Dee Milliner is the most technically sound CB I've seen come out in a while.

And injured or not, I have given up hope of him making it to our pick.

It would probally cost a 2nd and maybe a 6 or 7th round pick if he gets out of the top 4 to move up and get him.If he is truly a revis type of player then he would be worth it.

I had a torn labrum and had surgery a few years ago in my early 40's. Also had a torn bicep tendon and a partially torn rotator cuff from a bone spur (as well as a ton of bursitis).

Was able to get it repaired via arthroscopic surgery (Great surgeon at Wake Forest U). They said the full recovery was 9 months. That was about right. But I had dramatically increased motion after 3-4 months of rehab. At 6 months it felt good but was not at full strength. But, I was so busy and did not have a ton of rehab - that I didn't really work extra hard.

I think he should have surgery now - asap. That way he has a better shot of coming to full strength and motion near the start of the season.

I recall during the 2000 season Jay Fielder played with labrum torn in both shoulders. Tough dude. I imagine soccer would be the least impacted sport to play thru.

At any rate, I still wouldn't expect Milliner to get anywhere near us. Would have to he a trade up.

.... which I would hate to see us do if we're in fact switching to more of a zone scheme.

Can anyone link me to a report on the zone stuff? I can't seem to find anything. Thanks in advance.

It's been inferred here and I believe Armando intimated to such. (nothing concrete)

It seems like one of those things that has just taken root despite not a lot to support it.

Why this then Alen? or is this more of Peter King being Peter King.....or people trying to blow a smokescreen...

It's smoke. This is the time of the year you hear/read it. As for the backpedal stuff, it's not a big deal. They prefer to shuffle because they play so much pattern reading (if you're not familiar with it, it's like matchup zone in basketball.) but it's not a big deal. There are coaches in the pros who teach it or adjust with it to a player's strengths, as was seen with Asante Samuel in NE and PHI. Also, Milliner played a lot of press-man, so of course he didn't backpedal (or even shuffle) much. It's just smoke.

Mayock also now puts D.J. Hayden as his #1 corner in the Draft, ahead of Dee Milliner.

Hayden shows every skill necessary to be an NFL corner, but I still don't see him as the #1.

Isn't Hayden's injury going to scare teams off?

I recall it being just his left shoulder, but it was so bad he couldn't even hand off left handed like he normally did, and has to use a right handed back handed style to hand off. Seems like he had some sort of brace or harness he wore on the left shoulder late in 2000 after the injury.

It also was a partly torn rotator cuff, rather than a labrum,

Todd McShay has him going to the Titans in his latest mock draft, but there's a chance the Dolphins will pick him up if his draft stock falls
