I'm still not seeing it. with that kind of "versus" title. It makes it out like one of them has to be the bad guy (likely Batman) and ends up battered and beaten. Didn't we just go through that with DKR? Seems harder to develop a storyline with a stupid title like that.

Eh I don't think the title has anything to do with the development as most scripts are written way before a title is choosen or in some cases the original title of the film gets changed before it comes out anyway. I don't think it's a big deal, I don't like the title myself but I get it. Again this is just what Goyer is saying in July of 2013, a lot can and probably will happen before the release date.

let's hope so. You bring together the 2 greatest heroes in the DC universe, you need to use more creativity.

I didn't think Batman Begins or The Dark Knight Rises was very creative as titles.

Having a hard time seeing them make this look credible and watchable in a real movie. The Dark Knight Returns was a good two part animated series though. This movie is probably going to stem directly from Returns since they put in a quote from their battle at the comic con reveal if I remember correctly.

    *Edit*

    Found the reveal

"I want you to remember, Clark…in all the years to come…in your most private moments…I want you to remember…my hand…at your throat…I want…you to remember…the one man who beat you."

I hope they get Batman right in this one. He is the only pure humanbeing capable of being a crucial member/leader of the Justice League. He has defeated Superman. He has formed strategies on ways to defeat every member of the Justice League. He has the guts to face death and defeated Darkseid. He doesn't retire, he doesn't quit, he doesn't take vacations. He hates being Bruce Wayne, he obsessed with being Batman. I'm hoping casting wise they consider Karl Urban. His portrayal of Dredd was very Batman. I hope in this movie we actually see very little of Bruce Wayne and mostly Batman. They need to have Batman defeat Supes at one point in this movie. He needs to figure out Clark Kent is Superman. He needs to be the world's greatest detective.

Well considering Lois Lane figured out Clark Kent was Superman after a few interviews over a weekend and that Superman told the military how old he was and where he grew up I think Batman will be able to put two and two together.

Anyway I just hope WB is smart enough to hire a writer/director of the Batman reboot FIRST before they cast anyone as Batman/Bruce Wayne. That way when it comes time to do the Batman solo film the director will have HIS choice as the lead in the movie. Of course because it seems like this Batman/Superman team up movie was put together the morning of the announcement I doubt WB has even thought that far ahead.

I'm not completely sold on this being the best idea. But it's hard for me to argue against seeing more Batman on screen. And if done right, having him on screen with Superman could be absolutely freaking great. Here's my first take on what they could do with it if you're interested:Man of Steel sequel announced, will include Batman

Word is WB is looking to cast an older actor as Bruce Wayne/Batman. They want the character to be an established 40ish Batman instead of a rookie.

Yeah exactly. According to Batmanonfilm.com WB already has an actor in mind that they want for the role and a script done.

Good god, a script is complete? Wow.

Any guesses who they'd select? Or want ?

Maybe a Viggo Mortensen, Russel Crowe, Ed Norton, Hugh Jackman (I know, I know wolverine), William Fintchner, Gerald Butler....?

My choice? Sean Bean (for an older bruce/batman)

They are going to butcher it. I didn't like the new Superman movie, or the one before it. Maybe that's because I'm not a fan of superman. The only superman movie I really enjoyed was Superman 2 with Christopher Reeve, the only one worth watching.

I don't and I'm not someone who hates Affleck. He doesn't have the edginess needed for the role and that lack of edge has been his Achilles's Heel in acting, IMO.

If they want Batman a little older than the last 3, then I think Jon Hamm would be an amazing choice. That would (to me) be the closest you could come to getting a person to step out of an Alex Ross drawing to play a story based on Frank Miller. Do that and then tell me its produced by Bruce Timm, then I'll probably shoot my load and die happy.

I think Hamm would be an excellent choice, even more so than Affleck but I think Affleck would be just fine as Batman. To each his own though.

Given a good script and a good director, Clooney would knock it out of the park as Batman. There were 1000's of things wrong with that movie, but Clooney was not one of them.

For me, Clooney was one of MANY reasons. Clooney's character came off as though he has never suffered through anything, he was terrible IMO.

Count me in on thinking Clooney did a pretty good job with what he was given. He absolutely nailed "Bruce Wayne as a player character" and his scenes with Alfred were probably the best things about the movie.

It's too bad that movie tanked because Clooney would have been a good choice to play the "aging Bruce Wayne" in the Batman vs. Superman movie.

    Have a CGI Batman.
Kevin Conroy can provide the voice and put Andy Serkis in a mocap suit.

Affleck has no range as an actor. He's not in the bottom tier with guys like Keanu Reeves and Ashton Kutcher, but he would be the worst Batman, behind even M Keaton

The idea of a Superman / Batman film, while appealing, feels a little bit rushed. I would have liked to see them explore more of Superman's universe before introducing the Batman, but that's just me.

I'm hoping that the "vs." part of Superman Batman is the end of the first or second act, with the latter part of the movie dedicated to them actually teaming up to combat a greater evil, which could then lead right into the Justice League movie. If Warner has the balls, they could introduce someone big - say Darkseid - and then end this movie on a cliffhanger, allowing them to hit the ground running on the next film.

We'll see. I have a lot of goodwill towards the first film but I'm very nervous about taking this approach to the second.

This would have been true if it was in the late 90s or early 2000s but he was great in The Town and Argo, which won best picture when he was the lead of the movie. If I were WB I would have no issue offering him the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman and ask him to direct.

It's not just you, it was rushed. While Man of Steel made a lot of money (it made more then Batman Begins, Thor, Captain America and the first two Iron Man movies I believe), it didn't make enough to make WB happy so instead of going with a straight MoS sequel they're including Batman in it, their main money maker, in an attempt to make a boat load of money.

Personally I would have just given Superman a straight sequel and did a team up in the 3rd (of course I still say Batman should remain in his own universe without people with super powers).
