Ardoucheo Salobtheknobo is doing what he always he does....his best impersonation of Jason Cole...who does what he always does....his best impersonation of a melting pile of ****.
nobody knows for sure that Ireland/Philbin/Tannhill will lead us to the promised land... But I think we all know for sure that Salguero will unfortunately still be writing for the Herald rather than promoted to a national gig. Such a negative turd.
Another hack job by a Miami Herald reporter... saying the glass is half empty,of course the next day. They will write it's half filled and tell you why in another crappy article.
Its typical hackery from the douche bag. He starts the article with explaining that none of the 3 are going anywhere. But then devotes the rest of the article to such negative crap, that you believe all 3 are on the hot seat.
That wasn't as bad as the title suggests. He basically said all three are unproven commodities, while trying to get hits/sell papers. I have a neutral feeling about Jeff, if he blows this year he'll prolly never be a GM again, Philbin I think is a plus who just seems more prepared/intellegent than Tony to me, and IMHO Tanne has a bright future. Who knows tho. I thought Shula's last year was at least going to be AFC champions or bust. Here's hoping we take advantage of a great opportunity in the off season.
To say that this kid is no Edwin Pope is the understatement of the year. After you've read through the whole article, you realize that what Captain Obvious has said is that we seem to have made some initial progress at QB, GM and HC, but no one can predict the future. No sh*t, Sherlock. Now tell us something we don't know. Yet another wasted column.
Its not the content I mind, its the fact that this is obvious, and obvious for a lot of franchises. Unless you're a team that always wins and is always around come playoff time - like the Packers, Patriots, even Saints or Giants (even though they're both missing the playoffs, they're constant contenders) you have uncertain/unproven people in your organization. Until the team starts posting winning records and winning playoff games, they haven't proven crap. Don't need a big time article to say that.
What would've made it better is if he would've compared that kind of situation to that of other teams, where that kind of uncertainty at all three of those positions is probably at least somewhat rare. I suspect that almost all other teams have more certainty at at least one of those positions. You establish meaning through comparison and contrast, and if you make the points he made about the Dolphins' situation without comparing it to that of other teams, you're still left wondering what it all "means."
There's a difference between saying the have "huge question marks" and saying they are unproven commodities. Huge question marks has just enough negative implication to it, that "haters" have another rallying call. He's essentially poking the hate badgers with a stick, because they click and click and click. He does this because he lacks the skill and respectability of an Edwin Pope but has all the talentless Jets lust of Jason Cole.
Armando is a primary example of why newspapers are not bought or read anymore. Aside from the fact its an outdated medium, the reporting just sucks.
It has much more to do with the Internet than Armando's style of writing.. much, much more. And I really dislike Armando and I'm saying this.
Armando is a self professed fan of the Redskins not the Dolphins........Enough said. I stopped reading his dribble years ago.
here's an article from Omar (speaking of bad writers). just a recap on the last time we had some serious cap space and wasted it on Grove, Bell, Crowder, Carey and Gibril Wilson. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-miami-dolphins-final-game-1230-20121228,0,7839763.story hopefully, Ireland has matured and learned from his mistakes. unlike all the Ireland bashers, I believe that anyone intelligent has the capacity to learn from his mistakes, especially ones made at the beginning of their tenure. so, rather than cry about Ireland's past mistakes and ignoring his successes, I can only focus on what he will do with his new opportunity to get us to the playoffs.
Didn't read the article, but how can any of you say that any of those 3 positions are not question marks after this season? Philbin and Tannehill didn't do terrible but also haven't proven they are the definitive answer. And let me just laugh heartily in the face of anyone who doesn't think Ireland is a question mark. Unless your position is that he has proven he's awful.
A better headline: "Dolphins still have huge question marks at beat writer, columnist, and media room" Also, if you have someone for five years and still have huge question marks about them, then you don't actually have huge question marks about them, you're just not facing reality. No, he still is. Every single thing Salguero ever writes is "See? THIS INFERRED DEVELOPMENT MEANS I WAS RIGHT! I TOLD YOU MONTHS AGO!"
