Great to see Jones and Pouncey get some deserved respect. Jones flew under the radar but the fact that the writer had no bias toward him and put him on based on play alone makes it a real accomplishment. Mike getting in over his brother who has received masturbatory praise from the media is no small feat either.
Nice to see Pouncey and Jones getting respect - just shows what a sham the Pro Bowl has become; they were both snubbed. Hopefully these two continue to improve and stay in Dolphin uniforms for a long time to come.
In the event someone agrees with what is clearly sarcasm (), no way he would have gotten in over Green and Bryant. Julio Jones is probably the third guy as well.
I say third guy in reference to the article. A. J. Green and Bryant are 1 and 2. I'm saying if Hartline was under 25, he'd still be behind Jones to get on the list. FYI: Boik traded his left nut years ago to be a mod.
Dez has more of a track record. Julio has one breakout season. I'd take Julio over Dez though if I'm building a team.
As far as natural ability, Dez can't be touched. But he is as smart as Cecil Collins if he had played long enough to get 20+ concussions.
If I didn't have plans I would give you a much longer list of WRs under 25 better than Brian Hartline.
The formulaic nature of the top 25 makes Mike Pouncey's inclusion a little less significant. They essentially had to include a Center, and the only two in the NFL that fit the under 25 years old description are the Pouncey brothers. Choosing Mike over Maurkice should be easy from there, though a lot of people still get it wrong. The strong safety inclusion is a little more prestigious. They still HAD to include one. But, the strong safeties Reshad Jones had to best to get in there were Eric Berry, Major Wright, Kam Chancellor, Harrison Smith and Morgan Burnett. It speaks well for Reshad that he would be considered above those guys. But personally, from the tape I've seen...there are a few of those guys I would take over Reshad Jones today if they were offered in straight 1-for-1 swaps.
But Muck has to have the mod testies somewhere? I doubt he threw them out. If he didn't throw them out, that means he values them.
In an uncapped scenario, yeah. But, the difference in play IMO isn't really a game's worth and in the capped league, having guys like Jones on your roster really help you build on offense. He's a damn good player but his under the radar status gives us a good shot at keeping him below what he could get on the open market.
Consider that Reshad Jones is likely not playing another year for cheap. He's in line for an extension this off season and they've already talked about it.
