My dream scenario is trade for Albert (for a 2nd) trade down and gain another 2nd back, draft Eifert with mid/late first, and get pass rush/corner in 2nd
You're essentially trading out of the 1st round if you move back with SF. They own the 31st pick. Even if they gave us that and the 33rd, it's not nearly worth it IMO. If it's me, I only move back if it's a hand full of spots back, like St. Louis.

In his defense, he's talking "dreams", and you're talking realities (well, real chances, anyway). In my experience, pessimistic though it has been, reality always seems to be a dream-crasher. Let the man have his dreams!
Maybe I am missing something but you would think a physical examination would be a requirement for a deal to go through.Of course there is still time to do that before the draft but once it starts how can you make a draft day trade without one.Important draft decisions will be made based on that trade and those decisions will be ireversible once the draft is done and if Albert fails his physical. I dont like the timing of this trade .You would think we would get more leverage once the draft got started.
I'd be fine with moving back a few picks to have more ammo to move up later (maybe even a couple times). No reason to move that far back though.
I see no reason not to stay put at 12. For once, this year, we can actually match value with need with the players who should be available at that spot. If we trade down, the deal had better be damn good. A starting player, a 1st round pick this year, and a 1st next year. Otherwise I don't see the value in passing on the players who would be there at 12, especially since we have two 2nd round picks.
I'm on the barb wired fence myself but boy does this open up the draft for us. That is one hell of a silver lining.
If you can move down to say, 16 with the Rams and pick up some picks, it would allow you to get a similarly ranked player and have more ammo to move up into the end of the 1st for another player that probably won't be very much worse than anyone there at 12. If that's the route, you then still have a hand full of picks in the heart of this draft in rounds 2 and 3.
The bang for your buck in this draft is in rounds 2/3 and you can't fundamentally do something that's not being done. Pick 31 is in the 1st round. You wouldn't tell me pick 33 is basically in the 1st round, would you? Essentially, if my grandmother had testicles shed be my grandfather.
People we have already discussed this to death. There is NO WAY this deal gets done before the draft. Alberts agent is going to be spreading all sorts of crap about how we are going to trade for Fat Albert, so SD will get interested, and then spread crap about how SD is pulling the trigger so we will get nervous, but neither GM can afford to make this happen before the draft. Imagine if the deal doesn't get done and KC is faced with drafting a LT when they already have a great, young, cheap LT in Stephson, and a decent, overpriced one in Alberts. They can not afford to take another. They take Dion, the jags take Geno, Raiders take Sharrif and suddenly we are at 4 and all 3 tackles are still there. It is a long shot but it could happen. At that point both SD and Ireland would be able to trade up and get ONE of the 3. There are just too many things that could happen for us to pull the trade before the draft. It's a bad trade IMO. That's way too far to move back. You could say that 33 is essentially a 1st round pick as well. Regardless of what you 'essentially' call those picks though, I would not want to move from the 12th pick to the end of the 1st round just to get more picks when you're already flush with picks. You simply don't have enough roster spots. Like I said, if you're moving down a reasonable amount of picks, and plan to use a combination of currently held picks and picks acquired via a trade back, you can then use those to move back into the end of the 1st round. Yes, the "best bang for your buck" is in the 2nd/3rd rounds, but the best talent and least amount of risk still resides in round 1.
They have extra picks from the RG3 trade and who knows who they want/like/need etc. They're WR group was bad even before Gibson and Amendola walked. There's a couple reasons right there.

If we can get the 2 twos & 2 there's from San Fran, come on. You're looking at: 1/31, 2/2, 2/10, 2/22, 2/29, 3/12, 3/15, 3/20, 3/31 (and rest is known). Come on. We're bringing Madden back to the days of glory. After the 4th you can trade all the last day picks to anyone interested for next year picks.
There's only so many spots and more importantly playing time to go around. The Dolphins already have a lot of young players that need playing time. I doubt they want to add 11 players, let alone 15. And history tells us you have a better chance of the player panning out in round 1 than rounds 2 and 3.
