I agree. Joey wasnt as bad as many made him seem. He wasnt great by any means, but the drops of everyone on this team at the time, including Hagan, really really hurt then. Its amazing that Hagan still cant seem to catch a cold... it's pretty disturbing really.
Cripes..Hagan.... Anywho, this was interesting: They are trying Matt Roth standing up at OLB, that could pay off, Roth as SSLB and our rooks taking over his DE spot.
The ball was extremely late there, you are 100% correct. The ball should be thrown BEFORE the receiver breaks his route. The QB has to identify whether he is open or not before he reaches the sideline. He should have still made the catch, but when the ball is late it creates more to think about for the receiver.
Which I think is what happened in that play. He was still trying to stay in bounds and make the catch. You can see he still keeps his feet in bounds after he didn't make it.
Thanks for the links, good reading indeed. Hagan sure seems like his hands of stone are going to drum him right out of football IMO.
who taught him to catch that way? if he lays out facing the ball with his palms together facing the ball, that catch is much easier palms up is doomed for failure also his route was horribly rounded off, he almost fell
Hagan was looked at as potentially the steal of the draft when we got him, but it seems like he still isn't getting it. This time last year Cam was raving about him, I remember he said something along the lines of "he can do things I haven't seen any other receiver do" and I was expecting him to be a bigh part of the offense. Clearly that didn't work out.
I know, he had a bad senior bowl and plummeted... I too thought that the record setting receiver would reappear.. the talent "was" there.. somehow it just hasn't transferred.. story of our drafts...
Hagan seems to impress during training camp but is very inconsistant during the regular season.I remember Cam marvel at his skills at last years camp and now we are getting some positive reactions from his coaches as well despite the aforementioned drop. Regarding I have to agree with those thay say that Hagans pattern was faulty. JH was throwing to a spot and although it wasnt entirely accurate it should have been caught .It didnt look like it was going to be a TD even if caught
