You're getting caught up in the specifics (so is everyone else for that matter).

The public choices he's making aren't smart from a professional level. When you were embroiled in 2 huge scandals (Bullygate & Free Hernandez), there's public record of your drug use, you were questioned in a gun running investigation and the line you're the leader of gave up 58 sacks....then its a sign of a lack of intelligence and a huge ego to not play humble to the media and avoid further controversy.

Stupid people, with big egos tend to screw up pretty bad at some point (see: Incognito). Which way is Pouncey's arrow pointing: stupid and arrogant or smart and humble?

We need to find his replacement next year... great... another draft pick on a linemen... wish we could trade him to Cleveland for Mack...

  4. You guys should write a letter to philbin demanding he is cut immediately.

Oh, great. Now Hickey is talking about giving Pouncey a greater leadership role and that he and Albert are taking our two new rookie OL players "under their wing." An unremorseful guy with a history of bad judgment should not be a team leader, IMO.

"Against this backdrop, Pouncey, a Pro Bowl selection last season, is being continually given more leadership and prominence on the Dolphins."

"General manager Dennis Hickey has mentioned how Pouncey and Albert are taking rookie tackle Ja’Wan James and rookie guard Billy Turner under their wing."

As I have said before.Much ado about very little.Yes he lacks criteria but thats not really a requisite for a football player. No criminal activity has been proven.

He is not going to be traded over this .He would be traded if he didnt fit the scheme or if he becomes a poor teammate or disses his coaching staff. That hasnt happened yet.

No they exercised the 5th year option for next year....as well I would bust his balls and tag him in 2016....

In that time I would deal him for the best available package.....but if they do the above essentially they dont need a replacement until 2017....

They might need a replacement for game 1 if he keeps jawing off at the NFL and the psych evaluation.

Goodell has a history of suspending players who don't comply with the NFL's wishes.

In any event if he turns up at the psych eval and says he is truly humble and sorry the psych will report that he's lying. If he goes in and says he isn't sorry then the psych eval says he hasn't learned anything which opens the door for discipline.

Pouncey has just put himself into a good old fashioned catch-22 despite every possible warning sign and one that even with a thimbleful of intelligence he could have seen coming.

Pouncey is a more of a follower than a leader. Best Miami can do is hope that with Albert in the fold, it will help Pouncey out.

Did nothing wrong? So grabbing "Player A" (whom they regularly accused of being gay and for all they knew, actually could have been) in the shower and restraining him while John Jerry simulated butt sex isn't wrong?

Remind me not to shower with you. :)

    A refresher:

Pretty sure he proved to be a bad teammate to the fellow younger Offensive Linemen.

Exactly, meanwhile Aldon Smith plead no contest to a DUI and 3 felonies, Pouncey is at most guilty of being insensitive, which is actually a positive trait in a pro athlete

Putting Incognito in a leadership position was like asking the fox to take care of the chickens .He was the negative leader and instigator and fear is one of their weapons .The other OL were the followers .Perhaps they even feared Cogs and were victims of his bullying too.

yes, he was an immature butthole. But I never underestimate the negative influence someone like Cogs can have on a younger person. I personally have seen examples of people I've recruited over the years that when you remove the negative influence, they can grow up and be fully functional within your team. One specific example of a scientist that made my wife's life hell at a former company - his fellow employees didn't enjoy working with him. I met him and realized that his manager was such a prick that he had brought out the worst in this kid. My wife called me a f*#$in idiot for recruiting him, despite his talent level. I brought him to my company and he flourished and within months became the best leader on my team.

I'm not saying Pouncey will improve and stop making this politically incorrect statements. But he's extremely talented and the negative force that is Cogs is gone. So there's a CHANCE that he could do well in an environment sans-Incognito and replaced with Brandon Albert. I'd much rather take that chance and keep the all-pro center than trade him away and go back to the garbage we had at center before.

Good leadership and good decisions start at the top and trickle down.

    So do bad ones.

BTW, did anyone catch hernandez when he entered the courtroom yesterday? Did you see how hard he was "ice-grilling" someone in there? Probably the family members of one of his victims. So here you have someone shackled, in court with his future on the line yet he still finds time to "keep it hood."

I don't think you can be desperate to trade him because I don't think anybody's going to trade anything for him. You let him play out his contract and don't sign him to another one. He becomes somebody else's problem then. If he's able to straighten up without Incognito's influence (that's something I'll acknowledge is possible no matter how unlikely I believe it to be), you sign him then.

    Well away from here
Too bad Al Davis isn't still around. Just convince him Pouncey can run in 4.7's and he'd likely be all over it. Otherwise, I'd like to think the NFL has gotten smarter in recent years, though I may be wrong though.
