We need to all thank Larry Johnson for leaving Penn State. That's what pushed Holley to come to Florida. After Holley's commitment Oboy's fav recruit posted this @dc_wilson954: Name another school that will have a better defense than the Gators will for the next 4-5 years... I'll wait.
Lol I am not going to lie I don't follow any recruit but I saw that in a article. I knew you would like that Oboy.
Dontae Angus is no longer considered a part of the Gators recruiting class because of his academics. He was a 3* OT
Seems like Muschamp is definitely on a roll. Question is, will he flip any other top recruits to end strong!? I know Zach from the Gainesville Sun thinks there will be one more big surprise flip...
I don't think there will be another big flip. I think Prince will come to Florida. Hopefully we can land Isaiah Mackenzie. We only have 4 more scholarships to give out. We may sign another QB too
http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20140121/ARTICLES/140129914?tc=cr#gsc.tab=0 Can't believe the NCAA still has not cleared Walker. Seriously? WTF is taking so long?
From Jay Bilas @JayBilas: Dear NCAA: Chris Walker and Florida have waited long enough. The DMV now believes you are slow and inefficient.
Signing day tomorrow. Any bets on the biggest surprise of the day will be? http://www.gatorzone.com/story.php?id=27198 Good place to check for updates.
The biggest surprise would be Lorenzo Carter picking the Gators over Dawgs. I don't think that will happen tho. Looks like 5* Damien Prince will be going to Maryland.
I was just reading that too. Shame, I wanted him. I was also meaning, what would be the biggest surprise total. Not just for us. I am curious. There is always one big shocker.
I honestly don't follow recruiting unless its Florida or state of Florida recruits mostly. Biggest reason that these big surprises happen is because no one has any idea they are coming. So that makes them hard to guess. Florida should get 3-5 commits tomorrow
Not bad considering the losing season and Champs lame duck status. Most position needs were filled.Even the QB position with the suprise signing of Treon Harris who should be effective running the spread offense . An area of concern for me is the LB position where they are relying on two high profile players who have been injured since they were recruited and have shown no signs of recovery yet. They will miss the spring game.None were recruited this year.
I was thinking about the LB position too. Makes you wonder if they are thinking of switching positions for anyone... Or if they just have that much faith they will be healthy... All in all, it is a GREAT class considering we filled the holes AND this was coming off of a 4 win season. Don't kid yourself and think the kids did not notice that. The fact that the staff filled holes and was a top 10 recruiting class after only winning 4 games last year... VERY good. Now we just have to hope the team stays healthy this year and the new offense is a success.
The Staff only went after a couple of LB's this year because next year is loaded with good LB's. Gators top target is Jeff Holland. I wasn't shocked by Treon Harris because he wanted to play in a spread offense. Florida was going after him pretty hard. Muschamp has always been a great recruiter so I am not shocked by the class. This is a huge year for the Gators tho and like everyone knows its make or break for Muschamp.
Gators PG Scottie Wilbekin in road games at Tennessee and Kentucky this week: 71 minutes, 44 points, eight assists and ZERO turnovers.
#1 in the nation in BB! Let's hope the players don't let it go to their heads (don't think it will with a Senior laden squad)!
High expectations as usual at the beginning of a new season. We can only hope things the Gators can challenge this year.
A nail biting game.Kentucky is a much improved team . For much of the game the Gator offense looked like last years version and the defensive backfield looked like a sieve. At the risk of overeacting I do think they need to bring Treon Harris along at QB....soon.Driskell is looking like he hasnt improved much . At the end Jones wore down the Wildcat defense and that was the ever so slight difference in the game.It could have gone either way.
About to be 21-21 you guys are really hanging with Alabama on the road. Nice job so far. Cooper is killing you guys though.
Alabama really took it to Florida. Congrats to them. I'm seriously over Muschamp. He needs to go and sooner the better. I've given him the benefit of the doubt but not anymore. This team doesn't get better and all i hear is more excuses from him.
Alabama controlled the second half with its running game. Their line suddenly started dominating. Its okay though...I get to watch my Canes probably lay down for Nebraska tonight. So yeah.
The Oline started dominating because FL got tired. It was sad to see that defense out there. So many missed tackles and blown coverages. Just sad to watch and i don't even wanna start on the offense.
FWIW I thought what you guys brought to the game was enough to beat most teams. Just can't turn it over and the offense needs to find something in the passing game.
I think that's how Zook went out as the Gators coach, he stepped down but finished coaching the remainder of the season. I remember they beat FSU and the players carried him off the field.
Muschamp sunk his own ship years ago when he decided Driskel would start over Brissett, despite overwhelming evidence at the time that Brissett was far better. That said, I wish him well.
He seems to be a nice guy but his firing was long overdue .He was clueless as to offensive and QB talent .There is nothing worse than being bad and boring and this team has been bad and boring ever since he took over the team. Also the team has been undisciplined and poorly coached with a constant stream of off campus incidents and penalties and turnovers as a result. Its going to take a couple of years to get the program back up to speed.Recruiting will suffer for awhile. Hopefully the new HC will be someone who understands offense and can recruit.
I hate to say good to someone losing their job, but this was long overdue. Guy kept talking all off season how he was bringing in Roper to install a upbeat fast paced offense. What happens? He sticks his nose in and boom back to the ground and pound. Sorry that does not always work. Yeah it is great when it does (UGA), but more often than not you will have to pass more than 11 times. That being said, I am definitely excited to see a new face in there. Some hope that he can return us to the prominence we need. I am torn at who I want, but I know a few I do not. I saw some touting Lane Kiffin. That would make me give up college football (for a few years until he is fired). I am probably in the minority, but I don't want Mullen, or Stoops. They just would not have the motivation to succeed here, IMO. I am intrigued to see who Foley ends up bringing in. That being said, if Foley botches this too... he may be hitched to this hire...
