Again it's the line? Seriously are you guys watching? The only time I saw a guy lose in a direct matchup was Incognito at the end. It's coaching plain and simple. They had something like three unblocked sacks, terrible blitz pickup and one garbage sack against Incognito.
I'm not a child and therefore I don't whine about the calls of a ref. The Dolphins didn't show up to play in the second half and that is why they lost. The OL gave up six sacks and the running game disappeared. The offense scored zero points in the second half and the defense reverted to playing the type of defense it has over the past four losses. This Dolphin team just isn't very good and it seems many people want to constantly blame the refs for the losses of the Dolphins. The Dolphins sucked in the second half and didn't deserve to win this game .
Gibson and Keller both got injured playing for us. What's that got to do with the draft? That could have been anyone. Your point is mostly valid but those two damage it.
You have to draft another quarterback especially in a deep draft like this, it won't get deeper than this for another few years. If Tannehill isn't the guy we'll be set back even further. We need another option period. Quarterback play can not be ignored and Tannehill does not display any leadership qualities on the field. He's a puppet on the field while the Patriots have a general.
I said it the minute we drafted Sturgis. I still say it. Sturgis is better. Carp isn't lousy. He is a middling NFL kicker. Carpenter made 3 chip shots against us. Whoop te do. Ask him to make a 45 yarder on the road to win a game, and he is Dan Slice.
Im starting to warm up to this idea. The flat performance of this team in the second half, compared to the first half is unacceptable. Sure, getting raped by the officials has to be demoralizing for the entire team to sit there and watch that, knowing you have to beat a good team, and overcome those brutal calls... but still... a well coached team should overcome that adversity, or at least play like they want to.
Good news to Miami citizens, the actual good team of Miami will bring some respect back to the city on Tuesday night in the American Airlines Arena.
I want one of the MANY Jeff Ireland supporters to give me a single reason why he should be retained. One. I'm moving on to the staff as well. I think Kevin Coyle is totally over matched. I think Philbin is sinking.
Me too. I started this season with no-one on my ignore list...I now have four. Quoting them negates all the hard work!
I'm not one that complains much about the refereeing either, but they did have quite an impact on this game. That being said, they took it to us the 2nd half.
And just keep shuffling the qb cards hoping for a turn up? How about some continuity? How about placing him in a position to win? The jags have a bad qb and are purposely killing him to make it slightly better next year. We all came in this season saying RT was the guy, now after a few bad games we burn him? Short termism. That's the major problem here.
It's the line at crucial times that's what hurts. This was play calling tho. 2nd and 2 calls a fade pattern to Wallace at start of third after we 3 n out them. 3rd down tannehill gets sacked then Sturgis hits the post. Get conservative and run it on 2nd they couldn't stop the run. That was the turning point.
Do we even want to win at this point. Keep pulling an Indy like they did 2 years ago then get some decent coaches.
TELL ME WHAT WENT WRONG BESIDES ALL THE BS REF CALLS? EVERYONE KNEW THEY WERE PASSING IN THE 4th WHEN THE GAME WAS OUT OF REACH. It had nothing to do with the lose. They blitzed.... Yep, I used caps. what's it to ya? We did have this game in hand and when the Refs let the game go their way, WE LOST!!!! What's the story??????????? Nevermind. This **** is futile.
here, let me fix this for you. "Quarterback play can not be ignored. Tannehill is midway through his 2nd year while the Patriots have a 14 year veteran."
He doesn't. He's a good, young quarterback. He's getting torpedoed by playcalling and the worst offensive line n the league. I'm leaning more towards poor play calling now. The first half game plan was perfect, as soon as the Patriots changed the way they were attacking us in the 2nd half Sherman and Philbin made horrific adjustments. There is a reason Mike Sherman has been fired before, he is not all that good.
I agree it is the coaching, but unless Ross is willing to fire Ireland, I don't see any changes taking place with the coaches either. I just don't think any quality HC would want to come to the Dolphins as long as Ireland is the person making personnel decisions for this team. It is probably time to fire Ireland and let the next GM hire his own HC. As far as Tannehill goes, the next HC will have to make the determination if he is the right man for the job or not. I do agree though that with this OL the Dolphin have right now, even the best QB's in the history of the NFL would have trouble winning games. Of course Ireland is the man responsible for selecting players for this OL and the coaches have done a terrible job in coaching the players on the OL.
Because he didn't pass-block effectively on plays that resulted in a pressure or a sack. He looked slow. Which is probably the reason why the Ravens sat him down. Now go take your frustrations out on someone else.
Philbin and his staff are just not very good. Time management and play calling in the second half were terrible. Tannehill is still playing like a raw rookie QB. The Offensive line is a joke. Wallace keeps dropping balls. The Defense gave up in the second half , I guess you really can't blame them the way the offense were screwing them. The Dolphins defense is no where near elite, they are just above average. Ireland failed to build a team that can compete in a very weak division this year. In a critical must win game that they started out playing well in, then proceed to fall apart in the second half, proving that they are not ready. I don't think Ireland should get to play out the extension that Ross foolishly gave him. Let him collect a paycheck sitting at home on his couch where he belongs.
On a side note... MAtt Stafford, and Calvin Johnson are ridiculous. What an end to that game. Stafford is unreal. Unreal
Ryan tannehill is never going to be an above average qb, let alone a franchise qb, maybe he'll be a good NFL receiver? His pocket presence is awful, he is terrible at managing the clock, his awareness at the los for identifying the blitzer and making the hot read is awful.
I say draft a qb for sure. Tannehill is not a good qb. 55% passing, poor pocket presence, turnover prone
Mike Wallace needs to go to the bench. It's not all his fault but him being on the field is hurting us. If he's not dropping passes then RT is forcing him the ball in double coverage. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
