As a rookie though, IMO, we'd use him how the 49ers used Aldon Smith as a rookie and how the Seahawks used Irvin.

I think he'd be a starter from day one. IMO, if Miami drafts Jones, they're going to end up trading Koa Misi and Jones would start. I think he's that good. He's not making a position switch as Smith did in San Francisco, and he's more complete than Irvin was coming out. That's my thinking.

Assuming he does start, I'd hope they do not trade Misi. It would at least give us some viable depth for one season. Considering Ellerbe has never played a 16 game season yet, it would be comforting to have some depth with starter experience, and Misi isn't a big cap cost, being still on a rookie contract.

I was 15 at the time, lol. I didn't really remember anyone but the bigger named guys.

If I could go through my GML drafts, I'm sure I'd find guys who I thought I got steals on that busted out of the league.

Go with someone recent then, lol. There were 255 players drafted in 2010. There had to be at least one guy you adored that hasn't even taken a snap in the NFL, or actually did take snaps and just vomited all over himself.

Derrick Morgan and Sean Weatherspoon were two of my favorite players that draft. One is good, the other seems to be getting better at least (had an injury his 1st year). That's probably better than most 1st rounders I really want.

Oh, and I thought Arreleous Benn was going to be awesome, and he's been pretty darn bad. I also was a bit worried when the Jets took Kyle Wilson, because I liked him. I also really liked Rennie Curran, and I'm not sure he ever played in a game despite being a 3rd rounder.

At least I liked some other LBs that draft a lot who turned out pretty good (Lee, Bowman, and Perry Riley). But I also thought Andrew Quarless was going to be a steal that draft. Oops.

2009, Clint Sintim. I gave him to Miami with the earlier 2nd round in The Club Level Mock Draft.

Thinking about some of my other brilliant player evaluations...
I thought Leaf was going to be better than Manning
Leonard Pope was the next great TE
    Has-Benn (thanks invid)
I thought Ginn would evolve into a Steve Smith (carolina) type player
I thought Heath friggin' Shuler was going to be awesome.
Ricky Ervins was going to be an incredible back for the Redskins
Lendale White would be a much better pro than Reggie Bush (thanks, tequila)

Self-evaluation: I know jack about squat.

I guess what I'm getting at is...I don't trust evaluators that can't remember any spectacularly bad calls they had. And I mean guys that they took a stand on, maybe it wasn't the most popular opinion, and they were just flat out wrong. Not like, "Oh I liked so-and-so whom everyone else in the world also liked and he ended up bad". Not, "I kind of liked so-and-so as an undervalued player and he's been kind of nothing more than a solid rotational guy".

I want, "I loved so-and-so to where I asked him if I could do a body shot off him at a party and he ended up Adolf Hitler."

I was a massive Derrick Morgan fan. Speaking of DEs. I was a massive Eric Norwood fan and was convince everyone would be so sorry for passing on him.

I was certain that Abdul Hodge would be a better NFL linebacker than Chad Greenway. How's that?

I wanted Miami to draft Ray Agnew rather than Richmond Webb in 1990. I thought Aaron Wallace was going to be a Pro Bowl quality pass rusher in the NFL.
Rather than Sammie Smith and Louis Oliver, I wanted Miami to take Mark Stepnoski and Steve Wisniewski. I thought the OL needed more of a Polish representation.

Why not just keep Misi and ride his contract out for the season? Have him as depth, in case of injury and he knows the defense. Depth is something we have lacked, so trading away a relatively cheap player who would only get maybe a 4th or 5th at best, maybe I'm being kind. It might just make more sense from a depth perspective.

Speaking of Aaron Curry, how much do you think it would cost us to sign him? He might be a bust as a first round pick, but as depth I think he'd be an upgrade over almost any of our backups.

Morgan is emerging as a decent player so I don't think you can can't him.
Add me to Benn..... and Sintim, too.... although injuries weren't very friendly to Sintim. lol

As I mentioned to CK on twitter James Hardy was a guy I'd have done body shots off of, but so was Craig "Buster" Davis (drafted by San Diego). He was just simply a bust.

Yea, I really like those two guys (and think both would be excellent value if still on the board there). Not sure I'd take any other PSU guys this year, aside from Mauti in rd 7.

Speaking of being wrong sometimes the NFL tells you you're wrong and you feel so strongly you stand right up to them and say, the hell I am.

Larry Parker is that example. I like Leon McFadden quite a bit. And I still take Larry Parker over him.

I liked John Beck a whole lot, and he wasn't all that small at 6'2 210-215 but he sure looked small. I still think that they should have left his throwing motion alone, and bottom line I expected him to be very goo, was thrilled when we drafted him in the 2nd round.

Though I still think the Titans ruined him with the way they brought him along, especially parting ways with McNair who was his perfect mentor.
