My only thought was that maybe the holding happened later. The play went on for a while and we only saw the first couple of seconds on the replay.

If that was all the action in that side of the field though then it was a horrible call

absolutely. We would have shut them out in the first half... at least 17 to nothing if not more. And then you stop them to begin the second half... we're driving, 2nd and 2 after the Wallace reverse... suddenly a missed fg there isn't so bad.

New England's offense had 0 pts and 42 total yards just prior to halftime before the refs stepped in and decided it was time to help them move the chains. Looks like the Patriots couldn't handle adversity w/o the aid of the refs.

god damn Wallace on that INT... does he not know to high point a ball over? At least break it up. Instead he's running towards the endzone as if the ball is going to magically not get touched by the safety .

Brady had 25 yards passing. We were playing a perfect game just like Philbin wanted. Sure the Pats are going to make an atempt to come back in the second half.... we would have expected nothing less.

IDK I thought it looked pretty blatant upon replay..... plus Patterson was furious about it.

He does have a habit of falling away into catches but that's his game. He's a 6'0" burner, not Calvin Johnson. I don't fault DeSean Jackson for not high pointing passes.

But it also comes back to body control. We lack it and also **** this coaching staff for ignoring Rishard Matthews.

was it the same asshat who called the bogus PI on Jimmy Wilson for going for the ball against Gronk?

I may be wrong but it looked a lot like Patterson got mad a little late to save himself some humiliation. It certainly got CBS to repay the play. I saw some push, but Patterson really rocketed down the sideline.

For the Vernon call I think the fingers tell the story. If you're trying to swat you keep your fingers straight, if you're trying to grab a football your fingers will try to close to grip the football.

    Lol, NICE comparison.

The NBA 2-3 stars can pair up via free agency and dominate. And bad calls in bball aren't nearly as detrimental in football.

    Funny

The rule calls for a penalty if a player DELIBERATELY swats the ball. There's no way to tell of he was or he wasn't so it should have been a no call, period.

Seems like Simms said the flag on Wilson came from behind the play, so I guess the field judge. Not the same as who made the call and non call on Patterson

I've read the whole thread but feel like the OP needs a reply

First off, don't quit the team. My advice to make peace with yourself and this team. They stink. The franchise is undeserving of your emotional investment. You can peel this back without quitting them entirely.

Believe it or not, I wasn't that angry today. Last week the Buffalo game ruined my day and night. I knew I had to change my approach. Its a decision to allow the highs and lows of the game affect you. Until this team gets better, don't waste your emotions on it.

I was pretty pissed at the bogus defensive PI that was the biggest bull**** call in the game. The refs seemed to make up for the defensive holding call they called on the next play which nullified the Gronk TD and I agree with the intentional batting of the fumble.

I get everyone is mad but there is no agenda. We didn't lose because of the refs. Don't let confirmation bias get the best of you.

    Lmao good point!!!

Basketball refs need to make bad calls bunches in order to really swing a game. NFL refs can do it one or two.

Let me know when baskets start counting 7 points and when 75% of the opposing team's buckets come via bad ref calls. You'd need like 35 bad ref calls in basketball to equal the handful Miami saw today in football.

It's not just the gift-wrapped points that made us lose...the constant break up of our flow and morale and the constant handicapping the NE team which was being booed by their own classless fans at one point.

When you are constantly robbed of a game changing plays...with ridiculous batting penalties and the like....what motivation is there to go out there and get yourself injured, and possibly miss a season or end your career giving it 110% when you have no confidence that the officials will even let your hard-work stand?

Can you say for certain that NE would've overcome their terrible first half and 17 point deficit to win the game without the aid of those calls?
As bad as we were in the 2nd half, our 17 first half points should've been enough to win the game without the refs stepping in. That's the skinny of it.

Could you imagine how out-of-hand the game would've gotten had the refs made major bull**** calls in OUR favor instead? It'd would've been like a 30-6 game and New England would've NEVER recovered.

make no mistake... I'm not quitting the team. I'm quitting the NFL. We have had way worse Dolphins' teams that if I was ever going to quit on them, I would have done so... this team is actually competitive on a weekly basis. Even the Saints game for the first half, they were competitive. This is about the state of the game. The softness of the league. The absurdity of the new CBA. Does anyone wonder why exactly the NFL has so many injuries this year? It's because players are barely allowed to hit in practice anymore. the product has gotten worse and worse the last few years...

And then there's the refs. I've complained about them before certainly. Costing us here or there but usually teams find ways to lose on their own and that stuff evens out eventually. This was absurd. The fans that believed in this team today (like i did) are the most upset. The ones that gave us no chance not surprisingly don't seem to care that the refs ****ed us. Interesting how that is.

You can have this conversation with every other fan of a team that lost with bad calls. They happen there is no hidden agenda. I chalk it up as Miami Dolphins are a bad football team not that we got screwed out of a win.

Buddy...we are in a division with a team notorious for having lots of home-friendly officiating year after year. These aren't some rookie refs or one-off circumstances...this is well documented BS and if Kraft and/or BB, or TB have nothing to do with it then i'll change my name to Cleo Lemons.

Seems like the TOs by the QBs today are being treated unequally by a lot of posters. Tannehill's pick (no I'm not counting the second one) and strip fumble are seen as disastrous whereas as Brady's INT and fumble not so. Why? The only difference was that Brady got his fumble rewarded with 40 yards of field position whereas Ryan did not.

I agree with you on the OV batting call. The PI calls on Wilson was atrocious and on Patterson ticky tat. They didn't call the unecessary roughness on Tannehill cause they haven't all year even though there have been blantant instances of it. There also looked like a missed facemask on one of his sacks.

The questionable calls killed the defense. The Pats only converted 2 of 10 3rd downs on their own. These are game changing calls. The refs played as big a factor in this game as our offensive and special team gaffs.

bull ****... the Dolphins aren't a bad football team. A bad football team would have gone up there and got blown out (how'd the Jags do in London today?) How'd the Jets do today? We ran the ball 31 times today for 156 yards... do bad football teams do that? Do bad football teams take a 14 point lead on the road against a supposed super bowl contender? Bad football team my ***.

BTW, the Patriots are not THAT good this year. One thing I might have to watch is their impending demise in the playoffs (assuming they make it there). They might actually bring me back for one game. maybe...
