Per Woj, Aldridge and others: GSW trades Biedrins and Richard Jefferson to Utah, unknown what GSW is getting back.

If GSW can unload Bogut (and he ahs the highest value of the 3 players) they can sign Dwight outright.

Howard-Lee-Barnes-Thompson-Curry if they pull it off.

    That's pretty damn good.

Fast and furious now, Woj reporting that Andre Iguodola has signed with GSW, 4 years $48 million.

Not known how this affects Howard chase. Could still land him via S&T if Bogut is part of it or traded otherwise but I imagine you don't bother with Iggy unless you're trading Thompson/Barnes

This doesn't bring me any closer to understanding the chart. No idea how you go from what's written on the chart to what you just said.

In a capped league, players are more than merely statistics. they represent a dollar value against the cap. depending on how they produce, that dollar value is either well spent, or not.

The chart shows player value projected for 5 years at current production levels, while being adjusted for age, and usage.

The statistical component of the chart shows Wins Produced (a version of Win Shares) adjusted per 48 mins.

If you want to determine what a "fair trade" is, you can take a players projected 5 year value, with rate of increase, and then compare it with others by salary and age.

If they sign Dwight and Iggy, they could be the 2nd best team in the NBA.

    Yep. They'd be big time.

Might even be a more entertaining team without Dwight. Barnes at the 4 and run 'n gun

I don't understand that move. They have two young players in Thompson and Barnes, and now they bring Iguodala into the equation? It seems premature to give up on either of them yet. I'd like to think they have something in mind.

I'll be very surprised if it's anywhere besides Houston. It just seems to make the most sense.

Now Dwight's agent saying no decision. Unbelievable.

By the way if you want a laugh read the delusional Laker fan board on RealGM. They've already penciled LeBron and Melo into the lineup with LMA or Live possible in 2015

It's official. He's going to Houston. Now Orlando is officially the victor from last years trade with LA.

As a Magic fan it's pretty frustrating to see him go to Houston. After all his talk about wanting to be a big star in a big city, he chose Houston? He's an idiot, and I'd be surprised to see him ever as popular and beloved as when he was with Orlando. Hopefully for him Hakeem will work with him and develop a good offensive game.

Honestly this is the best thing for the Lakers, Howard is a team killer. I agree with Firesole, he should have just stayed in Orlando at this point. He looks like a fool at this point to me but hey he's got what he wants...whatever that is.

Is this a sign for the Lakers? I can't remember anyone not wanting to go to LA EVER. Like in the entire history of the league...wow. Between alienating Phil Jackson, hiring Di'Idiot and now losing Howard this franchise is approaching laughable status. It was fairly obvious to anyone that Howard and Kobe would never be able to play together for the long run. No one likes Kobe either so if they want to sign any big free agents in 2014 or 15 Kobe is either going to have to let go of the team or just .....go.

Apparently they say that about San Antonio, since SA is America's fastest-growing city.

Houston is the fourth largest city in the US. That's an enormous market.

Rajon Rondo is a team killer. Dwight Howard wants to win while being The Man.

When did I say it was small? The fact is is that Dwight wanted to be a star in a major media market.....a la NY or LA. Houston can't compare to either of those.

To show Im not biased, peruse the Heat board on RealGM. There is some clown there posting over and over how the Heat must trade Bish for Asik and it will solve all problems. Claims the Bish experiment has "failed"

Well Howard is a step up from Rondo, but Howards gotten a coach fired, blown up two teams and basically won nothing in the last few years so I wouldn't say he's a big 'gotta win' guy. If he wanted to win he'd make things work in LA, he's young and theres no franchise more capable of attracting free agents than LA.

What an assclown, I mean this is just silly at this point. I realize his talent but its got to be obvious that he's a team killer at this point. A contract doesn't mean that he'll be happy or won't be demanding trades or orchestrating his way to a new team within a year, I know he's the kind of talent that is hard to come by but this is just obnoxious at this point. He needs some good people around him.

I don't even know where to begin with this. Every sentence is wrong. Most glaring is the "make things work in LA" part. That roster is being broken up by injury and age. The Lakers are about to rebuild. Kobe comes off the books after next season, most or all of which he will miss due to injury. If Howard stayed, it would be him and 4 scrubs playing second fiddle to the Clippers—THE CLIPPERS!

Also glaring is the part about LA attracting free agents. There are no big name FAs that LA has a legitimate chance of signing until 2015. LeBron, Wade, and Bosh are going nowhere next year, and haven't even opted out so they aren't part of the FA class anyway. Carmelo could, but he seems pretty happy in New York. No one else in the 2014 class would be worth building a franchise around. 2015 features Rondo and Durant, but since Rondo is a team killer the only legitimate option is Durant. And LA definitely could get him, since they'll have mountains of cap space, and he'll likely be even more frustrated about finishing "second" than he currently is, which lends itself to a team change.

Somehow Howard is the bad guy? OK. I'm as sick of him as the next person, but let's not sit here and pretend that he's Terrell Owens.

To be fair every real GM board is hilarious. Some of the stuff said on there isnt even possible capwise.

Carmelo isnt going anywhere. Especially since the Knicks can offer 5/135 and have his bird rights in the summer of 15. thats Kobe money right there. He aint passing up that even if he doesnt get the full max.

Durant is a FA after 2016 season: http://www.hoopsworld.com/oklahoma-city-thunder-team-salary

I dont know where to begin if you haven't been paying attention to the Howard Saga the last 2 years, its gotten ridiculous. I don't know that I really need to detail it, if you don't know about it you haven't been watching the NBA, its not hard to figure out.

The Lakers are always going to be a premiere franchise. If you had to bet your house on which team will win an NBA title first would it be Houston of the Lakers? I'm betting Lakers. They won't be down for more than a year or two. And if Howard is as great as you think he is (and he thinks he is) why can't he get through the West with the Lakers? Who is a great team in the West? Maybe OKC with a healthy team, maybe?

At this point he's approaching Owens levels, he's more likable but this is a guy that is leading on like 5 franchises and at this point you have to think the Lakers nonsense is just his way of angling for a sign and trade to get more money. Yeah he's approaching Owens level at this point. I don't know if you're defending him or just being silly at this point or both.

I'm glad he is gone. I really am. The only disappointment was not being able to flip him to Golden State for Barnes and Thompson as was rumored earlier today. That would have been freaking awesome.

Howard is a clown. No one wanted him in L.A. More than me a year ago. After a year of him, no one wanted him gone more than me. No post moves, terrible basket presence, obviously awful free throws and a terrible attitude. Houston will learn soon enough.

I am not a fan of D'Antoni at all, but if its true that Mitch balked at firing Mike at Dwight's request, then even more respect has been earned for him by me. McHale is going to be excited at first, then realize that Dwight doesn't listen and won't be taught...and Kevin will be fired.

My favorite part is that Kobe and Pau both unfollowed Dwight on Twitter and Kobe posted a picture of he and Pau together. He never liked Dwight and I think this probably proves that. Having Pau at center again (his natural position) will be good for L.A. And Kobe will play the majority of the season, I can almost promise that.

As for the Lakers going forward, this next year is going to be tough, but they can start rebuilding through the draft, trades and free agency soon. They have lots of expiring K's a they can work with if the right deal comes along and enough cap space to chase who they want for the next two seasons. They won't be down for long.

Lakers headed for the wilderness. Don't act like they haven't been there before. It will take at least 2 years to clear the roster and another 3 to build it. Thats with no mistakes.

    Now..they win the lotto..knock off 2 years

I like their inside-outside potential now with Howard and Harden. I'm not a Harden fan, but the two should play well together. Nice job, Morey. (You're still wrong about Bosh, though.)

A Rockets-Clippers playoff series will be fun to watch.

Really not surprised to see the Laker fans adopt the typical loser attitude of "never wanted him, good he's gone."

I don't like Dwight, IMO he is a baby and is overrated. However he is still a very good player when right and would have made the Lakers better with a coach who actually knows what he's doing, and will most certainly make the Rockets a better team.
