I said I feel good about them playing decently, not that they're going to have "good years". There's a difference. Nolan Carroll already played decently in 2012. He wasn't great but he wasn't terrible. Richard Marshall played worse.

Marshall did not get enough snaps in 2012 to make an accurate comparison to Carroll. However in 2011, Marshall played much better than Carroll has ever played.
It's a good thing she can sing, because she sure is a homely little thing. That face could knock a buzzard off a gut wagon at 50 yards. You could probably pop the cap off a bottle of beer with her Jimmy Durante sized nose too.

I really hope Jordan starts at SOLB and we have Misi and Jenkins as primary backups. This team could have the best depth in the front seven that we have had in a looooong time. And we need it bc we got worn down last year.
I can't figure out exactly what kind of linebacker jelani Jenkins is, and what kind of player he is going to be in the NFL..really need to see what he looks like in preseason study..
Purely basing this off of last year's defense, but I think Jenkins is a guy that you could project long-term to play like Kevin Burnett did (i.e. I think he'll backup Philip Wheeler). But, more than that, and probably more in the immediate future, he's a special teams guy and perhaps a guy that's a nickel and dime specialist in coverage in the middle of the field. Just based on his Florida games I've seen, he seems more adept at coverage than anything else.
This is one of the reasons why I'm excited about his being drafted, coming off of injuries and his 40 time was falling, falling with each new test, imo he could be a high 4.4 guy. Now if he can handle the punishment, he was dinged at UF.
I'm hoping for more, like a coverage Lb in the mode of Derrick Brooks. This is why I'd have rolled the dice on him, don't think he is a Mike in the league, think he is a natural Will.
Agreed, see post 53 - my response to DJ. I think long-term, he's a player who can do the things Kevin Burnett did for Miami last year.
I think he is a much more sudden player then Burnett, he was coming off of a leg injury going into the pre draft period Bad foot, in HS he ran a 4.4 his first 40 at FU's pro day he ran a 4.65, as he heals further and recovers strength and power he'll be down in the 4.5's at 240 pds.
Def. think Michael Clay and Highsmith need to be added to the bubble - esp. if they can get it done on STs - they would be refreshing over Spitler because of their long-term potential (along with J. Jenkins). I'm not so sure that Gillislee is a lock because if Thigpen is the ST guy and two of the other RB's really come on (Gray and say Marshall) then Gillislee could be in trouble. I actually like Gray and Marshall as much or more than Gillislee. But, one thing that Philbin noted in his last press conference regarding the RB position is they are looking for RBs who are well rounded (catch the ball; run the ball; run patterns; block; etc.). They don't want a player to enter the game and is only a one-trick pony because then teams can just focus on what that player does well and ignore the other parts. They know the options are limited. I think that's why he also is high on WR's who can run the full route tree effectively because it forces defenses to play the whole field for every player. They can't just sit on short patterns on one side of the field. I think that Philbin guy knows what he is doing. Way, way, WAY more than that mafia guy.
Gilly has really good ball security, seems consistent in his patience, he can block and catch, seems like the versatile player that the coach could be looking at in a backup.
Oh he's not a bubble player?... He got released?? Yeah he did...he was part of the reason why the football wasn't right..crucial fumbles in horrible situations, completely avoiding certain times to run in an agressive nature, taking the wrong angles Instead of pounding the rock, can he house one from time to time, sure, but my overall impression of him as a player was a hard worker, pretty good football player, nothing special.
