so the first drive of EJ Manuel coming up..inside the own 5 yard line..i wanna see robert woods...who just pulled a bumphis on punt return but also recovered
even when The Colts were in the East i never hated them. Love their plain/clean unis, Manning, Edge, and now Luck. F everyone else
it came out of the blue , he surprisingly missed friday's practice with no details and on the next it already was announced he is seeking a 2nd opinion, now there is new report on rotoworld that says he will be ready for week 1, he was now seen on crutches and in a walking boot
I surely don't agree with their new offensive coordinators philosophy if its true, that they want to run the ball more, I'm all for taking the ball out of Lucks hands and putting it in inferior players hands.
It's unfortunate that he did not play in the state of Florida where Ireland and his staff could have gotten a good look at the guy considering we had major needs at the receiver position.
Unfortunately there were many people on this forum who felt it was more important for the Dolphins to win six games in 2011, instead of just playing out the season with the intention of having the first pick in the 2012 draft. This is exactly what the Colts did. They learned from their pick of Manning several years ago that it was worth having one terrible season and having the opportunity to select a great QB. Once Manning was out for the 2011 season and the Colts had no chance for the playoffs, they just tanked the rest of the season and ended up getting Luck with the first pick in the draft. The Dolphins ended up winning six games and were left with Tannehill. Luck will be a future HOH QB and will probably have the Colts in the SB in the near future. Tannehill will most likely turn out to be a run of the mill starter and the Dolphins will be looking to replace him in the next few years, in my opinion. On the bright side, at least the Dolphins won six meaningless games in 2011 and missed the opportunity to actually select a franchise QB for the future.
Yea, because people on this forum are the real reason the Dolphins won 6 games in 2011. It's their fault for not making the decision that the team tanks.
Just watched the first series Luck only took his eyes of his first target one time and he didn't turn his head far on the one not the way to look off any defense.
Colts threw that season to get Luck imo. They were not as bad as their record dictated. Phins won games in that season because they actually made an effort.
It's a good idea IMO. Luck took more hits (by far) than any other QB and he ranked 35th out of 39 QBs in throwing the ball to the other team (INTs and dropped INTs). A run game and shorter/quicker pass attack could help out with both those issues.
You can add Woods and Goodwin to the loooong list of receivers from this class that look like they'll produce right away...so disappointing that we didn't even get one.
Do we even need a WR at this point? are either of those guys going to be better the Matthews, McNutt or Bumphis?
At what point are you sacrificing the elite play making ability of Luck, do you know what their pass to run ratio was Gm? I think it was very high no?.. I guess it makes sense to drop that a bit but damn.
It's only game one of the preseason and I realize they are not going against the same guys, but Jeff Tuel looked better than EJ Manuel today.
2 catches for 11 yards. Saw one of his catches, a 7 yarder over the middle. Also saw him miss a catch over the middle that could have been called a drop.
