Detroit 40 New England 3 This is the "dress rehearsal game" when teams actually game plan and try to "win". The Lions are a juggernaut, the Pats dynasty is done!!! You heard it here first...
Like I said before, PLAY THE BACKUPS!!!! Screw chemistry..practice makes perfect..the risk of injury is not worth the benefits of chemistry.. Do I like to see our starters, sure, is it more important to not show anything to our future opponents, yes...change the game, start the backups...
LOL! Jan Brady with 16/24, 185 yds, no TDs, a pick, and 2 sacks. 72.4 QBR. Would LOVE to see that trend continue! RBs had 2 fumbles? Schmexy!
Only thing that game was good for was blowing up Kenbrell Thompkins fantasy value so I have to draft him earlier
Who Likes to Over Analyze Preseason Results What has two thumbs and hopes the Patriots implode? >THIS GUYYY<
Amazing, Brady put on that performance last week and all things were forgotten, like, he's gonna be without an incredible football player in Welker, a fast athletic productive tight end in Gangsta wannabe, prolly Gronk on the ole pup list, Brandon loyds 900 freakin Yards, and Danny " give me some " wood head.. There's no freakin way there not gonna feel that..Brady's great, but press their weapons off the line and pressure..they don't have the talent to win outside matchups, they will not have the talent to win in their 12 personnel. It's kinda like us thinking that Charlie clay will replace Dustin Kellers talent...lol..
You're going to be sadly disappointed with a lot of that. Gronk won't go on the PUP. Vereen, Thompkins, Dobson, and Sudfield will all be involved. Good ground game w Ridley/Vereen too. Nobody without a good passrush will hang with them, imo.
I hate Brady. I hate Patriots. Untilll prorven otherwise, they will be the crop of AFC East. I've heard this "Brady is washed up" talk too many damn times. I hope Im wrong, but I still got them winning 11 games.
they will feel the losses over a 16 game schedule Slick..Sudfield, Tompkins and Dobson are not gonna replace what they lost..Gronk better be healthy for their sake.
Meh Hernandez wasn't a picture of health and Lloyd was garbage most of the year. When Gronk is healthy they'll be fine.
loyd had over 900 yards with all of last years weapons in play, that some production..they cannot afford an injury to their weaponry.,.
Towards the very end of the year. He didn't do **** for most of the season. They also added Amendola so I def wouldn't say they're that thin.
Reggie looked slick out there. While Reggie had his haters among dolphins fans, I always liked him. And I hoped we would resign him. Hope he has a great year in Detroit.
Doubt it, considering I've made this prediction every year for the last decade and the only time I was wrong was when Brady got hurt.
The only injury to their new squad was Gronk from last year, so you gotta think that someone will get injured in those units, I don't think your taking into account rookie play over the course of a season, they will be relying on Dobson,Thompkins and Sudfield for production, and any rook third option getting 900 yards would be doing real good..
That's going to equal a lot more fumbles, dropped balls, bad routes, wrong routes, and failure to get open than Brady has had to deal with since I can't even remember. The book on Brady has always been to pressure him, the only thing he hates more than losing is getting hit. I think defenses will be more willing to blitz Brady this year, and take their chances with their DBs/LBs vs Dobson, Thompkins, etc, etc.
Not to beat a dead horse, but..... Take a look at the NE/Detroit game, the first fumble by the NE TE (zudfeld)...Grover Quin, SS was in just about the same situation as Swearinger was and instead of going low, he hit the guy in the torso and caused a fumble to boot...that, Mr. Swearinger, is how you tackle...
Lol...I was able to claim him off of waivers earlier in the week. Good thing I did so then...cuz...I was last in the waiver line....
I watched the game... Brady looked sharp save for the one INT. There were some fumbles that wont regulary happen. I dont think this means a whole lot. They are still better than us, until we prove otherwise.
I think the Lions are an improved team and Reggie Bush remains a far better RB than anyone the Dolphins now have on their roster at that position. It was a serious mistake to just let Bush sign somewhere else, while the Dolphins are stuck with Miller and Thomas as their main options at RB. Even though I think the Lions will be improved this year, I don't believe the Patriots have taken a step backwards. I still see them winning the AFC East with a 11-5 or 12-4 record. The Dolphins will be fighting with the Bills and Jets for second place in the division and they will probably finish the season 8-8 or 7-9 for the third year in a row. There are just too many questions on offense to expect the Dolphins to be anything but a mediocre team once again.
Yeesh...a lot of people creamin' their jeans because Reggie had a screen pass go a long way. Big hairy deal.
The Pats struggle against great d-lines. Detroit stuffed their run game. Brady looked good but didn't get many plays from his receivers and he did get some negative plays in the form of fumbles. Does this mean they're dead or dying? No, of course not. Two years ago in the third preseason game the same Detroit team spanked them as well. But it does reaffirm the formula for beating them. A strong d-line and a positive TO ratio. I think Miami has built a team that is very capable of doing the same thing Detroit did. I also think it's incredibly unlikely that NE has that ridiculous league leading TO ratio they had last season. Those have historically been cyclical. And frankly, NE's D last year would have been below average w/o those TOs. So even though I still see NE as a better team than Miami (although not more talented across the board), I don't see it as an automatic loss for Miami. I think we'll be a bad match-up for them. Also Detroit could have won by more, but they kept shooting themselves in the foot with dumb penalties. Over and over again you'd see some Detroit player pushing after the play or wagging his finger in someone's face or just generally jawing. Those 15 yard penalties made them settle for FGs when they should have been getting TDs. I think they're just too undisciplined, too punkish, to really be a good team despite some decent talent.
