8 minutes into his season and he already matched Hartline's TD total for last season with Brian Hoyer throwing him the ball.

    TRADE FOR HIM JEFFY!!!!!

    This.

    I'd trade Brandon Gibson though.

Browns are probably going to be asking a 1st round pick after today.

Maybe the same thing that the Richardson trade indicates, that the Browns are in fire sale mode. They gave up on Richardson awfully quickly- everyone has their own opinions, but mine is that with Weeden, Richardson, Gordon, Cameron and Joe Thomas they had a nucleus of offensive talent to build upon, and now it looks like they want to tear it all down. I'd be skeptical if I were the Browns owner, not a fan of what they're doing and apparently intend on doing.

Amen! I wouldn't be so easy to give up Hartline. He's the kind of guy you want in your locker room and on your team.

Didn't the Browns just ask the city of Cleveland for money to upgrade the stadium?
I think when they traded their best player on offense away, the message is clear that nobody is safe and their jobs are on line.

I've never been the biggest fan of Hartline, but he is playing well and in sync with Tannehill. That being said, Gordon is quite a talent and would be a heck of an addition to our WR unit imo- he's big and he's fast, along with being just a really good WR. I'd definitely explore trading for him, with the caveat that I don't know to what extent he's been a true problem child in Cleveland.

He got in trouble smoking weed at Baylor iirc- not good, but there are worse things to get in trouble for. At Cleveland:

"Gordon acknowledged if he violates the league's substance abuse policy one more time he will face a season-long suspension. The NFL did not detail his recent violation, but Gordon said he took doctor-prescribed cough syrup with the banned substance codeine in it in February when he had strep throat."

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/browns-welcome-gordon-back-suspension-223831512--nfl.html

    That's pretty minor stuff imo.

It may have been said already but, he's one strike away from a year long suspension.

    Pass.

You really think he only took codeine cough syrup when he had strep throat? That's a very popular drug among NFL players and I wouldn't take this guy's word for it.

The NFL doesn't release what substance the player took so every player always says that it was something minor like that. I wouldn't trust them.

So every time a player of need becomes available the Phins should trade or offer a contract? Unless you need the player at position it's not very smart. The salary cap and other position needs won't allow a team to do this and be a winning organization. As to getting him? If the price is right do it. But not at the cost of ditching Hartline.

Hmm. I guess different strokes for different folks.

I love players who work hard, fight the whole game, run great routes and catch everything. I love the connection him and RTH seem to have. I'd much rather have a player like him versus a guy who has talent/potential and makes bad decisions.

Imo if you get the chance to trade for a player of Gordon's talent, especially in this age of the passing game, you look into it. That doesn't mean that you're necessarily looking to trade Hartline and it doesn't mean that you don't do your due diligence as per character and player risk. Getting Wallace and to a lesser extent Gibson took our WR crew from downright crappy to good- nothing wrong with adding talent to the unit if the price is right and Gordon checks out.

Hartline is PFF's #4 WR guys.

I'd like Gordon but Wallace/Hartline would be untouchable in any trade. Gibson could go yes.

That #4 WR ranking would mean a lot more after 16 games as opposed to 2 games.

I will catch flack for this but I would love to bring Weeden in as the #2 guy because our 2 team qb isn't all that good so I would forget about B.W. age and this will allow us to have a back up with good weapons can sure play better with good talent.

I think my heart's desire is to find another running back to replace Daniel Thomas . and another olineman would not kill us .

what Miami could use is another big running back and offensive tackle .

No doc I ever went to prescribed cough syrup for strep. They prescribe the right antibiotic and the pain from the strep is gone in a few hours max.

Well, Moore is a good backup imo, but if we could get Weeden on the cheap I'd look into it. I'm still a fan of his, and I think that the Browns are giving up on him and Richardson (Gordon, etc.) way too early. Weeden has low mileage- no reason he can't play until he's 38 or so.

I agree. Since I think Schefter is a dweeb, it would be great to see him be wrong about trading Gordon

Gordon, Richardson and Weeden can play ball, I would be disgusted right now if I were a Browns fan.

I was all over Gordon coming out. I think today we know who our fourth guy is but Gordon would put us in unstoppable territory.

We have won 8 or 9 straight scoring 23 or more and with teams like the Saints on the schedule, we'll need firepower.

I like Gordon, but trading Hartline would be a dumb move. I'd explore it for a pick. I'd jump on it for a third.
