http://www.miamidolphins.com/media/...s-Roster/e546e630-2679-4b84-b108-7f0c91058710 Good interview..not anything we don't know but still good. Thinks Wake is top 2/3 pass rushers in league, and totally underrated by not in NFL circles. Loves DJ, thinks not only is he an unbelievable specimen, he might be the solution to the gronks of the world, can run with anybody, covered guys 5'10.. Thinks we will have two #1 pass rushers.. Thinks we will compete for a playoff spot, Thinks Clabo is a good signing, solid player who adds grit. Likes the Wallace effect, likes Keller, likes Hartline Thinks RT will finally be the answer since Marino...loved him coming out and after what he saw last year, loves him even more..perennial top 10. There's other good stuff in there. He liked us a lot...not sure why he's not a scout any more though.lol
I agree we can. It's now going to depend a lot on Tanne and if they don't sign another T, which doesn't look likely, Martin as well. We were a couple of missed FGs away from the playoffs last year. That was with that receiving corps and their whopping 13 combined TDs. If Tanne slumps.......screwed!! There is no reason why he should slump. He has many better pieces around him and weapons at his disposal. If he can take a step up, then it's completely reasonable that we could get to the playoffs. With that said, at this point, it all looks good on paper. You can have better players, but it all has to click. This is where Philbin comes in, imo. I really like him. That's with me taking off the aqua colored shades. Having that more, cerebral, cooler type of coach, who has the ability to put his stamp and have more control or influence over the whole team, rather than the loud mouth, rah rah, BS type, is quite refreshing. Really glad they hired him. I think he could finally be the right man for the job. Many reasons to look up.
I think folks should realize DJ may have double digit sacks this year, but he is going to be in coverage a lot as well as he answers matchup problems
http://www.miamidolphins.com/media/...insiders/63b7873d-709a-4405-a1b0-8a71864ab5a4 Great interview with Charles Davis post draft..must listen.. Thinks Dallas Thomas is a good player and thinks he might be a tackle but inside at guard is his position, watches all volunteer games. Likes dion Simms and Mike G as sleepers, thinks mike is is good, complete with no miles..and Dion can block and catch.. Really interested to see Dion at 255.. And Mike G runnin the rock, when I watch Mike I see him round off his edges so nicely it looks like he's faster than he is because he's cutting real estate out of the equation.
I agree. If DJ was Miami's only pass rusher, then I think he could be taken out of the game, however Wake is such a dominating force that DJ could get some pick up the slack sacks. Something Miami missed last year. Wake would flush the QB out and Odrick couldn't chase him down, however Jordan can.
Sched this yr is a murderers row of talented Qb's, everything from Newton to Brees to Ryan. Defense will have to be multiple imo. Of course, we could have a left tackle..
We talk about RT and everything depending on him, but I believe that if he played the same way with the improvements in the D and O this team makes the playoffs
Well, thing is, sacks tend to come in bunches, like in 09 Kraken had tons of pressures as a part timer, imo, DJ will play a lot more than Wake did in 09 so it's not out of the question.
man that's a good point, the athleticism were seeing at Qb and the schemes that use it, may require a different type of pass rusher..
Sure, as I previously mentioned, we were close last year and Tanne has a s--t load of more weapons now. People talk of a sophomore slump, but I see no reason for that to happen with Tanne. He's got so much more around him now. I think we have a very good shot. Martin protecting his blindside is going to have to really step up. I really hope Simms can contribute this year. I have higher hopes for him than some. With Fasano gone, they are really going to need some help with blocking and redzone production, etc.
Real problem is our Sched, aside from Bills and Jets, pretty much every team has a good to great to elite Qb Luck /indy Ryan Brees/Nola Flacco Brady Dalton Freeman Newton Rivers Ben R Brady Add in the Ravens, Browns and Stealers all have had good success against us, and it's a tough schedule to ask Tannehill to be great while playing. 2nd Bills game is in Buffalo 12/22 as well Tough yr, we'll see what we are made of in the first 4 games Goodness, even open up with 2 road games, gosh, guess we'll avoid the heat now..
Yeah, but I don't like to get hung up on the schedule. Things change so much from year to year. We'll see.
i just read something interesting our WR's combined for 3 TD's and our CB's combined for 3 INT's....thats amazing , how the hell did we win 7 games last year ?
I basically laugh at those bolded guys...Rivers could be the exception but for some reason he doesn't seem to have the same fire or even ability he did just a few seasons ago. Not to mention I could see a pretty steep decline for Brady this year and we play Jets/Bills twice and both may be starting horrible rookies at QB.
Thing with Dalton is he has been the playoffs in back to back seasons, Ben R is a quality Qb and you never know what you will get with Freeman, he runs hot and cold. Newton went for how many yards as a Rook? As for Brady...uhm..yeah...not holding my breath on that one A44 Basically, we have to sweep the Bills and Jets, split with pats and then find at least 5 more wins on the schedule.
Running the ball and stopping the run. The good news is we'll be able to run the ball and stop the run again this year, with a much better passing attack and more ways to disrupt the opposing pass game. Should add up to a couple more wins, at least. I think there will be A LOT of bandwagon jumpers coming aboard between now and the start of the season. Williamson is one of the first, even Willie McGinest is trying to get on board.
can you start putting tanny? Everytime I see RT I think right tackle. I was trying to figure out why it was still an issue.
All you need to know about Andy Dalton is this: 17-4 vs. non-playoff teams (1 of the 4 losses is to Miami). 1-11 vs. playoff teams (they beat Washington last year). He's an average QB who gets bailed out a LOT by A.J. Green. I think a lot of people will see that within their first 5 games this season. They play at Chicago, and host Pittsburgh, Green Bay, and New England with the Browns mixed in. Last year Cincinnati's defense was good enough to eek out some wins for them against bad teams. I expect the Bengals to fade this year.
Check out Jim miller and Bill Polian slurping our new tight end. Dude played at 285 as talked about, he's a hard one to project because he looks slow on tape because of that weight.. These two dudes believe we gotta steal. I removed the m, and the hash tag slash sign Sensai.
You used the link button, not the video button. You know there are chimps that can fly planes....just sayin'.......
Yea me too. I kept reading the thread and getting that some scout thinks that Scott Williamson is our answer at right tackle...um when did we sign him?
So now you have to write video in there and sh&$, before it was just the www thing, then this thing.. " In the link you're trying to post there's a /# in the middle. Get rid of it, so its just .......youtube.com/watch....... instead of .......youtube.com/#/watch..... My hands get nervous..lol
No, no, no. You hit the link button instead of the video button originally. What I just told you was a quick way to fix it.
It's up so if you wanna see them pimp our new tight end it's there. I wonder if Vinny gets turned on when we talk about slurping and pimpin tight ends..
Deej, have heard Sims compared to Alge Crumpler, and I can see it b/c he is so smooth catching the football. dropping weight is only going to up his game.
