I think we are both saying the same thing lol.

They're better than any other resource but when they say so and so is rated such and such bc he received X number of pluses vs Y number of minuses I take it with a grain of salt.

it's fitting that our last game came down to the Jets. Philbin and Rex are polar opposites of each other in just about every way possible. offensive minded vs. defensive. Aggressive vs. passive. Game management vs. emotional play. both have their strengths, both have their weaknesses.

See, it sucks playing the Jets late in the season where rex can make it seem like its win or go home for him. He's always going to win that game. Hands down, if i needed a coach to win me 1 game, Rex might be the best there is out there. His playoff runs were no joke. Why? Because its win or go home. Back against the wall, rex is the best motivational coach in the game.

The jets/rex problem is weeks 1-14. Even when they went to the AFC championship games, the jets didn't win the division either time. Rex NEEDS the desperation to be a great coach. Without it hes mediocre.

Philbin doesn't fall into that but he also doesn't rise to the occasion either. we had two seperate 3 game win streaks this season, AND a 4 game losing streak. Philbin was pretty much the same guy throughout all of it.

Yeah kicker should be pretty simple I dunno how they could mess that one up. I just don't trust that they know each players responsibility on each play, only the players and coaches know that. Who does the ratings anyway? It could be a long time player/coach who knows the game well or a college nerd who's better with spread sheets than spread offenses.

they don't know the responsibilities, but the majority of the time you can tell..and it doesn't really take a keen eye to detect a win or loss on a play for an Olineman.

I look at what we need, as you said yourself, that's four new starters..I think you have to think about a two and two approach, two in free agency, two in the draft, to get two new starters in the draft your gonna need hi picks to do so, if you give up picks to move up for one your decreasing your odds to fulfill your initial plan..

Of course you have to weigh the difference between how good your #1 lineman is to your #2, if there isn't that much then you play the game...you just don't wanna give up too much if the difference isn't substantial.

if players need "motivating" when a playoff berth is on the line, there is something wrong with the players not the coaches. these guys are paid professionals not high schoolers.

I'm sorry, but that pretty short-sighted, DJ. What are you going to use for backups? Injuries happen, and I wouldn't want the same fire drill as we had this season, with no start-ready backups.

Besides, we need TWO Tackles; and one of them needs to be a great player, not another 2nd-rounder. This past draft, the top three Tackles went in the first four picks. Eight O-Linemen went in the first twenty picks. You're happy with your seventh choice at 19? A since it's now the way of the world, O-Linemen being valued just under Quarterback, do you want to riskan even greater run in 2014, and be left with your tenth choice there?

It is NOT okay with me. I want the best Tackle in this draft, a guy who'll anchor the line for at least the next decade and make ten pro bowls in doing so. I want the best plug-and-play LT so that we don't even have to look at the position except to have a competent backup.

Now, with both Bridgewater and Manziel declaring, along with Clowney, maybe we don't have to trade up to top-three; maybe top-five does it. But the difference between rampant success and continued mediocrity in business is being willing to settle for the "maybe" instead of going for the best shot at a sure thing. It's being timid in a world that belongs to the bold.

    I'm not timid.

I think that our best bet at pick #19 is LT from Cedric Ogbuehi from Texas A&M, if he declares. He's playing RT now, but that's because he's playing on the same team as Jake Matthews. He has great feet- I've been looking through the OT class for something that's standout besides the overall games of Matthews and Greg Robinson, and so far it's Ogbuehi's feet. As a backup pick maybe Cameron Erving- I'm not crazy about him, but we're pretty much desperate and he can play LT.

Then we better be damn sure to get another OT in rounds 2-4, I'm thinking Antonio Richardson or Morgan Moses. I like Moses, I like Richardson, but both come with questions. Could either play LT? I don't know. To me, Moses is a compelling talent, but he's not exactly nimble at 66, 330 lbs. He can move pretty well, but LT in the NFL? I'm not sure, but I'd take him for RT. Richardson, as with Dallas Thomas and Ja'wuan James, there's something about them that I'm not so sure about, maybe they're not aggressive enough. Taylor Lewan- I wonder if he's a good enough pass blocker for LT, good enough run blocker for RT. The Dolphins better do their homework on this OT class, and I'd rather not have Jeff Ireland, with his OL drafting record, taking the test.

Matthews and Robinson will be long gone, I'd feel pretty comfortable with Ogbuehi at #19, and the rest of them all have questions. Our OL is so bereft of talent and has so many questions as per age, injuries and free agency, I really wouldn't mind if we drafted 3-4 OT in this draft. Heir and a spare, we're in dire need and this draft has excellent OT depth do get some talent in the door.

Another option that I like is the idea of getting Anthony Collins in FA- at least we know that he can pass block, and that would certainly take some of the pressure off as per drafting OTs in the draft, especially LTs. After Matthews, Robinson and Ogbuehi the only LT with particularly good feet that i;ve seen film on is a guy mentioned on this site, Billy, Turner. Maybe Wesley Johnson as well, I'd be for getting both of them in rds 5-7. Our offensive line, as it stands now and considering off season complications, is crap.

It is very possible to have a higher ceiling on someone who isn't projected to go earlier, if the discrepancy of talent is large then I understand what your saying, if it is not, then you don't..

You might get your left tackle in free agency and need your right tackle in the draft..

Free agency comes before the draft so it will play out.
