If Miami wants to take a player off another practice squad they can do that all year, right? That has been my understanding. If so, I believe that will be one direction Miami goes in at the wr position.
You are right on having to keep them on the roster for a specified time, which I believe to be three weeks.
yeah it's three weeks... they can release the player before then, but they don't open up a roster spot on the 53 to add another player... the three weeks of salary is guaranteed in other words. Also: and I also believe that practice squad players are paid for the playoffs as well. And that a playoff team can sign a practice squad member from a non playoff team during the playoffs. This is also interesting: http://www.steeleraddicts.com/2012/...rvefutures-contracts-in-the-nfl/#.UnBTYvnOlmg The Monday after the regular season ends these guys are then eligible for these futures contracts. So maybe a playoff team can't add a player that has been signed to a futures contract.
We should poach Michael Bamiro and if the 49ers don't stash Luke Marquardt on IR we should target him as well. Cut Yeatman and Clabo.
It seems pretty obvious Gibson is done for the year. Why the delay in placing him on IR and signing a replacement? Especially considering there is a game in 2 days...
He has been placed in IR and they have been trying out receivers. Safe to say they will just place Thigpen as the receiver in the depth chart.
