Yes we can, I agree and Ireland needs to be fired and soon . how can any team be so dysfunctional as this ? WE need some good news and a win against a below .500 team wont be enough to erase this garbage.

I'm happy to wait for the results of the investigation as to what went on in the organization. I doubt this golf course incident will be part of it considering the woman cannot be interviewed due to the confidentiality agreement.

As to the incident itself, what difference would her reputation make? Was she asking for it?

Point being, there is absolutely no reason for you to disbelieve a police report filed more than a year before anyone would have had any reason to lie about something richie Incognito did. Now, sure, maybe new reports are less credible since anybody with an axe to grind has the opportunity to pile on.

But I don't need anymore evidence to know that Richie Incognito is a rude, narcissitic jerk, who I don't want on my football team any more. Even if you only take what we 100% know is true about him, all his past incidents, the voice mails, the video where he is running around crazy yelling the n-word.

None of this is stuff I want one of my team leaders engaging in. That's it, end of story.

She could have been lying to get money. Let's not pretend people are above doing that.

As for the rest, you're making my point for me now.

It doesn't have a bearing on it though. Whether she accepted hush up money or not is not germane to the fact that Richie acted in that manner.

great post bro I am getting sick of people defending Incognito .

the crew on Fox sports all have been hard on this ball club and I cant say I disagree with them they are right about Incognito and he needs to be fired , not cut , not traded but fired.

Sure, she could have been lying. But you have less evidence for that then you do Richie being innocent.

But let's get down to brass tacks here. Are you proud to have Richie Incognito on the Dolphins? Would you want your kids looking up to him?

Throw out everything that you claim we don't have evidence for. We know 100% he was kicked out of both Nebraska and Oregon. He was cut by the Rams for his behavior. He wasn't asked back by Buffalo after a short stint. He left a vulgar voice mail. He was on tape without a shirt yelling the n-word.

Based on all that alone he's an embaressment to the organization.

I think between the charity golf incident, the Jonathan Martin allegations and now this allegation of harrassment of a staffer, we're getting a sense of which people are willing to look at different incidents and different circumstances objectively, evaluating their implications and value, and which people are kind of just voting along party lines no matter what.

If he's guilty of the golf stuff, he should be gone. The other stuff no. My wife and I joke with each other worse than what was on the voice mail. My wife and I. On the video he was doing an impersonation of Pouncey...with Pouncey right there laughing about it.

Again, you've already convicted him of all of this and you have virtually zero proof any of it either happened or happened the way it was accused. Considering there's an investigation going on, I'll reserve judgement.

One could make the argument that you're doing exactly the same when it comes to people in the media publishing unfavorable information about the club :shifty:

This is not a criminal court and it's irrelevant how you and your wife talk to each other.

As a business owner, does Stephen Ross want Richie Incognito representing his organization? He doesn't need to prove him guilty beyond all reasonable doubt to fire him. He left a vulgar voice mail (Ross doesn't have to care about the context), he was on video using one of the most offensive words in the English language (Ross doesn't have to care that Pouncey, another MENSA member, laughed).

If all we were talking about were the Martin voicemail, then you'd have a better argument. Maybe there is a context for that in which you'd strongly advise Richie that he is not to engage in that behavior anymore and give him another chance. But there is a lot more here.

Ross certainly knows by now exactly what happened at that golf course. And considering he didn't seem too keen on the idea of meeting with Richie at his press conference, I think the tea leaves are there for the reading.

We sort of do on Martin. They've been fairly clear that they didn't know about the issues until he left the team.

Let's presume that's true. That doesn't mean that they are still inclined to keep Incognito on the team after everything that's come to light about him recently

    You're changing the argument.

You asked ME what I thought not what Ross thought or could do. Joking with a co-worker is not an embarrassment. It was done privately.

I'm actually really shocked that the Dolphins didn't find a way to move on from Richie Incognito in the off season, given the incident he had at the golf tourney. So go the reports, there was no shortage of witnesses. What happened there is bad. What is written on the police report is bad. The fact that there's a gag order suggests an exchange of money for confidentiality. That has a bad look to it. Putting the organizationin in position of having to hide something like that has a bad look to it.

In the off season they got rid of guys like Reggie Bush, Karlos Dansby, Kevin Burnett and Sean Smith. I think it's reasonable to wonder why they wouldn't focus on moving on from a Richie Incognito considering the checkered history he's had and the fresh incident at the golf event. I understand that by the time it happened (mid-May 2012) the options for replacing Incognito were slim, and so him playing the 2012 season was understandable. But that was no longer the case in the 2013 off season. That's when they needed to remember that incident, stand up and say this guy is bad news and we need to insulate ourselves from whatever other trouble he might find himself in.

And I'm really surprised that didn't happen because of the media portrayal of Joe Philbin and Jeff Ireland as actively ridding the team of that kind of questionable behavior/personalities. The media portrayal could have been grossly inaccurate, though.

And this is where the organization is responsible.

This staffer probably heard things about other incidents, like the golf inciendent (and who knows what else has gone unreported?) and very correctly realized the power-in-charge were NOT going to be responsive or have his back if a player was mistreating him.

Top to bottom, there is a lack of faith by employees in this organization that it will do the right thing if you step forward and need help with being victimized.

The question that matters most to us AND investigators should be, WHY are these things not being reported internally? Why is no one comfortable using internal avenues to address wrongful treatment in that workplace? WHY are matter of wrongdoing seemingly ignored or covered up?

    Because THAT'S a major problem.

Let's presume that everything that came to light about Incognito was true. Let's presume the golf course incident did actually happen. Let's presume the woman actually contacted the Dolphins and asked for an apology. Here's what would have happened: Even if Incognito did what she said he'd done, and even if Incognito genuinely wanted to apologize for it, the team would've told him to never speak to that woman, ever. I'm not condining the behavior in any sense or form, but if it did happen, then there's a mighty good chance the club acted every bit as despicable as Incognito.

Proof of what, exactly? That Jason Cole, for instance, is inclined to make things up just to bury this franchise? Have you ever talked to Cole? I have, and "Dolphins hater" is not a word I'd use to describe him (not your choice of words, but you fist pumped it).

I'm not exactly sure what to believe, but it seems to me that both sides of the fence have their pitchforks ready and the stake burning. It's only their choice of perpetrators that's different.

Except the NFL will spin it that we are a bad organization, NOT that the whole league is riddled with this problem. I'd bet MOST lockerooms have versions of this stuff going on. Or at least a dozen or more.

But that would bring the sport itself into disrepute. Make America question football's morality. IN a year where the concussion issue sent a shot across the bow of the giant profitable ship that is the NFL, the LAST they want is anything people can use to accuse football as a sport of being culturally immoral for.

Also, this would intrinsically have to weaken the sentiment that Washington D.C. continue to give football special status due to it's place in Americana. If football erodes it's position as being in line with the culture of America, there is a lot at stake.

And people posting today about this issue may not see how all these pieces add up, but the men whispering in billionaires ears certainly understand it.

Certainly possible. Espescially considering they wouldn't even let Pouncey apologize for the "Free Hernandez" hat.

But Richie still "did the deed" so to speak. That alone is grounds for his release.

I just dont understand some people on here. They will defend or deflect all guilt away.Whether its blaming an "agenda driven media" or blaming this on Martin and now on this poor woman. The "I dont believe what I read" is weak....seem to only want to believe the good stuff(BTW There is no good stuff)

My question has always been why did Richie get the second chance Brandon Marshall didn't?

I get that the golf course incident happened after the draft, but they already knew about Richie's propensity for bad behavior prior to that.

I do wonder if Philbin's background as an OL coach causes him to cut the OL more slack. He knows those kinds of guys. that's who he has worked with. Whereas any receiver with a hint of diva or problems is somebody he doesn't want.

Could be way off base of course, but I do wonder.

Jason Cole is inclined to make things up to further his own career. Feel goods don't sell in his business. Controversy does. I highlighted his many egregious lies or falsehoods in a thread where I had an argument with D-Pate about Ross. You can look it up if you'd like. I'm not going through and finding all the links to articles I posted again.

Jason Cole has also been seen high fiving the Dolphins losing. Whether that proves hate or not is up for debate, there is no debate however, that it shows he dislikes them.

There's been substantial evidence to say Cogs is innocent of the bullying of Martin. In fact, there's been no evidence to say he was guilty of it. yet, that hasn't stopped people like Cole and Shefter and Florio from continuing the narrative that Cogs is 100% guilty and a travesty of a human.

There's been no evidence of the golf course stuff either. If there is, let's see it and if he's guilty, he should be thrown in jail.

All I've been asking for is proof of any of this crap. Is that crazy?

Maybe he met with them and committed to that rehab 12 step program, or rededicated himself to it... and thus the whole Richie is reborn storyline/belief that Darlington propagated out to the world.

Only Richie without alcohol is still an *******.

It's a big deal "if the conduct creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment, or interferes with the individual's work performance". If Incognito was joking around it isn't a big deal.

True. But if he was denied the opportunity to apologize - something we've just established as being certainly possible - then I'd happen to consider it even more detestable than the deed. You can't really comdemn Icnognito (presumed the allegations are true) without coming to the conclusion that we've got a morally reprehensive organization, too.

Before he could blink an eye. Shula would have cut him as soon as he heard the words "...with a golf club." No opportunity to explain. No hearing. No appeal. Gone.

Shula was a professional, with absolute power over football operations and no players' union to hinder him. Different times.

The stories of the partying and drunken "out of controlness" of the 70's team is legendary. Marino, himself is a raging alcoholic that has done countless embarrassing and down right despicable things.

Can we just stop pretending any of this is unique to Miami please? For god's sake Cowher, let Big Ben play. Parcells let LT play. Knoll let Lambert play. so on and so forth.

Actually, feel goods sell best. They're just awfully rare.

He's indifferent to them, which I don't necessarily consider a bad habit for a beat writer; quite the contrary. And he didn't high five the Dolphins losing, either. It was a dumb thing to do in public, no question, but it's never been what it has been made out to be by Miami fans.

Crazy? No. But you're not going to get it either way. We're firmly in "he said, she said" territory. Unless there happened to be a camera present at the golf course incident, how are you ever going to prove what happened?

Do you and I have proof ? NO. We can agree on that. Do others have proof? I can guess plenty. Can I form REASONABLE conclusions from what I have read and heard. Yes, so can you. Guess when the truth comes out, we will know. Are you comfortable in what the league comes out with or will you also see that evidence as slanted or bias. What proof would convince you , if any?

There's a difference, Fin D. Jocks will be jocks and they will get drunk and throw furniture around. But none of those 70's events involved the level of disrespect and public abuse and humiliation of a female by a monster of a jock armed with a golf club rubbing it against her genitals. That's sexual battery in Florida; it's a felony. That victim could have been your daughter. There is no comparison.
