I think that is wishfull thinking, I'd be willing to part ways. Let Houston pay for that 5 year deal.
If Bosh goes, I am reminded of what Wade said after the Celtics bounced the Heat in the first round. http://www.slamonline.com/nba/wade-this-will-be-my-last-first-round-exit-for-a-while/ I'm not sure Wade has the stomach for a losing team.
Honestly...I'd try to sell him on the idea. Hard. 1) He would be an instant hero and savior to most of Miami. 2) Stepping into the shoes of your biggest peer and winning a title in the city he deserted? That is the stuff of legends right there. 3) He could be guaranteed to be a winner immediately. Even if he trusts Phil it will take time and he isn't getting younger. I doubt he would come, but give him the hard sell.
Carmelo is a very, VERY selfish man. No matter that he's made tens of millions already—he wants that $129M max deal, so the only way the Heat get him is to give up a comparable, max asset. The only guy we have like that is Bosh. I'd trade Wade for 'Melo on max deals before Phil Jackson could thank the Buddha, but there's no chance of that happening. And with that...Ima go drink now. I'll check in once in a while.
Good to read yall movin past Bron leaving and onto whats important...how we keep Cleveland home during the finals.
Okay this is the part that irks me about Lebrons letter. Makes me sick. I don't think he understands the Miami mindset at all. Right or wrong, you leave us and we are not your home in any capacity. Want to add I don't dislike or hate him for this, but you are not part of Miami anymore. Sorry.
It's a buddy and money league. We were lucky Wade was able to pursuade his buddy leBron who just happened to be the best player in the league to come down here. has nothing to do with Riley or Miami or Heat. rebuilding will be like it always was, no easy answers.
Good. Do you have any knowledge of what we are even -trying- to do. You mentioned emergency calls? Anyone in particular player wise?
Jameer Nelson, and keep Cole would be the most cost-effective option. Please, PLEASE don't re-sign Chalmers. Might as well just officially tank if that's the case. But yeah, you need a real C to rotate with Oden, to free up Bosh's superraptorpowers. Asik? Entice Gasol with $$$?
Miami made that choice, not Zo. Not to mention it was an entirely different situation considering his health issues.
We were his UNIVERSITY???!!! Oooooooo, I haven't been ****ing, boiling mad until this. What a ********er!
Two sides to every choice. Zo signed as a free agent with the Nets. He could have simply retired before signing elsewhere. But he left.
Basically: Thanks for teaching me how to be a winner, thanks for helping me grow up, I love you guys....but I don't want to be here anymore and I'm taking all you did for me somewhere else.
I don't get this train of thought that the Heat drafted Napier just to make LeBron happy. When has Riley EVER done anything like that?
You can't fault a guy for going somewhere else when he still feels he has something left in the tank. You're comparing two entirely different situations. Zo was always loved by Heat fans and would have been accepted back any time. I can tell you that most people down here don't want Lebron back. EVER.
Wonder if Bron set up the Heat..had them believing he would be returning...just to leave them in as bad as shape as possible..purely from a competitive way.
They absolutely overspent on Napier to appease LeBron. Also, they drafted Napier expexting to keep everyone and lose Chalmers. Napier sucks and does not help in any way current situation when holes are bigger elsewhere.
You can paint it however you want, the fact is I don't hate Lebron or dislike him. I do however know for fact he handled this situation poorly behind the scenes and led our franchise on never telling them he met with Gilbert or that he was serious about moving on until the very last minute. Bottom line is that Miami no longer wants him for that fact, not because he left.
