Philbin 28th? Ehh...sounds about right. Belichick and Carroll 1 and 2. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/sto...ichick-carroll-coughlin-tomlin-allen/slide/28
What's worse, if you put any stock in this "writer's" evaluation is that the only coaches he considers "worse" than Philbin are the new NFL head coaches inheriting bad teams. My opinion - I'm pretty neutral on Joe Philbin right now but this guy loses all credibility when he ranks Jim Caldwell 16th.
He had Mike Tomlin listed at 5. That is a joke itself. Philbin is closer to where he actually be then Tomlin. I'd say both Tomlin and Philbin should be in the early 20's.
ranking means nothing. While I would by no means put PHilbin in the top half of coaches, you wonder if the what the perception would be if we had squeaked into the playoffs last season. my guess is that if that had happened, Philbin would be around 15. and while Philbin does deserve some portion of criticism for the team choking in the last 2 games, the players also need to absorb some of that blame.
