http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...-in-house-candidate-for-dolphins-opening.html I could take or leave the stuff about Dawn Aponte to be honest. The most interesting part is the second half of the article and all the revelations contained therein. I have no comment.
LOL yeah I mentioned it later in the thread. Probably should've subbed out the Landshark thing and subbed in that.
Suspect the Football people do not want to be bothered by dealing with the marketing side, and the marketing side does not understand football people.
Heellls Yeah!!! Tell those 30,000 Jets fans at the home vs NY games they're gonna have to bring their own Jets gear from now on... That'll show em.
So basically the business side thinks the football side are a bunch of morons and vice versa, The Big Eared One spends most of his time in New York and doesn't have much of a god damn clue what's going on. Lovely.
WTF. It just defies logic. This is not improving my feelings about the organization. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Well lets see here .... after enduring Wayne kicking out Shula, JJ and his theatrics, Wanny and and Marino's dismissal and resulting cellar dwelling, the Tuna debacle with Sparano's fist pumping and losing ways, Fire Jeff Ireland ... heard round the world, now we must contend with where the owner lives and some stupid wearing a hat; even though we are clearly on an upward trend. Only in Dolphin land! The only thing left is someone saying that unless Joe Philbin is a saint and pure as the driven snow we are surely headed toward HELL. Damn will the season just PLEASE get here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eh, think you'd be stunned how mindless business people can be, it's all about spreadsheets and projected numbers, not about growing a fan base. 10 home games including preseason, 1 vs the NYJ when we have "X" increase in attendance, of those 60% are Jest fans, why not sell Jest gear in the pro shop? That would grow in stadium revenues "Y% or "R%" year over year. Think Dee will do well in San Diego though, MLB is very different outside of the NE and STL.
I don't blame Ross for being in New York. While the Miami Dolphins are a huge investment for him, I imagine New York is where is bread is buttered. I don't expect an owner to be there for the day-to-day. It is absolutely unnecessary to me. What Ross does need to do is recreate the mission of the Miami Dolphins and explain to his C-level people how to execute that mission. I think Ireland is turning into a good Football side Exec. If Ross can pick a good CEO that is good with working with the football side along with increasing the footprint and worth of the business side, this organization will be fine. I don't see the Football side as being as hardline as maybe Dee was. I mean....we did Hard Knocks for crying out loud. But I believe with the football side the business side has to learn to humble itself a bit because in the end, they are the product. Mike Dee struck me as the kind of guy that didn't believe that and refused to work with "the help." Dee was always up under Ross, never saw him with the players even if it was just for marketing purposes.
Why the sad faces, y'all thought Dee sucked, our football side is in good shape, just need someone who will get us a new renovated stadium right.
Reading the second half of that article, its seems Parcells is still effecting us negatively, much the same way he can't wear a pair of shorts more than once before the waistband becomes too stretched out to be worn again. Hopefully, the person they hire will bridge that division that Parcells in all his genius, created. I don't think, based on the bits that I've seen that the players and coaches are refusing to do PR. I think that is a classic ArmanBlow It Out Of Proportion maneuver. At most, I'm thinking there may be just some dislike between the football side and Dee on personal level. If that division exists, promoting Aponte could bridge that gap, but I doubt its the ONLY way to bridge that gap. Now I'm curious to see how many of the people that despise Ross and thinks he's incompetent will now complain that he's not around enough.........
He is...but he's probably not going to be able to go out and buy Aaron Rodgers, Megatron, and Arian Foster in the offseason.
The premise of Armando's claim is likely not even valid at this point. As I mentioned earlier, Stephen Ross isn't CEO of Related anymore. Its very likely that Dee left simply because Ross wanted to take a more active role. Sent from my HTC One GE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I meant to mention that. Scratch Carl Peterson off the list. There's a guy on another board that put forward another name we may look for, that being Denny Thum...who trained under King Carl.
Has anyone given a timetable here? I wouldn't be surprised if Ross takes this role, at least for this season.
Personally I think we SHOULD sell Jests gear, at triple the standard price, then apply the extra income to lower the cost of Dolphins gear. JMHO
