    WR Position

FA : 3 big names here : Jennings, Wallace and Bowe...........but perhaps others big names will come with players salary cap cut like Boldin

My choice is here Jennings because : he is the cheaper, a solid leader in and on the field and he know the philbin system and philosophy + he character is without a doubt and he will help the more he can to groom his successor who will be drafted

Draft : Allen, Hunter, Hopkins, Patterson, Williams :

My choice : Hopkins and why : YAC very solid, solid hand, great effort guy and I think will be the better in Philbin system and for more cons , he have weigth and height

TE : seems more difficult hole than WR to fill this year !

FA : Bennett, Cook and perhaps Finley :

My choice : Bennett : I don't know why but this guy could really hep us, JMO but he have many con and not many negative with good coaching IMO

I will add that before that we must resign Fasano because without him if our new N° 1 TE go down to injury, that's a return to abyss

Draft : 3 names seems interting Ertz, Eifert, Reed :

My choice : Reed, because IMO all our 3 first pick must GO to WR CB and another CB or safetie (rambo) and Reed seems very good value in round 3 and not so much behind Ertz and Eifert in production our our system JMO.

Feel free to write your opinions, but please give them explain because it's like tthat than our beloved forum is so interesting.

    GO PHINS GO !

I think you sign Jennings, Cook, and Hartline, and maintain the "spread the ball around" mentality, rather than signing someone who stands to make a ton, which would send the message that he's the "go-to" guy. I think you also draft Patterson at #12 and trade back into the first round to draft Eifert.

I would like to resign Fasano and Hartline, and draft Eiffert and Robert woods...have no problem moving back into the first for Eiffert..

Let me get Dion Jordan or Sheldon Richardson at 12, sign Greg Jennings, and I'm a happy camper...would sacrifice two of those 5 picks for the trio of Richardson/Eiffert/Woods or Jordan/Eiffert/woods.

I think basically you need to come up with a wide receiver, a tight end, and a runningback(which I think goes way under the radar) this off-season. I think you've got a lot of flexibility in how you do it.

I think you end up signing Greg Jennings is the most likely, and best move, and from there I think you've got options. Re-signing Brian Hartline would also be quite nice.

Martellus Bennett I've warmed on, and I think gives you some flexibility. His ability to block and play in-line gives you flexibility to run a 3-wide receiver grouping heavily without having to substitute down frequently to run the ball more robustly, or it can let you run a more two-TE centered offense because you've got the hard part(a guy who can block and contribute as a receiver) already.

That's precisely why I like Bennett as well...... and is probably why NY won't let him leave considering their offense is 3-WR heavy with Cruz.

    1a. *Re-sign Hartline*

    1b. Mike Wallace
    2. Dustin Keller
    3. Stedman Bailey
    4. Big, tall, physical receiving TE (minimum requirements).

    -FA-

WR, Mike Wallace - There are a number of reasons I want to see this happen. Diametrically opposite of any WR on the roster. He's really the only F.A. That can come in to our offense and truly be a game changer. The man eats space as well as anyone in the NFL and threatens a defense deep better than anyone outside of Calvin Johnson. Miami went deep more than I have seen them in a long while, this season. Problem is, it was wasted on Hartline and occasionally Moore. Expensive? Maybe... But he's young and entering his prime, fantastic injury history, productive, and zero off the field problems. If we were willing to pay Marshall that fat contract, why be scared now? Could legitimately help take Tannehill to the next level. Only downside is physicality. He will not dominate a corner with power nor does he have the size to be a true red zone threat.

TE, Dustin Keller - Likely won't get a massive contract because Mark Sanchez is his QB. Really solid all around player. Would offer more athleticism and receiving ability than we've had in quite awhile. I wouldn't be upset to sign Fasano back, but I think Keller is an upgrade that could make the offense more dynamic while maintaining the ability to block when needed. Quite a decent set of athletic TE's with the Keller/Clay combination too.

    -Draft-

WR, Stedman Bailey - Not only the guy I want, but a guy I think Philbin would want. Despite his size, he's extremely physical, runs great routes, uses his body well, and attacks the football. Those Green bay receivers aren't very big outside of Jordy Nelson, so I'm not sure Miami will specifically want to target size with a WR anyway. Also, easier/cheaper to acquire (at this moment) in round 2, where I think Miami will start investing in the WR position.

TE, ??? - The only thing we would lack is a big physical receiver, who can dominate in the redzone. I have no idea what to think about Egnew. I didn't really expect him to contribute in year one that much. He's a 3rd round TE from a spread offense. Even Hernandez didn't leap in year one. However, he didn't contribute at all... In fact, we kept signing TE's mid-season. He looked lost/defeated on hard knocks every time he was on camera. Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn't. Then we have a report saying he's a ***** and won't make the team next year (hyperbole as of now, I think). If the coaches truly don't like him, then I want a TE in the draft.

I don't really know many of the prospects outside of Eifert and Ertz. Either one would be more than welcome. That said, I know CK has mentioned he likes Joesph Fauria. Sucks he's not playing in the E/W shrine game. At 6'7", the kid was a touchdown machine. Every 3.8 catches was a TD. Kind of reminds me of Jimmy Graham and his 17 catches/5 tds... Not as fast as Graham though. Curious to see what his 40 time is. Because I haven't seen him much, I can't say I/we should draft him. I've read he's also a crappy blocker, so is there room for him to develop and Egnew on the roster, assuming Egnew stays? With Keller and Clay already taking up the #1 and #2 TE spots, Probably not... But if Egnew goes, I imagine JF can at least jump ball some passes and make himself useful (unlike Egnew)... That said, I'll plug him in here as a guy to target. Probably a 3rd round pick too.

    QB: Tannehill
    RB: Bush
    WR: Wallace
    WR: Hartline
    WR: Bess
    WR: Bailey
    TE: Keller/Clay/Big man

I think that looks pretty ****ing nice. The Vet's Wallace and Keller can immediately help open up the offense for Tannehill. They're also young enough to be around while, not just a stop gap. The Rooks can role play when needed. And I think we could be scary formation wise with these guys. The icing on the cake is not having to spend our top picks asap. A 2nd and 3rd for Bailey and Fauria gives us a 1, 2, and 3 still to play with. Hell, we could trade down and acquire more picks too. Win.

Sign Jennings AND draft Patterson/Bailey. Green Bay didn't get their prolific offense with two wrs, they made it with 4-5. I want firepower at wr.

As for TE, i don't see any Gronkowskis or vernon davis' available, so i don't honestly have an opinion. Cook I guess.

    1) stud DE Rd 1
    2) WR round 2

    3) sign Jennings
    4) sign Keller - worth every penny and isn't a pain like Cook
    5) sign a decent FA RB, just need a third behind Miller and Bush

    At WR:
Jennings makes obvious sense.... + 2 more in the draft.
If we trade back in the 1st round we're looking at Patterson, Allen, & Austin.
In the 2nd round we're looking at Quinton Patton, DeAndre Hopkins, Da'Rick Rogers, Markus Wheaton, and Stedman Bailey. (I'd take any one of them)
Then grab the second receiver in the 3rd-5th: Ryan Swope, Connor Vernon, Chris Harper, and Corey Fuller (These 4 make the most sense to me from a talent/scheme perspective).

    At TE:
Dustin Keller & Jermichael Finley make the most sense from a fit and availability standpoint IMO.
In the draft, if we trade back our 1st or at 2a we could be looking at Eifert & Ertz (although I could see that being viewed as a luxury if we sign a TE in FA).
Usually too many late risers at TE to figure out the mid round guys this early on.
Jordan Reed and Chris Gragg should be in the picture at Hback.

Wouldn't be surprised to see 5 of these players wearing aqua & orange.

ADDED: Hartline should NOT be re-signed "at all costs". He should ONLY be re-signed if the value merits the contract.

To anyone who mentioned running back...

What are your thoughts on Jonas Gray? Obviously he didn't get to play because of his injury, but had he not been injured the kid certainly wouldn't have been an undrafted FA... Kid is a powerhouse in short yardage/goal situations, making an easy substitution for Daniel Thomas.

For TE i would love to see us sign Keller or Bennett.. I would rather see a catching TE come in then anything else. For safety i think we go FA there are more than a few out there that are a upgrade from what we have... i would love to see Ed Reed i can dream cant I

Our first pick in the draft is a CB unless we get one from FA. I believe we draft a CB 1st and foremost. Did you see the amount of underclassmen granted early entry into this years draft ...73 total. Lots of defensive players coming out...17 d linemen....15 dbs...6 LBs. I wouldn't be surprised if we take a RB early. You know Irelands philosophy the best player left on the board. With all those young players you can bet they will be picking the top talents first then waiting till the 4th or 5th round on the possibles

I think we go after Wallace making a statement to the world that we will pay for those talented players. Depending on Hartlines price it would be a flip between him and Welker, one has youth the other is the most deceptive WR in the game and would benefit the youth. I just hope Ireland doesn't want to play it safe and go for the best bargain and hope we find a nugget. I would keep a eye on Danny Amendola. But i i believe we use atleast one of the 2nd on a WR if not both

First re-sign Hartline and possibly Fasano, then I would sign Jennings and Keller. (I'd prefer Wallace, but will go the cheaper, more likely option). Then I'd draft Bailey (or Hopkins) in the 2nd. I'd go pass rusher in the first since that's where the talent is. I'd use the other second on a safety. For CB, I'd re-sign Smith and take one in the 3rd. CBs just have too little impact to waste a higher pick on one.

lot of it depends on whether Bush comes back. If he does, Bush, Miller, Gray + Thomas. I might still draft a RB late or pickup a mid-range FA back to compete with Thomas and hopefully replace him.
If Bush leaves, then I'd draft a RB in 4th or 5th round to become our #3 behind Miller and Gray. Just worried that if Bush leaves and Gray gets hurt again, we are left with Miller and Thomas, not good enough IMO.

I still think our best chance to take the next step is via defense, running game, and an offense that can put up 21-24 points. With that in mind I'm looking to trade down into the early-mid 20s while picking up an extra 3rd and 4th or 5th rounder.

I would make Bowe my primary target at WR in FA, big, physical, effective in all parts of the field, red zone included, over the life of a 5 yr contract I think he out performs Jennings. Wallace sounds nice but is fairly one dimensional for his asking price, I'd the Steelers chose not to pay him then I trust their assessment.

I let Hartline walk and draft a guy to be the number 2, some one with big play ability to complement Bowe. I bring Fasano back and hope Clay can continue to develop instead of spending FA money on a TE. A mid round pick to push Egnew would be a good idea too.

1st round I'm looking for pass rushers and WRs, in that order. If we can get a Sam Montgomery at 20-25 I'm doing back flips. If not then Keenan Allen or the guy from Baylor. In the 2nd round I'm looking for Eddy Lacy. Big back, physical, DThomas with better vision, patience and feet. Bush walks, and we have Lacy to go with Miller, Thomas and Gray. Solid group IMO. And cheap.

The other 2nd rounder goes towards whatever we didn't get in the first between DE and WR. Bailey or Hopkins at WR, Carridine or Jenkins at DE.

3rd round I'm hoping Bacarri Rambo is still around.

Isn't bringing Fasano back the same as spending FA money on a TE since he's a FA and all? :p

I don't have a problem with drafting Lacy to add that power element. I'd prefer Okafor to Montgomery, but that could be just me. Markus Wheaton would be a nice compliment to Bowe.... with Stedman Bailey, Swope, or Chris Harper for the slot.

Resign Hartline and Fasano. Sign Jennings and either Jared Cook or Justin Keller. 1st pick take Keenan Allen because he fits the west coast offense. With pick 2b take Da'Rick Rogers hoping he falls this far. This way we go from one of the worst receiving groups in the NFL to one of the best.

the good thing is we have lots of options via FA and draft ! ,can ireland deliver is another question

my dream off season is sign jennings via FA , draft a patterson or hunter type player and maybe swope later on
if that happens i would not resign hartline and see what we can do with bess trade wise

tight end i go after keller and then try and resign fasano @ $2m a year [to be 2nd tight end cause thats what he is imo ,] if not fasano draft ertz in 2nd rnd ,
or fauria a bit latter ,
we will still have picks to address cb and def end early on

    He's who i want.

Number 1 reason is he will succeed in this offense and immediately. Its virtually guaranteed. Number 2, he's an excellent role model and teammate and has won and won big. Those traits make him invaluable if we are bringing in rookies. Number 3, he'll be cheaper.

My ideal offensive offseason gets us: Jennings, Bailey, Eiffert, Q. Patton

I think we need explosive players on this team.
-Mike Wallace would be a great addition but I don't think it's going to happne
-I'd like us to go BPA in the first round of the draft due to numerous team needs
-I think Tavon Austin or Steadman Bailey, or best receiver available in the 2nd round has to happen.

I also think there are quite a bit of good looking TE prospects that will be available in the third/fourth rounds.
There is a middle linebacker that has really caught my eye and his name is Jordan Campbell from New Mexico Highlands University. He reminds me of London Fletcher and i'm not kidding.
Here is a write up on him. Nevermind that it's from a Patriots fan site (not that we shouldn't be taking notes)
    http://www.patriotsgab.com/2012/11/...rdan-campbell-gives-patriot-gab-an-interview/

But through free agency I would love to see us come away with the "right" signings this time. We need hungry players here (guys that really just want to play football) and we need some playmakers.

Same thing through the draft. We need some playmakers and we need some good football players. The whole size thing doesn't always matter. 6'4 239 pounds running a 4.3 is impressive no doubt but it's for crap if you can't play football.
I'm telling you this...Both WVU receivers are going to be really good in the pros and I hope we get one of them. The
Jordan Campbell linebacker is going to make a team very happy they picked him.
It's not all about the big sexy name sometimes and that is why i'd like for us to stay away from Dwayne Bowe. I don't even Greg Jennings is worth the ink/dollars. I say Mike Wallace only because he is probably the fastest deep threat in the game overall, and he comes without the diva baggage that a Desean Jackson comes with.

I'd also like to bring up Brandon Myers again. He seems like a guy who might go under the radar if some of the other options at tight end make it to the market, but I think he's a quite appealing option for the Dolphins. He was very productive this year, but in a certain area. He didn't run a lot of down the field routes, and is not a huge go up and get it type guy. Hard to dismiss the hands and production though, and he's a guy who probably didn't get enough snaps split out in Oakland.

This offense is pretty friendly to tight ends who can't block in-line. They're not going to force them to get their *** kicked next to a tackle all day, they will split them slot/wide or play them in H-Back roles if it comes down to it. Ultimately a guy who can block in-line is more valuable, though.

Egnew isn't on the field for other reasons.

For FA I like Greg Jennings

In the draft I Like one of the three. DeAndre Hopkins out of Clemson, Patterson of course, and Conner Vernon out of Duke that we could get in like the 4th or 5th if they somehow didn't use a higher pick.

    I like Bennett at TE

I don't think we'll be big spenders in FA. The cap space is deceiving when you consider we have Long, Bush, Hartline, Fasano, Starks and Smith up for FA. Clemons too. Jones is in line for a big raise also.

IMO well sign one top tier FA, probably a WR, and some mid level or bargain guys for depth and contine building thru the draft.
