CK also thought Brandon Weeden was a great QB, broke down videos, cut them up and posted them.... he was wrong.

Not to insult him because we all are from time to time, but you guys are nut-hugging simply because it supports your whack *** argument.

I have watched football longer than many of you have been alive and I know what I am talking about.

NO QB can have success with the worst O line in the history of football and NO running game.

    None.

Get the heck outta here. I was a friggin QB at one time so I don't need you telling me how the throw was "harder" nor need CK explaining to me how Wallace made the catch tougher when I know for a fact that Tannehill is the one who made the catch tougher and it was the catch that was harder than the throw, and I broke down exactly how the catch was made tougher b/c of the throw. First of all, the throw wasn't complicated for a deep ball b/c he did nothing but heave it as far as he could directly in front of himself with the left hash marks right there to guide him. It met the bare requirements for a long distance pass competition is what it did. Wallace wasn't running down the sideline where the ball had to be thrown diagonally and thus Tannehill needing to take into account numerous variables. 63 yards downfield doesn't mean as much as you guys think it does in this instance. This isn't like John Daly hooking one into the trees b/c he laid into to hard. The pass seemed like it went exactly where Tannehill wanted it. Only problem is he should've wanted it to go further to the left so Wallace wouldn't need to alter the tracking so much.

    Fin-O argument tactics 101:

    - State case with no facts or evidence.
    Check.

    - Insult poster who disagrees with right away.
    Check.

    - Continuing to change the argument to be about the poster, still no facts for his original argument.
    Check.

    - Completely changes argument again. (Notice the change from its Tannehill AND Wallace's fault form earlier post, to now Wallace couldn't have done more right and Tannehill still failed.)
    Check.

    - Finally, he devolves into just random posts insulting everyone.
    Check.

It was complicated because Wallace wasn't doing what he was supposed to and Tannehill was being being killed in the process.

And still, the hardest part was getting his hands on the ball which he did. Once that part happens, its no longer tough to catch it.

so what you're saying is Wallace should be leading the NFL by a lot more than he's already leading the NFL in deep ball receptions since he entered the league if he were able to judge a deep ball in the air?

This isn't the throw that irks me. It'd be nice if we had a WR that could make that catch, but we don't. We did. But we got rid of him...chalk that up to Jeff Ireland greatness.

My issues are with all the throws previous to Wallace He completes one to both their credit...more to Wallace for a nice play. But Tannehill was short and wide on that one.

They complete another one that should've been a TD but because Wallace has to wait for it, we don't get 6 and instead settle for 3.

He misses another throw to Wallace after breaking the pocket that was a clear 6.

Another throw no one is talking about is the almost pick where one of Carolina's players gets drilled by his own teammate. Tannehill breaks contain again (good), then Wallace goes up-field. Rather than leading him deep to a wide open portion of the field, he guns it....WELL BEHIND I might add...and almost throws an INT.

Those are the little things that Ben did and Tannehill isn't doing. Throwing to wide open areas of the field and letting Wallace run under it.

Ya. The 63 yd bomb was nice. It shows great arm strength. It would be nice if our 60m WR would catch a ball in a little traffic.

But...I'm tired of having a QB that can ooh and aah me with a long throw, tight spiral, or laser throw. I'm tired of averaging 18/19 pts/gm every year. Enough. Gimme a guy that can run an offense, get his team in the endzone and win football games. Tannehill hasn't shown much of either yet.

We're spending too much time talking about a Hail Mary. Those kinds if plays fail 99% of the time.

We should be much more concerned about the half a dozen far more routine plays that could have won the game, on both sides of the ball

It was brutal right? The decision to go to Wallace wasn't bad. The throw was.

He literally could have thrown his 2013-vintage bloop passes (Hartline vs Bills or yesterday to Clay) that he's known to brain fart out occasionally and it would've still been fine. An why? Because the field was wide open. Not a single Panther was deep on that side of the field.

Not directing this at you Stitches. This is mpre soap box, but he just hasn't been good enough. He hasn't.

well, he is watching the play develop and does see Wallace running laterally downfield when he's throwing it, plus the safety help over the top was converging from right to left, so.... there's that. Not sure why you'd want to throw the ball toward the coverage side rather than lead Wallace a yard or two to the left away from Mitchell, which also happens to make for an easier reception.

Wallace didn't track that ball well as he should have and made the catch harder than it needed to be. That ball was in the air long enough for him to adjust. As for throwing to the other hash, do you know how much distance that adds to a ball traveling on that trajectory? Remember, Ryan had to scramble out and reset his feet, so I don't think he could have gotten the ball out sooner.

Tannehill also had some clearly miss timed deep throws earlier. At least one to Wallace and one to Clay. Being told to let it fly meant that he was over thinking deep throws to open receivers, not that he needed to just heave every throw as deep as he could. I thought this was clearly addressed when the announcers spoke of Ryan saying that he "needed to pass like the receiver was covered".

Overall, Wallace had a great game. That last pass could have been caught and he'd have had a chance to score, but the db was right there. I felt like he earned his money for the first time. If the timing was a little better on some of his earlier passes, he has 3 tds and around 200 yards. As it was, no other wr gives (in miami I mean) miami a chance at a win on that last pass.

So you can't dispute CK in any form or manner with any verifiable evidence so u resort to call us nut huggers? Lol ask CK ic we have ever disagreed.

This dig in your heels is getting old. I for one am not excusing tannehill from any blame he is partially responsible for some of those misses and is responsible for the bad decisions, what the issue is the utter lack OC big picture logic. Bug picture is defense makes more clutch fails than anyone . Your solution isn't to say d needs to play better in clutch, its to say the offense should just mask that weakness. You can't see how lack of support adversely affect Tannehill, that if a wr is poor at making adjustments to the ball then accuracy tough because the farther the throw , the harder the precision,. The issue it seems if you can't understand the argument, you dismiss it and call names.

In the end we lack talent at Oline rb db and te, not every player at that position, we lack comp coaching we lack a lot as a team not at qb. Replacing Ryan fixes nothing.

Man, I'm on this board every week stating I believe some people are blinded by their Tannehill love, while obviously some aren't realistic with their hate.

But my god, anyone that blames this game on Tannehill has lost their mind. Ryan made a couple bad throws, and a couple bad decisions, one being picked and another that should of been picked. But he had a long touchdown throw to Wallace that was a little short, but good enough.

We had zero running. It's hard to sustain drives without at least a decent running game.

Ryan made an absolute incredible play at the end of the game. If he had another top paid WR. That's a TD.

Incredible play at the perfect time.

    Guys....

It takes a team to win a Championship.

Having a Hall of Fame QB got us to one Super Bowl, and we lost.

Ryan Tannehill is clearly a good enough QB to win with, but other parts need to be in place. All this back and forth over the deep throw is so tunnel vision.

Something is missing on that connection, clearly. We all agree.

Let me ask you something. What kind of team would he have had if you took out Jay Fiedler and placed in Ryan Tannehill during those years?

The degree of difficulty was insane on that last pass.

The degree of difficulty would have been eased with a better pass.

A Better pass was likely not possible with the pressure RT received.

it's nobody's fault, but the O-Line not allowing RT to step into the throw without desperation.

It was neither Wallace nor Tannehill's fault the Dolphins lost that game. Tannehill accounted for all but 16 yards of the Dolphins total yards yesterday, but Wallace accounted for 127 of their 310 yards in the air and the Dolphins would not have moved the ball at all without him making plays.

Could Wallace have made that catch? Yes. Was it a very difficult catch? Yes. He was running full speed, had to completely turn around to adjust and the was a DB right there. And I'm so sick of the "it hit him in the hands" argument. Anyone that says that has never played WR and tried to catch a football thrown behind you running full speed or tried to catch a ball while laid out. I coach WRs in high school and there are plenty of balls that hit them in the hands that I don't hold them completely accountable for not catching.

All that being said, even if he caught it the Dolphins lost that game. He would have been down on the 1 with a player on his back and the clock would have run out. So blaming either guy that torched a very good defense is extremely short-sighted.

You are assuming that Tannehill threw that ball where he "wanted" to throw it too. I think it was desperation under pressure from a guy that was going to break you in half. That it landed where it did was just luck combined with physical skill.

Had he been able to step into it without a guy bearing down on him..I think he throws a more catchable ball.
