Here are a few things to look for with the tuna.

    1. if he decides to cancell Muller (50/50 chance) then look for him to approach his son in law Scott Pioli from the Pat's (I'm not sure if there are any rules against a lateral move in the NFL or not so this move could be blocked by the NFL) Pioli has interviewed in the past for other clubs but has decided to stay in NE. Not sure of the other positions but I can check. If Pioli is not available then expect Floyd Reese to come back from the booth. either of the 3 above is good by me. I think they are all great talen evaluators and should help the fish out greatly under some guidence from the Tuna.

    2. Capers is a gonner from day 1. Look for parcells to bring in Al Groh. another master of the 3-4 defense. This would be a great move although we will need to pay him a good amount of money to move from his nest haven in the college game.

    3. Cam - If we fire Cam look for Cowher or Jason Garrett to come in as the coach. I have to think that with the past few coaches in Miami all not having any major wins under there belt I think we may move with a Vet coach or just keep Cam. I know there is a money issue but my gut tells me if it is not the chin or marty that cam stays.

    4. Zach and JT will get traded. neither of them fits into parcells form of 3-4 defense. Parcells likes large backers and tackles/DE. Long not Dorsey is clearly in Miami and look for a bunch of picks to be large Outside LB's. the reason why I say long is becasue he will have the chance to play outside and rush the passesr and drop into coverage. Long has a great motor and and is more versitile then Dorsey. dorsey also has the health issues. and Parcells tends to sho loyalty to past players sons - see carpenter with the cowboys. there is much more for us to keep an eye on and I will bring them up in a later post.

Very doubtful he gets Poli from NE

I want nothing to do with AL Groh

Cowher will not work under Parcells, Cowher will want power.

Getting Pioli may not be as hard as you think
Keep in mind that pioli has been looking to get out of NE for a few years now.
I don't think you or anyone for that matter would shake your father in law down for any extra money.
don't forget that the krafts are in the process of building a huge complex up in NE and to pay scott more money could be an issue
and finally what is the better situation then to go into MIA working for your father in law that will be around for 3 MAYBE 4 years then getting apponted to his seat as VP of operations. sounds like a GREAT situation for me.

I'm hearing John Ireland will have the inside track on the job if Mueller is fired.
Also, I do not believe for one minute that Bill Cowher is going to come out of retirement and work for Parcells. Neither will Marty S. You're just pipe dreaming, pal. However, Jason Garrett, I could see.
As for the player trades...you can not tell me that Jason Taylor "does not fit" into ANYBODY'S form of defense. The guy is a playmaker and has proven he can make those plays within a 4-3 and a 3-4 system.

    No pipe dream.
What make you think Ireland over Pioli??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
see my last post about why I think Pioli.

As for the HC I said if Marty or Cower was a no go we keep Cam. But I have to ask what makes you think they won't work under Parcells? He has never had this role before so you can't say his past history. He won't be her for so long that you won't stick around to out last him. so what is the issue. neither of them want to be VP either. so again what makes you say that they won't work under Parcells?

As for JT not fitting he don't. parcells will want someone that plays a 3-4 defense. Not a hybride 3-4 / 4-3. there is no smoke in mirrors with parcells and the type of defense that he wouls want to run. He has said it and is know for having HUGE DE. If you take a look at a Parcells defense you will see that the DE's are huge. 270 - 280 - 290. He wants players to play straight up. JT does not fit the mold. can he play YES but is he what Parcells invision NO. JT is not an OLB becasue he is not that great in pass coverage. So where does he fit? Zach we already know can't play in a straight up 3-4 nuff said about him. tell me where I am wrong.

JT won DPOY in the 3-4 scheme i believe...

very rarely was he lining up as a DE and putting his hand in the dirt

i agree to some extent jt is a good player period but traditionaly not parcells kind of d end thats why we should take chris long with our first pick if we stay at 1. i said it before with brady being in our division we need a good pass rush wether jt plays a couple more years here or not.

Pioli isn't going anywhere as long as he doesn't get to be the guy in charge - and that's Bill's job for the time being. He might be a good fit when Bill retires for the 27th time in two years, but until then, the Tuna will want a GM who dances to his tune. And Pioli simply isn't that guy.

As for Mueller, he won't get fired until after the draft - if he gets fired at all. There's no way any sensible FO would fire its GM before the draft and lose virtually all draft data. Remember, even Spielman was kept around until after the draft. I expect some changes in the coaching staff (not necessarily Cam Cameron though) and maybe the scouting department, but Mueller is here to stay. At least until April and quite possibly longer than that as there are few good GMs out there who'll want to play a supporting role in the Big Tuna Show.

He would. That's why there's no chance any team would let its GM go prior to the draft. Even if Pioli would agree to play the second fiddle (which I highly doubt), New England wouldn't be daft enough to let him go before the draft. They'd lose all their draft data and virtually draft blind.

I don't see Cowher coming in under Parcells, Cowher is looking for a lot of power, look for Atlanta to throw a pile of money at him or Schotty. I do see Garrett coming in, Parcells is going to want a coach that has the same approach as he does, and Garrett is his guy. I would normally be skeptical on any argument involving Pioli to Miami, but you make some very good points, especially since he would be the top candidate to take over when Bill leaves. I like it.........

WHAT DO YOU MEAN???? HE LEADS THE LEAGUE IN TACKLES EVERY YEAR AND IS GUARANTEED 10 TACKLES A GAME, give the man some respect he makes plays and he will be a force when he returns from injury in 2008.

JT will not be leaving unless the Fins can get enough value in a trade. This is highly unlikely at this stage of JT's career. They have no one else that can replace his 10+ sacks per season for the next few years.

Further, we have also heard that Parcells likes the nucleus of defensive players that are already here in Miami.

I look for Parcells to add to the core of players like JT, Zach, Crowder with more quality defensive players in the draft and FA

JT is a GREAT player but just not in a Parcells defense.
I just don't see where he will fit in.
    Trading him is an option.
we won't get much for him maybe a 4-5th I agree but why keep a GREAT player on your roster that can not get on the field for you?
someone has on the board a thread about Mortensen confirming that 1st thing Parcells will do is make Miami BIGGER. Thats just what he does.
    I love JT
I thought he was a great pick from day 1
    but the scheme has changed
we will now run a 3-4 defense period.

I am sorry but I cannot agree.

JT is basically WM or LT...

LT was not a coverage LB.

But he was a hell of a pass rusher (obviously) and a great tackler.

JT can play in this defense as an OLB in the 3-4 scheme.

That he needs more time at that position to get better, of course, afterall he's been basically a DE his entire career except for the few years under Saban.

Even then, he had sacks of 12 (one safety) with 9 pass def. and 13.5 + 2 ints. and 8 pass def.

    He'll be fine.

You just hit the nail on the head
I agree with the comparison to LT.
A younger JT with a few years on hand would be a no brainer
an older JT with just a few years left in the NFL makes sense to trade him get what you can out of him.
believe me it may not be the popular choice but if we can grad a 3rd for him go ahead. Like I said why keep a great player on your roster that really does not help you out?

Because getting pressure on the QB is critical to a good defense and JT is still getting double digit sacks per year.

I would not look for Parcells to trade JT for a 3rd or lower.

If he has as much power as I think he is going to watch him pull something like he did in Dal as a Coach.

No logos "UNTIL" they earn that fish

That is it! Put JT in as a pass rushing specialist at OLB. Keep him. The upside of his attitude on the field and his sacks / qb pressures is worth more than a mid round pick on an unknown entity.

I think you meant to say JEFF IRELAND...

WOLF PUSHING McCLOUGHAN FOR FINS GIG

"A league source tells us that retired G.M. Ron Wolf is urging Bill Parcells to hire 49ers V.P. of player personnel Scot McCloughan as the next G.M. of the Miami Dolphins.

We previously heard that Parcells would consider JEFF IRELAND of the Cowboys and/or John Schneider of the Packers for roles with the Tuna's new team."

IMHO, there is NO WAY Parcells will part with the likes of ZT and JT next year unless they get a 2nd or above...

These guys are the core of this defense and are still putting up great numbers!

ZT was leading the team and I believe was second in the league in tackles before his car accident. JT was slow to start as usual, but with the vanilla "D" Dom put in, has still found a way to be a menace to a QB... Double digit sacks again, plenty of forced fumbles, blocked kick, pass defenses, ints, etc... And yet again elected to the probowl...

How do you cut, or give players of this caliber away for less than a 2nd rounder and expect to replace them? And they STILL have gas in their tanks as well!!!:confused2:
