Yeah, really unfortunate, was hoping that it wasn't that serious (hadn't seen it because I was celebrating my birthday last night), but then I saw the clip this morning and knew it wasn't going to be pretty. Happy birthday to me, right?

    Time for Sims/Egnew.

Well Ireland has devoted many resources to that position in terms of picks and money....think maybe it is time some of his vision pays off?

We are already calling around for TE help. Having any faith in Egnew is a lost cause. The guy sucks ***.

This just ruin my ****ing weekend, he was going to be a huge weapon with defenses keying on Wallace, just like last week.

Why is this organization so snake bitten?

I'm not sure this will end his career in Miami, he's not suddenly going to get a huge multi-year contract, and we probably won't have the hole filled by someone that good.

It seems I'm the only one that feels bad for him, but thinks the team will be fine. The thing that bothers me is the texan kid had a chance to give him a good shot, but cowardly went out of his way to get low and avoid collision, targeting not even the waist but the knees.

I'd agree... we probably get a nice discount next year when we resign him. Hope he rehabs with our guys though and is kept around the team to assist with the two youngens.

I think there's only two guys that would, if they got hurt, completely ruin our season, and I'm hesitant to say who they are.. :shifty: Lets just say one plays quarterback and the other wide receiver.

I think the one who gives the QB the ball is way more important.

I would almost agree but, I'd have to say another guy that we could not afford to lose plays in the middle of the o-line.

Egnew dodges a bullet, hopefully he seizes the opportunity.

Have to think CC9 also now has a larger role in our offense.

well, Sims, Egnew and Clay can be decent in this system, they can catch the ball and Sims can block. But Keller excelled at getting open which made him Tanny's best friend in this offense, which was set up for a player like Keller. Tannehill can get by with what we have on the roster, but he'll have to rely on Wallace, Hartline and Gibson a little bit more.

Sims dropping two balls after Keller went out didn't help my confidence though.

BTW as Swearinger mentioned, there is no fine for going in low, I've seen this stuff in the CFL, it happens all the time.

One more reason to despise the cowgirls.

So does Sims move up to 1 or is Clay now the starting tight end? Curious to see how this shapes up.

I'm just a believer that offense wins games in this league. Yes our defense would take a hit but you can't win games if you don't score a lot of points in this current NFL environment.

Than the qb himself, or the wr who was brought in to change this offense? I don't think so.

I just think there are some things you can do scheme wise to soften that blow... any of the other guys go down it wouldn't be as devastating as Him and the other Him.

Here's a list of some FA tight ends:

    Randy McMichael
    Todd Heap
    Will Heller
    Kevin Boss
    David Thomas
    Travis Beckum
    Jake O'Connell
    Martin Rucker
    Weslye Saunders

I think the two I'd be most interested in are Todd Heap and Randy McMichael(whom has turned into a surprisingly good pass protecting H-Back)

As I stated in DJ's game review thread, we do what we did on the drive that Keller went down. Three wide, with Clay moving around and Miller at tailback. Gibson is the key IMO. Of course Tannehill is the real key. "Great" quarterbacks can weather this storm long term. Unfortunately, Tannehill is not there yet... to be determined how great of an impact this will have on our season.

I'd put the odds at Ireland pulling the trigger on a trade for a tight end at even money. Last year, he wouldn't have done it... but this year, too much invested to have this thing crumble to a seven win or less season, costing Ireland his job. Who knows though, maybe Philbin calls in a favor to the Packers for one of their 18 tight ends.

Hope Clay steps up as the starting TE with Sims in 2 TE set. Rodriguez for the H-Back role that I think Clay had. F**** f**** f********

Well, this sucks. I know everyone is trying to be optimistic about Sims, but I think losing Keller is really going to hurt Tanny. He was developing a real comfort zone with the guy.

Maybe we can convince Jeremy Shockey to come out of retirement. I'm not even sure if he officially filed for retirement.

The Eagles have a few TE's. Celek, Ertz, signed Casey. They moved Harbor to WR.

Egnew needs to be the one to step up if he wants to make it in this league.

It sucks, but I feel bad for Keller more than the team. I think the team won't lose the season based on this. The offensive game plan will change and we may now be relying more on the wideouts and Gibson more, but I think there is enough talent to overcome.
