there is no diligence needed in this case, Ireland should be fired, point blank period. the sooner the better. as for Philbin, if Ross is too scared to make the call on him, let the new GM do it.
this has nothing to do with diligence. he doesn't want to fire jeffy. it's as if he believes this latest disappointment will blow over w/the fans and we'll forgive & forget come march.
If Smith really does hire Sparano as anything other than head groundskeeper, I will lose every ounce of respect I've ever had for the man.
If he was sure he was going to keep them he would've announced something by know, he reeks of confusion and indecision.
I really can't believe how the rainbow and lollipoppers continue to be happy and make excuses for this perpetual loser of a football team we cheer for. It really is mind-boggling. Do people not not get tired of the endless 7-9, 8-8, 9-7, always missing the playoffs circus this once proud franchise has become?
Right. My bad. Lets have a parade and make today Jeff Ireland Day. The rainbow and lollipoppers just jizzed in the collective pants.
Because some of us think that we have a decent QB, a good receiving corps, and what we need to put it together is some offensive linemen, for our linebackers to get acclimated, for Dion Jordan to start, and a new offensive coordinator and offensive line and linebacker coaches You build on what you have.
He already extended Ireland for next season. Philbin is also under contract for 2014 and Ross held a presser to announce he was solidly behind the HC. You're the one who reeks of confusion. I guess you want Ross to give weekly progress reports like they do for struggling middle school students.
Yeah. Just like in 2002 or so when we knew all we needed was a couple good WRs and an offensive coordinator and everything would be fine. That didn't turn out.
The NFL business model is centered on parity. They're basically trying to create as many 7-9 wins as possible. And lets not not pretend like firing the GM or coach is a solution. But hey, fans don't care about what comes next they just want someone fired so they canoe on to the next scapegoat. If Ireland is fired then next year it'll be Philbins turn just like it was Ireland, Sparano, Henne, Henning etc before him. Finally we have an owner who isn't chasing PR victories or bowing to fan sentiment, that's a good thing IMO.
We've gone that route before. Ireland is NOT good at plugging holes. He always creates more holes than he patches.
It will if we have medicore people running the show. How long does a GM get to plug holes. We have arguable as many now as when he took over.
Yes, but we have tools making personnel decisions. No, you don't understand the point. You are content with the tools and dumb personnel decision since you are happy with a lot of the personnel. You are below my standard. You are content with mediocrity in personnel.
Ross is an idiot. Expect and even emptier stadium next year. If wish I wasn't so suspicious but it looks like Ross is doing this on purpose. Destroying the fan base and setting up a move out of South Florida, because there is no reason under God's green Earth Ireland should still be employed by this franchise.
Michael Lombardi is making the moves there now and he indicated months ago when he came on board that they would move in another direction unless Chud had a spectacular year.
I thought the same thing. Wanny, Bates, Saban all left on their own. Sparano, Cameron and Wilson are the only HC's the Dolphins fired.
acknowledging that Wheeden really never was an answer let alone THE answer... can't believe the hype he got on how much he was pumped... honestly ... Lombardi would have come here ...
Fan sentiment is the devil I know better than any and and fans don't know jack shti. I'm one of the few people who ISNT sitting here pretending to know who who needs to be fired or what changes need to be made. I guess I'm not as acute as the rest of the fan base.
Fans are typically way off when it comes to knowing what needs to be done for a team...too much emotion and self-gratification involved. Look at all the fans that wanted the Carolina coach canned after they started crappy their first 4 games...now they have a 1st round bye...
Yeah...and YOU are a fan, and YOUR idea is to keep Ireland around. You're right, that's a horrible fan idea.
