It's a pretty good bet that General Manager is at or near the pinnacle for FO/player personnel people for an NFL team. If candidates have a shot at the GM brass ring and go elsewhere, choose to retain their assistant GM position in Cleveland or just flat out bail- either you're missing something in your thought process or you're just not too bright to begin with.

I already knew you were gonna say that, and I ceased to interrupt it because it is in fact true. I'm an uncrippled Professor X.

yeah, not sure what's to not understand here. It'd be like a small handful of straight, single guys rejecting a no-strings-attached night of steamy lovin' from Kate Upton. At some point you have to start questioning why they're rejecting her, and it sure as hell isn't the media's fault. Criticizing the media for speculating the reason Upton is being rejected is b/c she's in the middle of syphilis outbreak doesn't change the fact she's being rejected.

Like you knew Gamble had personal issues w his dad dying before it was public too?

It's funny you guys act like it's impossible for someone to turn down a higher job title without knowing any other details.

Kate Upton is probably the most overrated woman alive right now. Great **** and absolutely nothing else.

I think before Farmer...some of that did plausibley seem like media.

To that extent..there was rumored to be a snitch inside..Florio talked somr about it. I wonder if you all believe the media has been a help or a hinderance for the Phins during this search?

So of all 32 teams you think Gamble is the only promising GM candidate? What don't you understand about how becoming NFL GM is the culmination of a life long career pursuit for many if not most of these guys? There shouldn't be any excuses for these guys to not take a GM vacancy other than something existing within the organization's structure that doesn't appeal to them. It shocks me that you think having most of our staff still in place, including the owner, is unrelated to candidates rejecting us, that it's somehow "other" reasons unrelated to Miami that's turning them away or having them uninterested to begin with. Let me guess, Farmer was interested enough in becoming a GM that he interviewed for the Miami job, but he backed away b/c of what, the Starbucks in Cleveland tastes better? How naive can you get? And I know the details. The details are that candidates are turning down the job. Those are all the details you need.

It's probably not a help, but then again those NFL guys talk amongst themselves enough that it'd make its way around regardless.

that's just one person.... and I already mentioned it's a career aspiration for many or most of these guys, not all of them.

Its hard to say...sometimes I get so irritated at obvious hack journalism. And..its kind of obvious who that is. Dave Hyde and Jeff Darlington have managed to have very credible..and respected careers in South Florida without resorting to what we see at times with Omar and Armando...and Lacanfor****

Rigghhht.... they've spent their entire careers with aspirations of ascending upward and worked their butts off to see it through only to stop right before "GM". ..... but feel free to keep attempting to make it seem as desirable as a job in sanitation.

Not everyone's main priority is ascending the job title totem pole.

If your argument now is that these guy don't really want the job and lack ambition, you're doing a great job of climbing the moron tree while simultaneoulsy having your head buried in the sand, nice trick. The job turned out to be a scud- sure, that is opinion, but given how many candidates distanced themselves form the job it's a STRONG opinion. Face it, the best and the brightest didn't want the job. The question is why, although I doubt that you're prepared to deal with the truth of the situation. You and others will probably continue to deny that problems exist, blissful in your combined ignorance

lol Must be that clown still trying to bait me after he knows I put him on ignore. See, I can read minds too.

Ya I must be crazy to just let the hiring process play out in a few days instead of already pissing and moaning like some people.

No baiting, it's a slow Saturday and although I have you on ignore I'm clicking "view message." You can always choose to ignore a thread that I started, that would be just fine.

Who turned us down because of the "situation" in the front office?

    - Gamble has turned everyone down.
    - Xanders we don't know, but speculation is that he got his panties in a bunch because a man in his 70s said Sanders instead of Xanders, which when said aloud sound virtually identical so I'm not buying that.
    - Khan wasn't a finalist.
    - Farmer turned us down, but we don't why, the speculation is that he can't work with women.
    - Licht turned down a chance to be just a finalist for a guaranteed gig.
    - Dawson is still in the running
    - Gaine is still in the running.
    - Cesario is still in the running.

There's a whole lot of made up stuff going around.
