95% of what I included there was just cut and pasted from what I had written the last time you raised the ridiculous "Ireland is a liar because Gil Brandt said so" argument. It certainly is not a big deal whether Ireland first liked Tannehill in January or April, as we know he liked him because he drafted him. I do find it offensive that you feel the need to impugn the character and credibility of someone you don't know at all based on your bare speculation as to the sequence of events of the Brandt-Ireland conversations. I think it is classless, but I suspect we can agree to disagree about that.

Pat White started more than 30 games in college (started 40 at WVU), so that wasn't breaking the rule that he said he broke for Tannehill.

We're not talking about a single rule.

Notice I wrote "Blueprint" in quotes, not Rule.

We're talking about the mold. Pat White doesn't fit it. You're conflating two very different discussions as I was addressing what Rafael said.

Tannehill very much fit the mold of a Parcellian QB except for the starts. Pat White only fits the starts rule and basically violates everything else.

Ok, got you...but will be anal and point out you never put either Blueprint or Rule in quotes, it was "Breaking". ;)

I thought a failed principle iswhen you keep passing on great players in rd 1 to take players who never touch the ball .

my definition of a failed principle is taking the worst qb in the 12 and hirering the worst offensive coordinator from the same conference.

So you think we should only draft QBs, RBs, FBs, TEs, WRs, Centers, holders, long snappers, punters and kickers in round 1? Well, I guess DL would be ok, because they touch the ball when they bat down a pass. Any defensive player too I guess? Since they touch the ball when they make an int or recover a fumble. So, really it comes down to just OGs and OTs we should never take in the 1st round? But, wait a minute, they could touch the ball too if they recover a fumble.

Good thing we wont be taking Landry Jones then, so we won't violate your principles. Which offensive coordinator may we hire from the "the 12" this year?

  9. I don't think he violated his philosphy. It seems to me he puts a lot of weight on the interview phase of scouting and is willing to overlook a players stats depending on which way the interview goes. He passed on Dez because the interview didnt go so well even though Dez looked good on paper and he signed RT even though he looked questionable on paper. Seems very consistent that he puts a lot of faith in his gut instinct.
