http://www.thefinsiders.com/blog/2014/reports-dolphins-make-roster-moves I don't know why Samuda got released in the first place. He had a rough pre-season, but he was a second-year UDFA whom was competitive for a starting job, he should have at least been considered depth or a developmental product. It's the same kind of deal they've done in the past with guys like Donald Thomas, Joe Berger, etc.
i´m not sure why we sign all the guys that were already here during camp, why not get some new blood in here, players we don´t have on tape at practice
I also look forward to him continuing his development under someone who wasn't hired because he was Mike Sherman's first cousin.
@OmarKelly There appears to have been some computer glitch with NFL's website. Former O-lineman Josh Samuda has signed with the Vikings, not Dolphins.
CFL OL GENERALLY do not translate to the NFL, heck even Tony Washington who was highly thought of but went through a sex scandal is not even starting in the CFL
Because they think they are close. The reason for the status quo is the blame has been put on the Jonathan Martin/ Ritchie Incognito thing blowing up and destroying the line. Mike Sherman was fired for not making enough adjustments to get us to the playoffs. A sacraficial Lamb if you will. What sucks is it gives Philbin plausible deny-ability. Next season will be a gimme, and no matter what happens he can claim I never had "my People" because we had to appease the fans. No matter what, firing Mike Sherman is a step back wards. Mike Sherman's relationship and history with Ryan Tannehill is invaluable and will be felt next year Mike Sherman's history with offensive line coach Turner is also going to play a factor Either way the Dolphins went backwards as a result of Sherman being fired. I would have brought in an assistant to help him out.
Re: Dolphins re-sign Josh Samuda, 8 future contracts Clearly everyone else is wrong. Still, good thing we have journalists competent enough to browse nfl.com for reports... Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Retired in 2009. To bad about that guys career. Never could stay healthy. Shoulder and knee injuries but was decent when he was healthy. I think he only played 9 or 10 games the last year for us. He had a pretty good contract, then we cut him and went with Joe Berger who we signed as a free agent. Berger played the next 2 years. We waived him in 2011. Berger now plays for Minnesota and I believe may be a free agent. Maybe we could sign Berger to a third contract
They all do it. Just regurgitate someone else's idea's Armando is guilty of it and once did an article about an idea I emailed him. Lost all respect for him since his answer was a one word response and then 2 hours later he did a article about my idea. I was trying to find the email but I think I sent it to him thru the herald web site when they used to have a forum
Re: Dolphins re-sign Josh Samuda, 8 future contracts What was the article? Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
That is the thing 2 socks, eventually the training wheels have to come off, Sherman was huge for THil's first 2 yrs, however the offense was never really as potent as it should have been
Because they should already be familiar with the schemes and terms used during practice? Instead of bringing in a new body that will need time to acclimate, you already have some seasoned ones that can be thrown right into the mix? This is all speculation on my part. Also, these guys were already here during camp for a reason. I guess they haven't found anyone they determined to be better at this point.
updated OP with link to different story as Sun Sent link not working. changed title. Damn Omar for making me work.. at work...
I went to the NFL.com site and it was their glitch. However, Omar obviously didn't do a lot of homework either. He did what any of us could have done.
Wow Padre 100,000 posts.....crap that's a lot - congrats We as fans are to impatient We will never know what could have been because Sherman is gone The line blew up in everyone's face Making that Sherman's baby is bull squeeze Not adjusting is both Sherman and Philbins fault 1 game and we made the playoffs 1 game and most would have been content I understand the shot across the bow theory. I just don't agree with interrupting 2 years worth of growth, but that is not my call it's Ross' I do know 1 thing for sure that every great team needs and that is a franchise QB and coaches that can adjust their schemes to their personal. Coaches that are able to mask their weakness' as a team. I don't see that here. Mike Sherman know's this personal, the new OC will not Forcing Philbin to fire Mike Sherman is putting this team behind the eight ball and makes this coaching staff weaker The New OC whomever it may be will need time to figure out who's who and what's what I'm afraid this is time we do not have in Ross' eyes To me Joe Philbin's fate is sealed unless he is able to pull a miracle out of his a$$ We need someone with experience in this position and it's not Ben McAdoo Sherman should have been given a assistant not fired. Only because of the line imploding. Status quo. They don't get it done and they all go next year.....JMO
Honestly I don't remember all the details exactly but it was during the time Jimmy Johnson was an annalist on TV. He made some comments and had this smug smile and grin. I had seen more then 1 broadcast by Jimmy and he knew stuff he shouldn't. I knew he was going to be our next coach. I sent Armondo an email highlighting my thoughts and some other reasons why I was suspected it. He did a article and Johnson was announced as our next head coach about a week later. I don't remember exactly what it was because it was so long ago. But it was obvious if you knew certain things and were able to put the shows together. Also Jimmy knew things about the Dolphins from the inside that wasn't normal. Inside info, but it was obvious from that stupid *** grin and swagger he had going on that he was biting his tongue. I suggested to Armando my thoughts. Not really a big deal
I'm just going to go out on a limb here and just blame you for 'Mando having a job all these years. Damn it, 2socks!
I cant believe we have a Sherman apologist amongst us the guy suxs and deserves to be fired . if only Ross would fire Ireland we might have a good draft. I just hope our Oline coach gets the axe.
keeping Sherman is only something that a jets , bills and a pats fan would love. Omar Kelly needs to be put on a bus and sent to south America.
It's not about apologizing for Sherman. It's about what Sherman brings to the table And what he brings out weighs what he does not
Wow. Didn't catch the news. Too Bad Now they need to fire Philbin and his staff. Anything less is a bandaid
Really? I can guess guess our play call run vs pass on second down based on formation and distance with about 80% accuracy....you think a defense can? With a perfect team I think his scheme is great. We will never have a perfect team. You need to find a way to offset your weaknesses and emphasize your strngths. Sherman does not.
Do you remember how good Grove was in 2008? Man, him and Smiley were fun to watch. Shame he couldn't stay healthy.
given the fact that our OC is gone and there are rumors about our OL coach on the hot seat as well....the scheme at least for the offensive players will change anyways to an extent, could be total different if somehow a guy with no WCO ties gets the gig
