Come on guys really ??? not one thread yet...that thing is running for close to an hour by now.... Info
Say what you like about Omar, and believe me I have, but at least he gives us blow-by-blow accounts of OTA's and camps. I know it's his job, and he should be there, but it's still good to know what's going on...as long as you take his opinions with a huge pinch of salt. And now, I'm away to wash my mouth out...
Yeah, I hate that sort of non-contextual statement. Did Tannehill just not see him, have the ball get away from him, or was trying to force the ball into coverage? Did the receiver run the wrong route, fall down, or just get beat by Jones for the ball? Separately, I love having studs like Jones and Grimes in the backfield making plays as they will force Tannehill and the WRs to step up their games and play better for when it counts during the season.
Interesting to here about Marshall being written in pen as the 2nd cb, you've got to think we'll return Patterson to the nickel corner role where he has his success before which leaves Taylor and Davis as at best 4 and 5 depending on Carroll, Wilson etc. Given that they are both reasonably high draft picks and that Grimes is one of the better corners in the NFL when healthy i'm hoping we can finally have some success at the position. I know its only minicamp and that seemingly everyone (cornerbacks and otherwise) are coming back from injuries but i'll take any good news i can get. Also I've got imagine that unless Carpenter is pretty much perfect from now on he's on his way out.
really curious if they make a play for vonta leach, although there are rumors that he eyes a return to the texans
Earlier the tweet I saw was that Charles Clay and Michael Egnew were the working together with the 1st string in 2-TE sets.
???? Who would you play at def end if you had to, Starks or Odrick.? Did Starks not like playing on the outside?,I forget why we moved Odrick outside and Starks inside when Starks was playing outside when we drafted Odrick.?? I'm guessing because randy is just to naturally big for the outside.
@JamesWalkerESPN 2m #Dolphins WR Brandon Gibson looks a lot more comfortable in the slot. He made several good plays today in practice.
Mike Wallace caught a nice 20-yard pass from Ryan Tannehill. He was wide open. Will Davis broke up a long ball throw from Pat Devlin to Brian Tyms. He flashed good ball tracking on the play. Armons Binns pulled in a nice catch from Matt Moore, dropping into a open zone vs. the 2nd team defense. Lamar Miller, Brent Grimes, Brandon Gibson, and Brian Hartline are fielding the punts. Chris Clemons stepped in front of a pass down the seam for an interception during 7-on-7 half field work. Rookie Don Jones continues to spend most of his practice snaps at safety. Brian Tyms continues to make acrobatic catches. Phillip Wheeler picked off Pat Devlin during half field 7-on-7. Wheeler breaks up a pass to Charles Clay during full field 7-on-7s. Jelani Jenkins gets a pass deflection during JV work, which features Matt Moore as quarterback. Nolan Carroll gets a deflection during 7-on-7s on pass intended for Marvin McNutt. Don Jones intercepts a Pat Devlin pass during JV 7-on-7s. Cameron Wake stuffs Michael Egnew at the line of scrimmage, preventing him from running his route. Emeka Onyenekwu forces a strip on a sack of Ryan Tannehill during 7-on-7. Rishard Matthews with a nice over the shoulder sideline catch from Ryan Tannehill. Kyle Miller caught a nice back shoulder throw from Matt Moore, who primarily worked with the JV unit today. Rishard Matthews caught a back shoulder throw from Tannehill. Jeff Fuller caught a touchdown pass from Pat Devlin during 11-on-11. Lots of INT´s today it looks like, something they wanted to happen more frequently
The 2013 Legadu Naanee winner. Although I'm not sure that anyone other than Omar Kelly was impressed by Naanee.
Well Keller was apparently held out of team drills according to Omar, so maybe Clay was just taking Keller's roles, and Egnew had his usual stuff.
Alex, don't hold out on me man, I know you got more stuff..I want more I want more cause when I really like something I want more.
Yeah. I mean, more is better than less cause your parentses don't like you if there's only a little....
ok i have something for you here DJ, did you saw that Dimitri Patterson interview yet...first of all what about his arms..lol.....but i don´t know i just saw that now, his body language can´t even look Jesse Agler in the eyes when he talks to him....doesn´t look very good/happy at all http://www.miamidolphins.com/media/...n_Studio/77ce89c9-80fe-400c-9fa6-0831341adaa7
Really? Do you have terrible memory because everyone was praising Naanee during camp. He just wasn't showing up during the games.
Linebacker play, Rishard Matthews, flashes of rookie corner play is what I'm looking for mostly.. What the hell is wrong with thiggy not returning punts..this is not good..I don't get the reps being distributed, if you can't be a full time returner, then I really don't know how you make this team.
I doubt it's worrisome yet. They know what he offers. They're trying to see what else they might have in case they can't afford to hold a roster spot for a return-only specialist.
I listened to it before without the video, Most of these dudes don't know how to engage one on one, he seemed articulate enough where I feel comfortable with his intellect for the game, and he was one of the few corners that flashed some real coverage ability on the inside, his contract number is to big for a nickel and two rookies with talent on the roster, I think if he doesn't beat out Marshall he could be in trouble, but I'm not quite sure what the average salary is for a good nickel, 2.5 mill I would think.
Did we keep 5 corners last year?? If so and we can swing his salary for a year, then I would be fine with GRimes, Marshall, Patterson, Taylor and Davis.
Yeah I guess, but if he is the best punt returner ( returned one for 6 last year), then why wouldn't we be able to afford him?, he's not making that much.?
Quinton Coples reportedly has not figured out what it means to train your body with a scientific approach relative to your craft so that's good news. That Odrick response is news worthy and leads me back to my earlier question, are we thinking moving Starks back outside and balancing out the positives and negatives of both players.? Ryan Tannehill has a lot of potential in the anticipation dept, when he talks about chemistry he's serious, it means something. Where is the zac Taylor interview Alex, come on man!!!
Yeah I figured that, but a full time returner who was really good last year, who can also play on coverage teams, I think you find the space, I Know I would..
