Did none of you geeks watch this last night? I thought it was great and Coulson was quite funny. Lots of great references to the movies and classic Whedon moments. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
I DVR'ed it but haven't had a chance to watch it. The previews really didn't do much for me and not sure how interested I am in seeing a Shield show without any of the Avenger characters involved. I know it got a monster rating last night and the more successful it is the better for more comics to get movies and TV shows made so I'm rooting for it.
Of course I did. It was pretty good. Coulson was very good and I'm waiting to see the back story with him "thinking he was in (was it?) Tahiti" and then Agent Hill says “he can never know.” Hmmmmmmmm
Its a cost thing....but man this show still looks expensive to make. Did you guys see the Serenity weapon in the coning soon? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkKiXBJmPfs&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I also noticed when they went in the bay of their giant mobile HQ airplane that it reminded me of the holding bay in serenity a lot. And of course the preacher is now a S.H.I.E.L.D. Doctor
I forgot to DVR this, but I wasn't too excited with the previews. I was figuring it's probably going to be just another "Heroes" with Marvel stamped on it. If there aren't going to be any real Marvel superheroes I'm probably not interested.
They will have to have at least Tony Stark make an appearance. He doesn't have to dress as Iron Man, though it would be nice.
I liked it. It was fun, exactly like I thought it would be. Its not a Heroes clone at all. Its got a lot of humor and decent action. Its more like Whedon's other shows....ensemble cast, funny, action, save the world, etc. I think we'll find Coulson is a clone/robot etc. I think Cobie Smolders will become a regular since HIMYM is about to end and they need a boss. The only 2 people they've ever set up as above Coulston is her and Samuel L. Jackson, and he's not going to be on the show, other than maybe a cameo.
I watched about 5 minutes and turned it off. I won't say I gave it a fair shake, but I didn't like it.
That's ok. By the way, I heard a new movie team up is happening that sounds up your alley....Matlock, Murder She Wrote & Diagnosis Murder all team up to take down even more rich white people who commit murder. They call themselves The Early Birds. You'll love it.
If its anything like typical Joss shows the first 5/6 episodes is getting used to the characters....monster of the week. Then things tend to get much deeper as the season storylines begin.
Just finished watching the first episode. I thought it was ok. Not sure I see myself sticking around to keep watching it.
Thoughts on episode two? I enjoyed it, and I like how they are building the team. Also love all the references to the previous films. The Samuel L Jackson cameo in this episode was great. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Spoiler So, do u folks this Sky is a spy? The last scene seemed so with the secret text & her replying I'm in.
Its fun. Its not deep or particularly good, just fun. Its basically a comic book, which is all I wanted from it.
I like it. So far there has been a few nods to the comics Spoiler Possible Kree body, Deathlok, Graviton, Blizzard, and Hand also nobody knows who the Clairvoyant is I think it could be Spoiler The Leader, Taskmaster, or Klaw and where this Skye storyline is going Spoiler I think we might find out here real name is Carol Danvers
It started slowly, and actually had me worried because I had such high hopes, but I really like the direction that the show has taken the last four or five episodes, and am really glad that its getting pretty good ratings, as shows that I enjoy often don't. The writers and actors seem to have "found" the characters, and there's a good bit of back and forth going on. Very hopeful that it all continues. Great shows with Wheadon behind them have met sad fates in the past, of course.
Captain America 2 Twist? "We Were In Shock," says star of ABC's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' Warning: MAJOR spoiler for 'Winter Soldier'. Spoiler http://tvline.com/2014/04/04/agents-of-shield-reaction-to-captain-america-winter-soldier-twist/ If you’re an avid consumer of both the Marvel superhero films and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain America: The Winter Soldier (hitting U.S. theaters today) will — spoiler alert! — leave you with a flurry of burning questions, if not outright concern for the TV series’ fate. ...Ming-Na Wen perhaps sums up the cast’s collective response thusly: “We just kind of said, ‘Um… so what happens to our show?’”
Someone said this was going to mirror the "Nick Fury vs. SHIELD" storyline from the comics in the '80s.

I won't be able to see The Winter Soldier in the theatre because my wife and I won't be able to have anyone watch our kids. Should I leave the last few episodes of SHIELD unwatched on the DVR until I can see it on BlueRay later this year?
I wouldn't. Spoilers already abound, and it's inevitable that you'll know the basic premise of the changes very soon, if you don't already.
http://tvline.com/2014/04/09/marvels-agents-of-shield-cobie-smulders-returns-agent-maria-hill/ Hotness.
It seemed like the previews showed that was going to stay the arc for a bit. However, I think the out will be: Spoiler there maybe a real clairvoyant controlling ward
S.H.I.E.L.D. Bosses: Coulson's Crisis, Ward's Dark Side... http://tvline.com/2014/04/15/agents-of-shield-spoilers-providence-season-1/
I didn't see the ending of last weeks episode coming. Would of never guessed it would be them. Show has gotten my attention again since I was starting to get bored of it. -Sent from my TMO Samsung Galaxy Note 3 using Tapatalk
Yup. Either he turns against Hydra for Skye or he's going to be a long running villain in this world.
Ward's story will follow the usual Judeo-Christian model of bull**** redemption/punishment; he'll be bad, then in his last act do a good thing that saves the team (but especially the thoroughly delectable Skye), and then die. It's how you keep that rancher in Iowa from raising hell when bad guys aren't duly punished. It's why Walter White couldn't end his long, LONG life luxuriating in the south Pacific, drinking rum runners and getting daily happy endings from local whores.
