http://extramustard.si.com/2014/01/14/new-rbi-baseball-mlbam/?eref=sihp Super excited, one of my favorites.
I use to play Super RBI Baseball and Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball on the SNES all the time as a kid. I was never any good at Super RBI Baseball though.
Sign me up. I actually hope it's almost exactly like the original just with updated rosters (obviously). I don't want it to be like The Show. I want it to be simple and fun like it was on the NES.
We live in an age/era where you can watch and play movies, TV shows and games in 3D, you can poop while on an iPad updating your fantasy teams, Facetime with someone half way across the world etc. Sometimes a ground ball double up the middle in 8 bits is a nice change of pace.
Ok ok you got me....I concur.. Also don't poop while being on an iPad, it is unsanitary and I have a different image of you Fink....
For whatever it's worth my favorite baseball game on the NES is Little League Baseball, it's almost the same as Baseball Stars. I hope next year World Series Baseball that was on the Sega Genesis will be brought back.
Just want to ask if your toothbrush is in the same room as your toilet? If the answer is yes then it shouldn't matter (to you) if you use your iPad while sitting there.
Tecmo Bowl 2014 BEAT THAT. For serious: I loved RBI Baseball on the NES. Going to give this a whirl. Hopefully it has the same casual, non-sim feel as the original. It's fun because it's baseball, not because it's MLB.
I was always a fan of the Triple Play series but may just be that coincided with when I was most into the sport.
Dude, you must have been REALLY young to play RBI on the NES as a kid if you're 29. I loved that game when I was 11 or 12, so you would have been 4 or 5?
I beat Dragon Warrior on the NES when I was 5, how I managed that still amazes me a little. It's a shame to peak at such a young age.
My first RPG in the late 80s. I played that game SO freaking much. A gateway to a lifetime of Final Fantasy from that point onward.
Why wouldn't you just play more Dragon Quest, then? At this point we've received every game in the series except X.
Back then, I had no idea they continued the series beyond Dragon Warrior 2. I knew that Square made both games, and loved FF so much more than DW, that it was what I continued with. I didn't know Dragon Quest was a continuation of the DW series until maybe 12-13 years ago. Just forgot all about it.
haha Did you get Dragon Warrior in the mail for free? That's how I got mine and as a 5 year old just getting a free game was awesome, but then you get to be a knight and fight dragons and stuff?! I did play some more RPGs after that but I went from NES to Sega which didn't seem to have as many RPGs, or I didn't play them as much. I do remember Shining Force 2 and maybe some others but I started my Final Fantasy addiction with 7. My best friend, who as young kids we would discuss our level on Dragon Warrior, got to disc 2 on 7 and was like, dude... you gotta play this and gave me disc 1. I did and was blown away. Then I bought a pretty good amount of RPGs for my PS1, not as much but still a lot for PS2, and with my PS3 I haven't bought too many. I actually just finished FF 4 and FF 4: The After Years, working on Tactics right now. I also didn't know about the Dragon Quest thing until a lot later, still haven't picked one up.
A friend of mine got the game as soon as it came out. I would go to his house and watch him play for hours at a time. My parents didn't have much money, and I only got games for Christmas or my birthday, so I couldn't get my own copy. Eventually, he let me borrow his and I played the Hell out of it. Later, yes, I got the Nintendo Power subscription that came with the free copy. It also had a TON of other free stuff. I remember getting HUGE game guides for the Mario games, as well as books about the history of Nintendo and what the future may hold. And it was all cheap, I know I used some of my birthday money one year for it.
Yeah, I forgot what all it came with but remember a map and some other stuff, I was so excited. lol Someone on facebook linked something one time with music from Dragon Warrior and instantly my brain was like, "I know this!"
I love RBI Baseball as a kid. My cousin & I use to stay up all night playing the game. -Sent from my TMO Samsung Galaxy Note 3 using Tapatalk
