I've got misgivings of my own about Wallace, but the guy put up 1,250 on 93 targets. You don't have to force-feed him the ball by any means.

I think Antoine Cason nowadays is a bend-don't-break corner. He doesn't make many plays on the football, he's not really aggressive or physical at all with his coverage. He's disciplined in his technique which limits big play opportunities for the other side...but he's not what you should be shooting for in a starting corner, IMO. With THIS corner class of free agency and all the guys switching teams who could potentially be really good, taking Antoine Cason would feel like a cop out to me.

I think Chris Houston could be more than that. He too gets conservative when faced with big time play makers at receiver, but most of the time he's more aggressive. Captain Munnerlyn I still don't fully have a bead on but his metrics were as good as you get.

And I'm not a big fan of Dustin Keller. They won't make a play for Fred Davis because of the off field issues but I think they should. I like Ben Watson.

Will also mention if we add Keller, Hartline will be without excuse for not scoring Td's as he figures to draw the weakest coverage players, ball is in his court if this move happens.

He figures to draw the #3 Cb, he is making what 6.7 million per yr, that is being set up for success.

It doesn't usually work that way. Most teams don't shuffle their corners on every play to match up with WRs according to perceived ability.

I hear Martellus Bennett's contract is 4 years, $20 million. That's a steal. Really wish Miami had got into the bidding on that.

In general and at his previous salary yes. I think when it comes down to it though, there is going to be tremendous pressure from the ownership and front office to feature him in the passing game as an attempt to justify the salary.

IMO, that points in the direction of Bennett really, really, really, wanting to go to Chicago, like I mentioned yesterday.

So you're saying if Miami offered him a 4 year, $24 million he'd turn down the extra $4 million?

That's a shame. But there are still other corners out there. Derek Cox, Keenan Lewis, Captain Munnerlyn, Bradley Fletcher.

    Eh, Fletcher signed in Philly.

Still plenty of Cb's on the market atm.

I'd think the realistic goal is Mike Wallace 2010. I can't imagine anyone would be unhappy if you can get him to replicate that.

Not sure but it was all over NFL Network last night that Chicago was a predetermned destination for him. He really wanted to go there. Why? I dont know. Especially when the NYG are an all around better team and have a better chance to win something.

While I also have some reservations regarding Wallace I don't think Philbin will succumb to that.

If you think about it he's legitimately the best left tackle remaining on the market.

I've long been of the opinion people sold on him way too early. I'm wary of the numbers Jake has been talking about but I also don't think the Rams are going to give him the numbers he's talking about.

Derek Cox is a pretty underrated corner. I'd love to sign him. Keep him in-state.

I wonder if he'd take a bit less to stay in Miami. I really don't think he wants to leave.

First year as a starter, prior to that he'd just been third-fiddle to Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes. Teams didn't quite know how to play him, I think. Concerned about the diminishing returns since then. He peaked in 2010 when the NFL didn't know a lot about him and he was targeted 6 times or fewer in 75% of his games.

This is not "info", but what I hear is that he wanted 55 for 5, and that would make me pack his bags for him.

Nor do I but there is definitely a pride factor so what would be important is for the Dolphins to give him SOMETHING that makes his deal feel like they're making an effort to put it on equal footing with the Rams' offer. Could be as simple as an incentive clause.

Yeah but he's not going to get that from the Rams, either. My suggestion was to get him something closer to 9 million and then stick in health and pro bowl incentives that could potentially get him to the numbers he wants.

I KNOW he doesn't want to leave. You know how I know that?

You think cute little Cubanita Jackie Long wants to move out of her huge house in Weston, to freeze her *** off in St. Louis Missouri?

We cubans are a warm weather people.

I don't think there is a single can of black beans in St. Louis.

I guess I'm the only one on this board that wants and like Gibson. Of course depends on the money. I don't want to pay him more then Bess. But I like his game. I wouldn't mind if we signed a CB and went into the draft with Eifert at 12 tbh. I think a trio of one of the FAs, Marshall and Patterson could be ok as long as they stay healthy. Then Eifert at 12. OL and pass rusher in the 2nd.

I'm really liking the possibilities here. Still think we need to find a LT in FA.

If the coaching staff wants to go into next year with Martin at LT. Then we need to find a vet RT.

All I heard on Twitter is if he passes his physical, he will sign in St Louis.

I don't know. The Rams sure did beat us on Cook. That was a hell of a contract they gave him. I'll reserve judgement till I see the numbers, but breaking down twice in a row at the end of a season doesn't bode well to getting paid by said team. As an OL guy I just hope we don't do a severe downgrade. Watching guys like Levitre, Loadholt etc pains me ;p

Just had that for dinner yesterday from this place called Jose's. I eat there once a week. It's a little hole in the wall but it's got the best Cuban food I've ever had. It was featured of the food channel.

Also, they do pulled pork instead of sliced on their Cuban. Off the chain.

The Rams didn't start out with a ton of cap space. Giving Cook mega-money had to take a big swipe at what little they had. I don't imagine their numbers can approach what Section126 was referring to before (5 years, $55 million).
