Packers GM doing homework for possible Taylor trade http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/...homewo.html?cxntfid=blogs_inside_the_dolphins Report: Packers inquire about Taylor http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/...bout_t.html?cxntfid=blogs_inside_the_dolphins
I say we just keep him he wortyh more to us then a forth rounder would be if that is what we were going to get for him. But if you throw a 2nd rounder in there then it would be worth something
While he is worth more than the 4th round value, if he is really considering retiring after this year, I say we go after getting at least something back. Gems and good players are found in the second day so that fourth rounder isn't all that bad. The value sure as hell doesn't equal out to Jason's but at least your getting something.
Well the news now is that the Packers would give up a 2nd if Jason would agree to a multi-year contract.
Sounds like the ball is in JT's court. But you never know with stuff like this until it actually happens.
How about a 4th that becomes a 2nd if he isn't retired by next draft, or if he gets more than 15 sacks this coming season? Sounds like a fair deal to me...
Jason should take this deal play this year and next year. We get a 2nd for next year (which is good trade for us!) and Jason gets his wish to play for a contender. To bad Farve is not there though If Jason does not take this I think the fans will turn against him. He will do nothing but cause problems in the locker room. Enough is enough we need to move on and hes the last real link to the past.. We will miss you but please for us all take the deal!
the only problem is it would likely be a really low 2nd. With JT, Green Bay is really nothing short of a lock to make the postseason. We should ask for a conditional 2nd
they are not a lock, they have NO QB right now. Well Proven. The Packers were like the FINS without the MAN there they entire team is going to suffer!
Rodgers isn't a bad QB. He showed that to all of us in the Thanksgiving day game vs the Cowboys. I think they could nine or ten games again. They're division is weak. The only team that is competing for the division title is the Vikings who have their own QB questions.
Maybe he learned from his mistake? I'm pretty sure a Favre/Moss combo last year gets the Packers to the SB.
Yeah but the possibility of one of those being on this team is slim. The only one that could be here is James Jones. If I was BP and co. I would ask for Jones to see their reaction. If they're willing, then take him and a draft pick. If not, take the second and move on.
I know but just cuse gems are found in the 4th round that does not mean we are going to get one and am not sayong gems are not found in the second day Tom Brady, Terrel Davis, Jarred Allen, and many more were found in the late rounds I just thinkk the chances are slim and Jason Taylor can be a good leader on the team when we are rebuilding and show guys the right way and teach them new things
I really don't think that Taylor will accept a trade to GB with Favre enjoying retirement, another young QB leading the team and the frozen tundra of Lambeau. I think you'd see him refuse to report for a physical and the deal would be called off. JMO though
That's more for us. If Taylor winds up retiring after next season, but still puts up 15 or more sacks (which isn't likely, but could happen), we still get a 2nd. It's sorta like the Ricky trade with New Orleans where he got more than 1,500 yards and we had to give up a second 1st-rounder for him. Just a thought.
Indeed, I saw quite a few Packers games and in every one this kid was a freak, some amazing ability. Its gonna be Driver/Jennings and Nelson at 3, not a bad trio of targets for Rogers. With the loss of Favre I cant really see them touching the offense or deprive him of a possible playmaker. I think our best bet is a conditional as has been said.
Don't count out Jones in the slot already. The guy has good hands. But yeah, Jennings is amazing after the catch.
