So a day after a win and I'm pretty pissed off about a few things regarding the team: 1. We win a game by two scores and the only headline I see about the game is Wallace crying. I hope Philbin has a chat with him about how, in one sentence, he took the spotlight away from our teams win. The conversations should be about how Cameron Wake dominated the whole game from the first snap, not about how Wallace only had one catch. Childish and putting himself first. And also, kind of stupid in the fact that it brought MORE attention to the fact that he didn't play well. More people are aware now that he only caught one pass than if he had just kept his mouth shut. I want great things for Wallace and this offense so it's definitely a bummer to see. 2. Starks and his agent have said he was just playing around when he flipped the bird. How about you just don't do it in the first place? Stupid. Regardless of whether its true or not, beat writers are going to east that **** up and start claiming Philbin has no control. Just stupid. 3. When the refs picked up the helmet to helmet flag on Jackson when he hit tannehill cause "he tried not to do it". Are you ****ing kidding me? If RT's name is Brady, Manning, or Rodgers not only do they not pick up the flag, there might be a fine coming jacksons way. That was the most disrespectful call (or no call) I've seen in awhile against us. 4. How the **** did the jets win!? personal foul when your winning the gorram game?! 5. How did the pats win?! Can't you do anything right Buffalo??? Anyway, **** the colts. bring it on.
well actually, with this draft class coming up, with some potential franchise players in there, i don't mind the jets and bills win some early
I like our players having some emotion and swagger, we can't treat them like babies either. Let Starks fool around with his friends on the bench. What I'm mad about is the pace of our offense, I think we need to run more no huddle offense, speed it up. We are giving the opponent every chance to adjust, substitute and reset. It's ridiculous. And Tannehill, as praised as he is about his athleticism, he must be the slowest former WR ever. I have to see it to believe it that he played receiver. He needs better pocket awareness, needs to learn to move around the pocket better and should scramble more when the opportunity is there. I find it hard to believe that Aaron is faster than him but he sure looks like he is.
Did anyone here think - for even one moment - that the Patsies wouldn't come from behind and win that game when they are down less than a FG with 2 minutes left?
Made me think of this game in 2009 week 1 where the Bills led most of the game only to see Leodis McKelvin fumble on a KR with little time left on the clock, allowing NE another possession (on a short field) and the chance to score a TD to win.
No one mentioning Dio's faux sack/facemask over Joe Thomas? Thomas is considered an "elite" Left Tackle.
You know I was thinking during the game..."why the **** dont they try some hurry up?!" in the first half. After that impressive offensive drive for the score (85 yds I want to say?) I was trying to figure out why it suddenly looked like a COMPLETELY different team. I realized shortly after that they were in a big time hurry up offensive play style when it was all clicking. Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly though. Or - did we just get lucky with a personnel connection and start badgering them violently while we had the advantage? Anyone with more insight would be appreciated. It really seemed to make a night and day difference. I know you can't do that EVERY drive, but it sure seemed worth splashing in far more than we did early.
No, yesterday I was thinking we didn't run as much hurry-up/up-tempo as I thought we would. Maybe I was mis-remembering after the game (and now) though.
I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE the Colts. I HAAAAAAAAATE that whiskey nosed queen Irsay. He tanked the season for Luck. Sucked joyfully...gleefully for him. I want to bury these sandbaggin sons of *****es. I was livid at last years loss. And we draw them twice in INDY?!!! Bull****! They can't play for **** on the road, and I'm pretty confident we'd handle them at home. We better handle them next week. Enough of this baby steps crap. BE GREAT! Beat these punks!!! That's why I'm angry anyway.
I don't necessarily disagree, I was just thinking that perhaps speeding up the tempo might have kept the D on their heels more and helped the run game. Maybe it was beyond help yesterday.
im far more confident in that game now then I was going into sunday. Cameron Wake is going to be licking his chops.
I am confident in Philbin and Wallace and most of the team . I am not confident in Sherman, Ireland and the oline .
So a day after a win and I'm pretty pissed off about a few things regarding the team: 1. We win a game by two scores and the only headline I see about the game is Wallace crying. More people are aware now that he only caught one pass than if he had just kept his mouth shut. I want great things for Wallace and this offense so it's definitely a bummer to see. The coaches said that him getting mad is just him showing his competitive side. Sherman had no issue with it and Philbin said he wants his players to want to contribute and him being angry about his game is him wanting to contribute. The media is the media and no matter if Wallace had said that or not they would focus on something negative after all of their "Miami will be a bust" predictions. 2. Starks and his agent have said he was just playing around when he flipped the bird. How about you just don't do it in the first place? Stupid. Regardless of whether its true or not, beat writers are going to east that **** up and start claiming Philbin has no control. Just stupid. If we have learned anything from the beat writers it is that they will eat any negative thing up. If it weren't for this then all the focus would be on the run game and more attention to our RB. Also, I see it as Starks just messing around with a teammate. It wasn't obvious either, he tried to do it quickly, but the shot got him and the one picture of it is now everywhere. I would usually agree here, but in this case it was a good call by the ref. I usually go against the refs but the call makes sense. It is difficult for players going full speed at the qb to stop almost instantaneously. He was going to hit with his head down, and once Tannehill threw it he tried to slow down and raised his head to not hit him, but that resulted in a head to head hit. He was trying to stop. 4. How the **** did the jets win!? personal foul when your winning the gorram game?! Just pure luck... The Bucs are the kind of team that spend big in FA but get nowhere because they don't focus as much on the qb position. Most experts compared us to them this offseason with our big spending, but the difference is we actually have a bright young star at qb in Tannehill. 5. How did the pats win?! Can't you do anything right Buffalo??? Plain and simple, Tom Brady. Can never count that team out when he is taking the snaps. Anyway, **** the colts. bring it on. My attempt to brighten your day haha. It is what it is, no need to get mad over it. We need to win more games to change that. I have to heavily disagree with you here. Go back and watch the play over a few times. You can clearly see the defender leaned his head into Tanny's on that play. By picking up that flag, they're going against EVERY recent rule and focus on protecting helmet hits and the related concussion stuff. It wasn't a monster hit by any measure, but he sure as hell dipped his head toward Tanny's helmet. If you think Brady/Manning/Luck/Other Manning wouldn't have gotten that call, you're missing some things.
I wrote from what I remember from what happened on the play. Is there a link to be able to re-watch the game? I would like to re-see it, but I was working off a day old memory
I was STUNNED it got picked up. I didn't know there was even a discussion that could cause that flag to get picked up. We've seen so many minor taps and hands to the helmet get called for this. That was a straight up airborne collision. I couldn't believe it. It was a 3rd down and a big one at the time. It would have given us the ball around their 25 I think with a fresh set of downs and I personally think that's the only reason it got picked up. Would have changed the game drastically.
It can still be taken away until tomorrow sometime (maybe even later). Stat corrections aren't entirely uncommon.
A nice swear reference from the show 'Firefly'. Awesome (but tragically short) show... like Fall Guy/A-Team awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPRlHwwVIug
Now I'm worried about Deej, we have not seen nor heard from him since Wake dominated yesterday then Dio got his first sack. I'm worried about possible autofixation.
Maybe he told the bride that she wasn't taking proper care of her body when her and her husband were cutting their cake, and she took it too far the wrong way.
