Knicks worked out OJ Mayo yesterday: Newsday.com

I would prefer Gallinari as I think he is the type of player who fits the system. The knicks have no shooters whatsoever.

Then I would try and work some kind of sign and trade for Calderon. I think hes the closest thing to Nash in the league as he carries excellent percentages, reasonably low TO rate, and can play an up tempo or half court game. Thats probably a pipe dream though... :(

Thanks for the Clippers updates. I'd love to see Calderon in LA. Maybe a sign and trade involving Maggette? Not sure how I feel about Arenas but a team him with Brand/Kaman and Thornton and you have a chance to win some games.

Interesting. Yeah I like Calderon a lot, really good player. As for Arenas, if he dishes the ball then it could be something special in Clipper land.

Sounds like Brand has changed his tune a bit. It seemed like the team wasnt expecting him to opt out. Hopefully he does they can extend him. If he and Maggette opt out they'd have plenty of money to spend in FA. Not sure there is anyone available who could replace Brand though.

Yeah, the problem with the Clippers is that everytime they have talent, they let it go. I don't think they can afford to lose Brand.

If the Bobcats do that trade theyre beyond dumb. Sheed is and always has been a headcase and hes 33. Gerald Wallace is a more explosive player then Tayshaun and while not quite as good on the ball hes more athletic and in the passing lanes all day. Plus youre giving up 2 guys who were lottery picks in Morrison and May and another lottery pick at 9. Thats rapage by dumars...

    N.C. State star hires agent

N.C. State's J.J. Hickson will be a one-and-done college basketball player. Hickson, the top player for the Wolfpack as a freshman low-post player in the 2007-08, announced Sunday that he had signed with an agent and would remain in the draft, thereby ending his collegiate eligibility.

If Detroit wants Randolph all they need to give up is a wet paper towel. They may as well get familiar with the way Randolph plays defense. Id take even less then that for Eddy McFlurry.

There's a rumor that the Pistons have promised Kansas State swingman Bill Walker the 29th pick in the draft.

It makes sense: Walker's knee injury would probably have been enough to knock down his draft stock, with a first round as competitive as it is. So the fact that he stayed in means he was probably promised a spot. Detroit had plenty of interest, have a need, and at pick 29, he's probably the best guy likely to be on the board.

However, Chad Ford says there was no promise...

Also, Danilo Gallinari might be headed to the Nets. Again, from Ford:

I'd still do it, but I'm not as huge on that trade. Morrison's a bust, and May can't stay healthy to save his life. I do like Gerald Wallace a lot, though.

Well the Knicks need a SG among other things. If they could get a consistent perimeter threat like Redd that would be a step in the right direction. Maybe a randolph for redd swap...? Salaries arent that far off. :shifty:

As the only Bucks fan I have no clue where Redd will end up if he goes. It won't be for Randolph, Lenny Harris had a trade for him on the table last year that the owner Herb Kohl nixed, because Randolph is not exactly a model citizen. I have still heard talk of the Cavs trying to land Redd, but they have nothing we want really.

I also read on ESPN somewhere that the Bucks may try to move to #3 to get Mayo and be offering a package of Charlie V. or Ji Jianlan and the #8 pick. I would love them to get Mayo but we need to move either Redd or Mo Williams, there is no way we can have trot out those two for another year, they both play zero D.

Villanueva can play on my team any day. I liked that dude when he was coming out of HS in Brooklyn and I felt he could become a very good player as a pro. hes still only 23/24 so I think it'd be crazy to give up on him. His upside is a better Lamar Odom.

As far as Randolph youre probably right, it was just me dreaming out loud. But you have to also consider there arent many teams that would take back that contract...
