    Week 11: Carolina at Miami
    SOLUTIONS TO VICTORY!

I haven’t done one of these for quite some time now, but I felt the itch this week. This team is really on the verge. The time is now to step up! This reminds me much of an NFC team that came to Miami last season.

    DEFENSE:

STOP THE RUN! If Soliai, Starks and Odrick can hold the line this week, we’re good. I’ve seen a lot of double-teams and pulling guards neutralizing the D line lately. Enough of that! We need these guys to play like the playoffs this week. OV, Shelby, Wheeler and Ellerbee have to have solid contributions as well. DeAngelo is a dangerous man. I believe he’s toasted us before. The Carolina stable is full, and confident. I’d like to see pressure packages this week. Send an extra defender on every play!

Rattle Cam. Spy and spy! Spy Cam on every play. Sometimes LB, DE, S, and CB. Shadow and blitz packages. Wake is hopefully a week stronger, and ready to lay the smack down. If the Kraken awakens the Dolphins shall reap the treasures! Disciplined defenders are the call for the day. Don’t give rushers of any kind wide-open lanes.

Lets get physical. I’m not singing 80’s Pop here. I think this is one of those games where we have to go out and play smash mouth maybe a little more than usual. Knock Ginn off the line. DJ needs to get up on Olsen, and knock him a little. As I've been saying, Wheeler and Ellerbee have to step up, and play big. No excuses.

    OFFENSE:

RUN THE BALL! It’s no secret that running the ball, and stopping the run makes any team better. Sam Brenner… Didn’t know this name a couple weeks ago, now I’m thinking he could be a key. If your name rhymes with Jabar Filler you need to step UP!

Get Tanny Moving. The kid is good, and accurate on role-outs, use them a little more! Read-options, meh… Maybe a couple.

Charles Clay. This kid is really bringing it this year, and his consistency has MUCH improved. 6-8 catches are in order… to go along with 3 carries.

Wallace Please… PLEASE for me! This week… Try to recall that you are not a T-Rex! You have fully functional arms that extend beyond your body, and those things at the end of them… they are HANDS! Please use them. Also, pay attention to where you are on the field, as you run.

    PREDICTION
I am always a hopeful optimist, and this game isn’t changing my outlook. We have IMHO, an above average QB, with plenty of pieces around him. A defense on the verge of being fully healthy, and plenty of motivation! I’m hoping for a playoff-type atmosphere, but that will depend on the people in the stadium.
Despite Carolina’s defensive stats, I believe RT has multiple TD’s this game, and the D snatches a couple TO’s, which lead to a big “upset”.

    Dolphins 27 Panthers 20

NEXT WEEK… JETS WEEK, JEST WEEK.

I hope Miami blitzes Cam all game....this old gameplan is IMO in large part why we are on our win streak.

I think Cam is worse when people don't bring pressure. He gambles more IMO. He is making teams pay for the blitz yet people aren't catching on surprisingly

I'm not sure what the plan is, but I think your Dlineman have to stay disciplined, not necessarily attacking upfield, hold the blocks while bull rushing, shed and tackle..keep this dude behind the Los and see if he can get it done with his arm and mind.

I think at the end of the day, we have to score more points than the Panthers if we want to pull out the win.

This is the key for me-

Will Carolina be flat after 2 big statement games in a row? If yes, we have a legitimate shot. If not we're asking a lot from a patchwork offensive line against that defensive front 7.

To be honest, if you want to beat the Panthers with the offense, pass on us. Miller is such a talented running back but, look who Carolina has already shut down with the #3 rush defense. We made RB's like Marshawn Lynch, C.J Spiller. Fred Jackson, Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore non-factors in our games. I wouldn't be surprised if Miami wins Sunday but I'll be stunned if they beat us with a running game considering what happened to Miami in Tampa and what Carolina has done all season to running backs.

On the other side of the ball.. Rattling Cam is exactly how you beat him. Most teams force him to stay in the pocket and pass. But, on the other hand he single handedly beat the 49'ers and the Pats from the pocket. Putting a spy on Cam always seems like the smart move but for whatever reason it always seems to end up biting the other team in the ***.

If Cam Newton Plays like his normal old self you should be able to make him one dimensional to some degree, but.. if he comes out like he has the last few games I have no clue how you plan for something like that.

With Pouncey and Patterson out...I'm having a hard time seeing this happen unless Newton just completely sh-ts the bed, which he (surprisingly) just doesn't do very often. Tannehill does that far more often.

I think this is the key to beating the Panthers. Don't allow Newton those big plays with his feet or arm and force him to sustain drives.

I just don't think he has the accuracy to dink and dunk accurately over 60 minutes. He did engineer that long drive against the Patriots but his short accuracy appeared off.

Need at least +2 turnover diff & big special teams. Need short fields for the offense to have a chance to win imo.

I agree with this. He missed about 5 easy short passes in the NE game. It would be best for you guys if we have to really work for points.

I think this game would be a good one to start Odrick at DE. I think it's more important to keep Cam in the pocket but also help against their running attack. Jordan would play every snap at LB or in nickel rushing the passer. Jordan needs to be the spy all game and delay blitz when openings happen.

On offense, double screens, wr screens, double moves by Hartline to use his tendencies against the DBS, go long early and a lot. Wallace should get 4-5 throws over 30 yards min this game, Motion Wallace into bunches and have him press the safeties with some inside to corner routes. Come out in I set with Egnew and Miller and then spread them both wide pulling their lbs away from the middle of the field if in man, or see what zone they are in.

Special teams has been soo quiet for us this year, to me this is the game they step it up

Keys to the gm are simple:

    -Stop the run
    -Run the ball Well
-Make Cam Newton beat us with his arm, not his legs
    -3 big plays from ST

    Tackle well, we've got this

I agree except for one thing, the 49'ers and Patriots forced Newton to throw from the pocket and he had what I'd consider the two best games of his career.

You need to rattle him somehow.

Nah, make him earn everything, and keep in mind, our front 4 can generate pressure w/o opening scrambling lanes for Newton

He was at 50% completion .

He was sacked 3 times for thirty yards..

    He had 1 interception

    He had no TD passes.

About a 52 qbr....can you tell us how we should not pay attention to the stats in the niner game where he played from the pocket yet you think he had one of his best games ever, from the pocket???

Statistically he didn't have a great game by any means but he has stopped forcing things this year and put us in a position to win the game. We also had a few drops in the Niners game.

It doesn't matter to me really, just thought it was odd that a panther fan thought that was one of his best games ever.

I'll take that game 2maro from the pocket please, sounds like it was ugly from the pocket but he probably made a few plays with his feet?

Not really, the Niners did a good job containing him. Drops and a good Niners defense held him in check.

Ok so you agree then, not "one of his top two games ever"

In that game newton posted the lowest qbr for both qbs on the season..

We held the 49'ers to 151 total yards of offense, it might not seem like Newton had a great day but, that game was defensive as hell.

Cam Newton is an incredibly intelligent player. His reads of the coverage, which routes are available, when to run...so far i've seen good decisions out-number the bad.

Ryan needs works on his reading abilities and scrambling decisions but on the roll-out? Come on, the kid is white-hot!

Will be an interesting match-up, that's for sure, but I think this one will come down to the turnovers...And against Carolina's offense I see our defense struggling to force those.

Still doesn't make him look good considering what he did from the pocket against the niners...I repeat he put up a 52 qbr with no Tds and 1 int and 50% completion, and his lowest ypa of the season at about 5.2 yards..

You just said, a few posts up quit looking at stats. Newton was stellar on third down's he won the game by converting so many third downs for us in the second half. Maybe sports analysts agreed that Newton's stats didn't reflect how great of a game he played.
