario has been ballin. I think I would go Alexander, he's established himself as the number one and Philly has been stuffing the run the last 5 weeks. I think since its a PPR and IMO the colts are going to be playing from behind you go with Wayne because he's consistently getting targets. But still that's tough because Andre has turned it up as well.
Fin-O you played the Law Firm rightttttt????? I benched Brown thank God.... oh well Dez I am riding you for a chance to get into the Championship.... I. AM. RIDING. YOU.
I did, he got me 19 out scoring both my opponents players. (Maclin, AJ Green) just need my guys to not suck and I think I'm SB bound in that league.
Need 1RB, 1WR, and 1Flex out of: Ryan Mathews vs. Carolina Steven Ridley vs. San Fransisco Darren McFadden vs. Kansas City Dez Byrant vs. Pittsburgh Danario Alexander vs. Carolina
I think I'd go McFadden, Bryant, and Alexander. Ryan Mathews has been a huge disappointment thus far and I don't expect much out of him on a week to week basis. Stevan Ridley has a brutal match-up and I doubt the Patriots have too much success running the ball. Darren McFadden has been a focal point of the Raiders offense and the Chiefs are giving up around 150ypg or so... I like McFadden. He ran for 114 yards as well as 4 catches for 23 yards last time they met. McFadden is a guy that can score on any given moment so I'd trust his big play ability over Mathews/Ridley and I think he has the best match-up. If this is a PPR league, then starting Danario Alexander and Dez Bryant at the WR/FLEX is a no brainer to me. Even if it isn't, I think I'd still start both. They have combined for nearly 800 yards and 10 touchdowns the last 4 games which is absolutely NUTS. The Steelers secondary has been suspect as of late and I think Bryant will make at least one big play for the Cowboys. It sounds like he will play too so I wouldn't worry too much about him being out. Alexander is facing a defense that can give up the big play... and I think this game will be a little more high scoring than the other games around the league.
The rumor about Mathews is he may eclipse his career high in single game touches with Ronnie Brown out. Turner has always been a bell cow back kind of coach so for that reason I have to say go Mathews at RB. Alexander vs Carolina is kinda tricky because Carolina typically does not give up a lot of fantasy points to receivers because they get run on. But to me this has shootout written on it. Go Danario imo. Bryant vs McFadden is trickiest of all. Cowboys have a good run D, Steelers have a top 2 pass D right now even after getting lit up by Rivers last week. If Ike Taylor plays imo you sit Bryant and take a shot with McFadden. If taylor sits it could be like last week with Pitt giving up some hefty passing yards and taking Pitts best Cb out of the game. Ridley is the guy Im not considering if Im in your shoes. Of course that means he probably goes for 100 and 1 TD
IMO Tate if those are your 3 best options. Might not hurt to check and see if Braylon Edwards or Jeremy Kerley is available.... Tennessee's pass D is bad and even Sanchez may look ok vs them. Or better yet Jonathan Baldwin vs Oakland. Someone has to catch a few passes for KC right? Bowe is IR'ed.
