I go to games. I live in Georgia and go to home and away games. This April will be 41 years born and raised a fan. It is time we got rid of the goofy *** jumping though a hoop while wearing his bike helmet dolphin and replaces it with something modern. Also going back to original aqua and orange is a huge improvement. It will be nice wearing gear that doesn't look like my 4 year old should wear.
I originally didn't know it the tail would look good, but instead of looking like its swimming, it looks like it just whipped down a Jet into the water.
I was merely responding to the poll, which wanted to know, "what I thought of the new logo". I guess the only people who are suppose to write how they feel about the new logo in this poll are those who like the new logo. Perhaps in the future, when someone offers a poll on a topic, maybe that person should state that only those who like or agree with whatever the poll is referring to are allowed to give responses on the thread. I obviously was not aware that only positive comments about the logo were allowed on this forum. It starting to appear that a few people on here want to dictate what is right and wrong in regards to the views of others.
I agree with the bold..i wanted a modern look,,but am not a fan of the new logo, its just kindaaa ehh to me...but i have been through worse..the 90's Pistons went from the boring basic basketball that said "Pistons" on it and red white and blue team colors to what can only be described as a clown puking up skittles and kool aid scarlet,teal,yellow....but i did love the new logo which is the one they have today..the Horse formed out of a basketball.. So in compairison this isnt nearly as bad..
I have no problem with you liking the logo and I appreciate you actually attending games. I was merely giving my opinion of the logo and I certainly value the opinions of others who might not agree with me.
Dislike it. Quite a bit actually. It hasnt grown on me since it first was seen... its changed a bit, and I still dont like it at all. It looks... awkward... the goofy sunburst looks... well, goofy considering the length and shape of the dolphin. It just looks way off to me all the way around.
A lot of people are saying that it's better than previously or it's an improvement or it's a good change compared to the old so they like it. I never was a big fan of the old ones anyway. I don't like this new one because it's a basic symbol of a dolphin. It's not an eye catching logo. It's not even on par design wise with the other NFL, NBA, pro sports team logos which are better creations. IMO, this was a chance to create something re-imagined and it fell well short for me. I was expecting much more than an etching of a dolphin. A 3 year old could have drawn a better dolphin playing Pictionary or Draw Something. It's doesn't symbolize the frachise culture; attacking style, no name, blue collar football. It's probably good compared to the old. It shouldn't be compared to the old. It should be compared to the standard out there in the world so it's flat overall for me.
The old logo screams a defeat kinda attitute, like being hunched up; on the other hand the new one is totally different, everything is pointing "up". Am I reading to much into it?
No, you are encouraged to voice your opinion as often as you would like. In this case your opinion was that the logo doesn't matter to you. After reading this post, I assume you don't like the new logo???
I like it, really like it. A new logo brought championships to The Broncos and The Pats. Scientific fact: New Logo = SB Champion.
This new logo is awesome.....if the Dolphins played in the Arena League. :-( Much preferred the one on Ellerbe's twitter account - http://www.dolphinslogo.com/wp-content/uploads/formidable/Miami-Dolphins-Logo-20131.jpg I cant believe I care this much!
Even though I am a 40 year fan I never understood or liked the helmet on the dolphin so I love they got rid of that. I am really looking forward to seeing how it looks on the helmet. Depending on the angle and what they do or don't do with the stripe will make it or break it imo.
As my boy Shouright one said, it should be about speed..that mother grabbing dolphin looks fast as sh$&
It's better than the prototype. So in that sense it's growing on me. Really want to see the new unis.
I don't care either way, which actually means I don't hate the new logo, but I don't like it all that much either. I hope it will grow on me.
more than the logo redo, I'm very happy they are bringing back the old hue and I don't mean Hugh Green.
The new logo will grow on me I'm sure, but I'm not getting morning wood or anything from it. Still seems very generic with little detail when compared with the old one. I guess I'm getting old, new things take more time to get used to.
The dolphin is good, but I'd like to see it used on the helmet before I pass total judgment as I think it looks more like a secondary sleeve design. I'm not a fan of the style of the sun - at all. Too sharp/spikey. And I don't know if it's because of the shirt creasing but it looks poorly drawn in parts. However, seeing as this had the potential to be absolutely horrible I am overall happy with it ;P
" it looks like a whale " : Your confused and must be basing this theory off the tail. It's identical to the old tail, first of all ( actually its less-whalish after another look ). Your just paying too much attention to it now, which is understandable. Secondly, dolphins tails are pretty much identical to whales tails. The real difference is in the head. You'd have to be missing a chromosome to honestly think that's a whale and not a dolphin. Besides, most who don't like the new logo were of course expected not to like it, and constantly ***** about it. What else do they do ?
Not a fan. The colors are well assembled and the new sunburst is very good. But the dolphin itself doesn't convey what I think it's meant to; certainly it doesn't look speedy or like a "missile" as some are describing it. Why? Because the tail is pointed up, not down. If the tail were pointed down, then that would indicate that the dolphin was propelling itself forward. Tail up means its last burst has slowed and it needs to push forward again. It's static, not active. I also don't like the rectangular orientation. The best logos, at least the logos I like the most, fit within a square. I don't just mean sports logos, I mean logos in general. Lastly, I don't get why people hated the dolphin helmet. The only thing wrong with the dolphin helmet is that the helmet wasn't recursive; instead of an M, the helmet should have had a picture a dolphin wearing a helmet, which itself would have a picture of a dolphin wearing a helmet. Oh well. I'm sure the logo will look just fine when shoved into Tom Brady's facemask.
