I made a pact with my brother that once the game starts today we are BOTH not allowed to be negative about anything DURING the game. Only positive talk. As with most of us...during the games I go from being ecstatic to angry to frustrated. The yelling can be quite loud but its all in the pursuit of following this team in hopes of a victory.
So now I must vent all my normal rational and irrational musings I complain about in EVERY game
    - Why the hell does Sherman have us in the shotgun on 3rd and 3? 3rd and 2?
    - Why cant we run a QB sneak on 3rd and inches?
    - Did you just see that block by _____ that just got Tannehill killed?
    - Can we run a route to the 1st down marker?
    - Did you just see Nolan Carroll run away from making that tackle?
    - Nolan Carrolls body language just makes my blood boil
    - Holy Crap Ellerbe! you want to make a tackle NEAR the line of scrimmage?
    - Holy Crap Wheeler! you want to be NEAR the guy you are supposed to be covering?
    - Please Ryan...just overthrow Wallace friggin once on a long pass!
    - Please Wallace...fight for a stinking ball in the air just once!
    - You think Miller or Thomas can break a tackle or just go down at the first hint of contact?
    - Ellerbe! (used to shout Crowders name like that after every missed tackle)
    - Wheeler!(see above)
    - Play clock is down to 1! get rid of the ball...get rid of the ball!
    - What the heck is Thigpen doing on returns?

Now I do realize that some of these are irrational and not the sharpest insights...yet I find myself saying them almost every game. I will be as positive as I can for as long as I can today....told my son to say a prayer for both the Dolphins and my sanity today at church. Man we need this one today

I`ve said similar things like that many times prior to the game. But, during the opening kickoff if a special teams player misses a tackle, misses a block or has an illegal block in the back called against him during a decent run back.....all pre-game promises are history. So, I no longer bother .

Wheeler is always near the guy he is covering. With the Colts he was usually in zone with his eyes to the QB where he excelled. Now we are asking him to be a corner in a LB body, and he doesnt have the ball skills.

Anyway good idea to stay positive.

Mrs. Zoom has tried to get me to use the same approach. She says I negatively affect their mojo. Maybe today....

I'm going to have two Steeler fans watching with me, and of course they have to root against the Fins, so I might be doing a lot of yelling!.

I unfortunately have to work during the game, but I already apologized for future cussing and hissy fits. And you can't stop me.

I used to get very vocal and animated during the game. Perhaps its age, but I have learned to just watch and not get too high or too low during the game. I pop into the game day thread from time to time, but could not stay there all game. I am just going to enjoy keeping up with the game, ( I don't get it here which might be the best thing) and hope I get to do it again next weekend. Well thats the plan anyway.

My wife already left the house deciding to go shopping today, telling me that every time the Dolphins are playing she's under a lot of stress caused by my yelling to the players, coaches or refs....even my boxer hates to stay in the same room with me during the game. I told her that today I feel good about the outcome of the game and is no need for her to go out, but she doesn't believe me, therefore I be yelling like a mad man all game long LOL
    Let's go PHINS!!!!!

My dog goes nuts when I put the pre game show on, he runs to the door because he know's my buddies will be coming over and whines and barks until they get here. Now I can't put on the pre game until 12:55 because he drives me so nuts!

My wife usually goes to the other side of the house with my daughters, today she decided on a 1PM showing of the Hobbit with my daughters!

I'm gonna yell my favorites just to get it out of the way..

Why the hell do we not roll the pocket ever, why the hell isn't Ryan running some read option, why the hell is there one bootleg every quarter of the season when we have the most dangerous Qb in the league on the move, to either side.!!why the hell are we not using the entire skillset of our Qb in the gameplan, and lastly, why the hell do we operate completely from a stationary pocket when we have the worst pass protection in the league.

Oh that's right my bad, because in four years he'll be a better pocket Qb because of it.

Not really a fan of rolling the pocket. All it does is effectively cut the field in half for a QB and if the short options are well covered it sometimes ends up putting your QB in more danger for a big hit if he doesn't throw it away early.

Agree on the read option though.

Gotta admit, being a dolphan these days is not for the faint-hearted. Whiskey and something to bite down on, isn't a bad idea, but the only thing worse than witnessing that defeat go down, was witnessing the Official Game Thread.

If you held it together then big props. I was losing it. Didn't think a game could be more frustrating than last week against the Jills but this team consistently continues to amaze me.

So for one day I tried not to be negative...I bit my tongue when I saw the same old same old...Ellerbe...Wheeler..Carroll...Sherman...big drops...not one ..not one player or coach..not a one do anything to help win this game. My blood pressure is at an all time high. So I kept my word and all it did was rip my heart out..rooting for a bunch of guys who will forget about what just happened 5 seconds from now.

I'm not sure it's possible to be a fan (emotionally invested in the performance of a team) and be zen-like and detached about the outcome.

    Something I struggle with.
