You are verging on delusional when it comes to the exit of Jeff Ireland.

He's been delusional since before Ireland's exit. A blind person can see that Jeff Ireland was the weak link in this organization....a poor talent evaluater with even worse people skills. Since he had a year on his contract, Ross offered to keep him through that year but without any real power just to keep his hands away from the personnel aspect of the team and also keep him and Joe separated. The plan all along was to bring in a new GM that had autonomy over the roster.

You seriously have got to be on some heavy pain meds.

Adjustment? why yes indeed, Ireland is gone

resigned? of course he did his pride was given no other choice.

You seem to be numb to the facts.

Now, the new GM may or may not want the current staff but until then, Ross wants to retain them. Does that blow your mind?

What are you going to say when this oline gets improved in the offseason (can't get worse) and the new GM gets some better talent on this team (despite your belief he will not have time) and this team plays well. And we find out that with talent we have a heck of a football coach? I bet the Pats are glad the Browns think like you.

I did not say he would not have time to get talent. What I said was he will not have time to evaluate the talent on this team and get the talent He or She would get under normal circumstances. The new GM will rely heavily on what Philbin, Gaine and Aponte tell him. The results of this draft will be a result of the information they provide. Unless they promote from within which is what I think is going to happen. Gaine will be promoted. Keeps it all in the family. Philbin hires Mcadoo as OC.

It all right there. All we got to do is look.

Well if the new GM was in charge of evaluating NFL talent he should have a decent understanding of our roster. If he was in charge of the draft he should have a feel for college players, notes, etc.

No reason to believe there isn't time.

Dude I hope there is. How is anyone going to come in not knowing these players and evaluate our strengths and weakness' at each position? Scout all the college teams and develop a plan by first week in May. Who ever comes in will have to rely on the people in place to give him that information. Use that information to formulate a plan. Then all the fans will expect them to turn the entire 53 man roster. All the while resigning Grimes and getting rid of the 2 LB's we have that are A 12.5 million cap hit no matter what.

The challenges are Huge which is why the GM must have experience.

Got a feeling it gonna be more of the same old in Gaine or a Rookie with little to no GM experience.

Not optimistic based on what I have seen and heard in the Hiring process

This hiring will be one of the biggest since Shula left in terms of future success

What in the hiring process has been negative? We've only interviewed the best names, noone has declined that I know of, and noone has withdrawn their name.

Not the Hiring process...I was referring to my posts being negative

    We have interviewed:

    GM

Gaine ; we all know who he is. Ireland Protege

Omar Khan; Director of football admin (Pittsburgh) 2011 - present

Jason licht; Vice President of Player Personal (Arizona)2013 - present, but has a lot of NFL exp

Ray Farmer; Assistant GM (Cleveland)2013 - present, but has a lot of NFL Exp

All these guys are gainfully employed. No one has been offered the position that we know of. Question is with everything swirling around this team do any of these guys leave what they got. My bet is no. Of course I am assuming the Dolphins GM job is considered a step up from what each individual candidate has. Not sure we could make that argument.
