I just wish the MEDIA would stop saying he is a "converted WR" playing QB.....if they really cared to know his background, it would be most accurately stated that he was a QB (HS all the way to being recruited for College), who was athletic enough to play WR while he waited to return to QB.

Its just stupid to make it seem like this kid said, hmmm...lets try to play QB the middle of my Junior year of College.

Not sure anyone expected us to be 0-2.
I think all people are saying the bext 3 games will be real tests and will be a good gauge as to where we are. Nobody - at least Im not - tempering anything, Im just say road starts get tougher starting Sunday.

I think we're seeing now why the coaches seemed excited to have both Keller and Clay on the field at the same time back in training camp. As much as Clay is helping relieve the loss of Keller (it's really a group effort thing with Gibson helping as well), having both guys would have made the offense even more dangerous, at least imo.

I think some of that comes from the type of Qb he was in high school which was an exclusive wishbone Qb who admittedly threw the ball about a dozen times a year.

Yeah, most pundits had us losing to the Browns and Colts. Many people on this board did not have us at 2-0. And this:
...definitely means to not get excited yet.

The next 3 weeks we have the heavy hitters. I hope people are just as happy 3 weeks from now regardless of the results. Atlanta, New Orleans, Baltimore. I'm hoping for at least 1 win. Would be too excited if we got 2. Might die if we get all 3.

And 1 out of the last 2 was a heavy hitter as well.

I think its peculiar people are acting like the Colts was a circled win on our schedule. Hell, most pundits had us losing to Cleveland too.

I may be missing some other ones, but yesterday, I thought Tannehill made two just elite, outstanding throws that not every QB makes, only the great ones.

    1) The back shoulder pass to Clay with the LBer's back turned but in pretty good coverage and the safety baring down. Hit Clay just before the safety went for it and missed and then Clay was off to the races... in a race he ended up losing to LaRon Landry. Still, we ended up scoring. All good. But the pass was magnificent.

    2) I believe Hartline actually lined up in the slot, beat his man off the line but only by a yard at most, and ran a vertical seam. Tannehill lofted a perfect pass that dropped right into Hartline's breadbasket only two steps before the safety got there. Really good catch by Hartline, too, but the throw couldn't have been more perfect to my eyes.

I'm no trained expert, and someone else who knows more may dispute the throws, but from these layman eyes, those two throws were fantastic and throws into tight, tight windows, and rarely do I see QBs make such pinpoint throws. To me, Tannehill is growing up fast.

Yeah a lot of those same people were saying they'd be happy if we could just at least be 2-3 in our first 5. Well, we just guaranteed that it can't be worse than that and we still haven't played our best yet.

I'm going to go ahead and say it, if our running game is as good as the Colts game suggested we are one of the more complete teams in the league....(not counting depth).

if there is one blunder on RT's game last night, the first pass to wallace, that was actually pretty good leading him to the ground with lots of defenders next to him....but on that play, lamar miller went totally uncovered down the left sideline, we scored on that drive anyways, so its a non issue...i'm so happy for tannehill, all of my buddies who were laughing at the start of the season...sure don't laugh anymore

The Browns showed Ravens that their defense, especially their run defense, was no joke. What they did against our run game wasn't that much of a fluke. The Ravens averaged more than we did, sure, but they were under 100 yards, under a three-yard average... the Browns have a stout run D. At home, you could kind of understand why the media favored the Browns over the unproven Dolphins... but we won.

Then, also, I'd add, right now (and more pertinent to your post), the Colts look like more of a heavy-hitter than the Ravens do. The Ravens are Super Bowl champs, but they lost a good deal. The Colts are a really good team, basically everybody has them on the rise, and yesterday, aside from losing, did nothing to take away from that. They look like a good team and a team playing better than the Ravens at this point.

    So far, so do we.

I'm of the opinion that faint heart NEVER won fair hand so I'm all in for our team.

Most pundits had us losing to the Browns and no one gave us a chance against the Colts yet we won them both, on the road. Which equals our 2012 road win already!

As for the upcoming "heavy hitters" I say give us your BEST shot because I could see us coming out of this period with a 4-1/5-0 record with our only loss coming in the Superdome to NO ...... Mebby!

Disagree. This team needs to hear that they are good..so it builds into their disposition.

Confidence is as important an intangible as any other.

  25. Not to mention they need to get use to being expected to win.

Different teams need to hear different things. The Patriots like to stay grounded. At least their coach wants it that way. It's all about coaching style.

San Diego Chargers in their heyday heard how great they were. So we saw them Saturday night at night clubs the day before a game partying it up. Vincent Jackson shoved my buddy who told him to be smart and get a designated driver, like one of his homeboys lol. My buddy is an idiot. But his advice was good.

Philbin so far seems to have the team in check so they won't unravel like the Chargers but different strokes for different folks. They know they're 2-0. Being confident is one thing. Getting trapped is another, Time will tell.

Yes, but the thing is, many people on this board were saying, "ya they've improved bla bla...we'll never even go 2-3..." "I'll be shocked if we don't go 1-4" etc etc. There were several more predicting 9-7/10-6 with a shot at the playoffs too though. And it's true, predictions can go either way, but I was expecting 2-3 at the worse case, and that's what it is at this point, so I'm ecstatic right now with my team!! I've been wrong before, and I'll likely be wrong again, of course, but I'll NEVER sell them short...I couldn't call myself a Dolphins fan if I did.

Everybody at work is even noticing and they're like, "damn, Miami 2-0?" And I'm like, "WTF have I been sqwaking for the past 3 months yo!"

I'm fully in the "believe!" mode. If I get let down, so f'n what, wouldn't be the first time and definitely won't be the last, at least I had the hope.

I'm filled with optimism and hope right now because of the youth of this team, and for how this team adapts and plays disciplined ball within it's system. They've shown that. As a team, we haven't had a game played anywhere CLOSE to their potential to this point. There's always some little dumb mistakes, mis-reads that should've been obvious, dropped passes/slightly off target passes, Carroll looking like a swivel head doll while standing still and the game going past him, Jordan doing the bump with Luck, etc. If we clean up that stuff and scheme well on D (which they've shown the propensity to do so far), we're going 4-1 to start the season fellas, with a loss at N.O.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Looking for Miami to come in around 13th or 14th in the Power Rankings this week, I have 'em at about 11th. People are starting to talk about 'em. In the end it really doesn't mean jack, it's just fodder for the critics and fans. Win against Atlanta and then we'll be taken seriously.

That's not what it means. ;)

I'm saying don't go off the deep end. I'm excited as hell! But I'm not ready to proclaim us Super Bowl favorites or Tannehill the best young QB in the league. I'm looking forward to what we learn the next three games.

A month ago we were mostly saying if we could start the season at 2-3 we would have a great shot at the playoffs, well folks, 2-3 is the worst we can start this season now, and I think either the Saints or Ravens are beatable, in fact so could the Falcons be.

Very happy with Tannehill so far, though he needs to stop taking so many sacks, step up into the pocket, throw the ball away, not hold on so long, but I agree we got ourselves a QB!
