He has 3 Dolphins worthy of the Pro Bowl (my man Vernon is one), but he leaves off a Dolphin who deserves to be there. I'll let you figure out who. http://mmqb.si.com/2013/12/11/pro-bowl-2014-picks/
Wake's injury set his numbers back. I can still see him finishing with 10+ sacks. edit: didn't notice Grimes left off, interesting.
Grimes is way better than both these guys. Vontae Davis, Colts — The primary reason Indy has transformed into a predominant man coverage defense. Sean Smith, Chiefs — Has turned out to be the steadiest cover guy in Kansas City’s very good press-man defense.
Fields should be there too but the dude didn't pick special teams players for whatever reason. Kicker get no respect!
"Andrew Luck, Colts — His Colts won the AFC South despite an erratic running game, understaffed receiving corps and athletically challenged offensive line. No quarterback has done more with less." i strongly disagree.....
Grimes cannot be left off the Pro Bowl roster. He has been as good as it gets at CB this year. Verner is the only CB with more picks and he has a TD on his resume along with very few completions to his side. I agree with Stringer that Starks should also be on the list, but DT is such a tough one to project because it isn't statistics based. I'd be very happy to see Vernon and Clay on the list. Both of them are having fantastic years. It wouldn't completely shock me to see Tannehill make the list as a replacement if he keeps up his recent play. QB tends to be a position where they go deep with backups as guys pull out (last year they had 4 replacements).
I don't 'strongly' disagree. He did lose Reggie Wayne, their run game stinks, and so does their offensive line. With that said, it doesn't take much to win the AFC South this year.
I like Peter King, but he is experimenting with some new drugs if he thinks Davis and Smith are PB worthy.
I haven't kept tabs on Davis but Smith has been really good in Kansas City. I don't understand why Miami fans don't understand we picked up a better cornerback for the system in Grimes and Smith went to a system in Kansas City that actually plays to his strengths. It worked out for the best for both Miami and Smith.
Right, should've realized that. Seems whenever I've watched him, he's been getting toasted regularly. Not that he doesn't have some talent, I know, so I suppose in a better system, he could play better to his strengths. Davis is a head scratcher for me, though, and not having Grimes is a puzzle.
First half of the season he did. Prior to his injury, Talib was allowing a catch rate of 39% and had four interceptions and five passes defensed. In his four games since returning he’s allowed a catch rate of 76%, is without an interception, and has two passes defended. Against the Browns, he gave up 141 of Josh Gordon’s 151 receiving yards, with the 80-yard touchdown. He was also flagged three times. Guys is still a dbag. If he can't beat the hell out of a receiver, he is worthless. He should have been kicked out of the Panthers game for trying to injure Steve Smith.
Grimes has had a better season this year than either Smith or Davis had with the Fins in their combined time here. Sheesh.
Yawn, Sean Smith is average. Watched a lot of Chiefs games and he does nothing that really stands out against the opposing teams #2 CB's. Not to mention a helluva duo rushing the passer. Grimes is the better player.
