Third option or not, the point is he's far from proven and that's not even taking into account his psyche, which is the biggest question mark. Talented, but too risky to give up on a bigger fish for IMO.
Sweet southpaw stroke. Equal 3pt game to Bosh, but a better passer I think. Bosh smoother in the post. The only failing I see coming is if Spo decides to use them both at the 5 primarily.
Per Marc Stein, Dwyane Wade received a no-trade clause in his new contract. Not that we ever would've traded him, but he's one of only 6 players to have one.
Looks to me McBob is a natural 5 and will start with Bosh at 4. And they are both good shooters and athletic af. Should be fun to watch.
I wonder why it's taking so long on the Bosh deal announcement. It makes me think that they're looking at some option. How amazing would it be if he goes back and takes a pay cut to bring a guy like Boozer in?
Wouldn't surprise me. If Bosh takes a little less we can cobble together a reasonable bid for Boozer. And there's no rush to sign Bosh. He can agree to "X" dollars if we get Boozer. If we don't, he gets the max. Would not surprise me at all if that's what's going on.
If the Dwyane Wade from before the Big 3 still exists then I agree. If that's the Wade we're getting then this team is the best in the East. It's impossible to know that right now.
Will not trash Stephenson I wanted him pretty badly. He needs to reel in his antics sone but there is no denying his talent.
Yes he did. Probably more important for him since he's signed long term and Phil has never seemed completely thrilled with him.
Oh, I'm not trashing him by any means. I wanted the Heat to take a shot at him. But I would not give up the chance to give a max contract in 2016 on a gamble on Stephenson.
McBob looks to me to have stronger game around the basket, reminds me of Divac or some more athletic centers. He looks to me like a natural 5 even tho he is listed as a PF. Bosh was always a natural PF to me, slight frame, difficult for him to bang inside.
We don't seem all that concerned about a "natural" 2 guard to backup Wade. I think you'll see a combination of Rio/Granger there. When wade misses games I'd bet Rio starts for him along with Cole or PG to be named later, with Granger just playing a generic "wing" position. I think they want Boozer and are holding off bosh to see if they can get him. Bosh/Booszer/Deng/Wade/Rio is a really good starting 5, with McBob/Granger/Bird as your core 8.
And with Rush signing with GS, it does potentially give them some room to move on their "no Thompson for Love" stance
I think being dissatisfied with the details of his departure, especially how he treated the Heat organization at the end--making Riley and Elisburg fly out to Vegas when Lee Jenkins had already been contacted, zero contact with Spo, recruiting against the Heat before announcing--is wholly legitimate and in no way indicative of any sort of Preparation H application. I agree that working in jabs about his character, situation, etc is unnecessary and silly. Except for his entourage. Those guys are fair game, IMO. I think without LeBron to play the 4, Bosh at the 5 has lost its appeal.
It should be their plan with questions about Wade's health. You cannot go into the season without a true 2 behind Wade IMO. I fully expect that deal to get done. It just makes too much sense for the Warriors. Thompson is a nice player, but Love could be a difference maker for them.
You forgot Ennis, I think he'll get some minutes. In any case, don't count on Boozer, it's going to be hard for him to clear waivers.
If bosh takes a little less we can put together a bid. I think that's why they're waiting on Bosh announcement
I think Wade is getting a bum rap for a few games in the Finals which is the last thing everyone saw this year. He's not getting enough credit for being superb in the playoffs prior to the Finals, and for being extremely efficient during the season.
Don't think so. Heat are already over the cap regardless of if Bosh takes less or not. His cap hold is $20M
It's not possible for us to bid on Boozer because a team must have cap space in order to submit a bid. Bosh's cap hold is a part of us being over the cap.
The biggest worry to me is that Wade didn't have his explosion. There was a play in either the second or third round where Chalmers lobbed an alley oop and Wade didn't even go up for it. Just looked at Chalmers like are you kidding me? In the old days that would have been a thunder dunk. Hurt to see it to be honest. Maybe he will regain some explosion in the offseason. With the usage he will see next year his efficiency is going to go down.
So Heat would actually have to sign him for less to clear cap hold before placing the bid, and it all has to happen within next 24 hours.
I agree with this. But I'm seeing a lot of character assassination. I also don't have a problem with him having Riley and Elisburg fly out to Vegas to make him a pitch at staying. Just because he'd contacted Jenkins doesn't mean his mind was made up yet. He was a free agent. It was up to the team to woo him and he was in Vegas for a youth camp he was running. I don't see the problem there. As for not contacting Spo yet, I think again we just take peoples word at face value and Spo said it himself things are hectic right now and I'm sure there will be a time for that. Not sure what you're referring to by "recruiting against the Heat". Mike Miller? He was never going back to Miami. Actually I think he's not allowed, is he?
Not yet. Per Albert Random, since Haslem hasn't signed yet (which is true), we're a shade over $1 million under the cap, which might be just enough to make a bid.
I'm not discrediting him for a bad 5 games. I wonder if he's still able to be as super efficient as he was last year without the best player on the planet being the focus of the opposing defense. I think that's a fair question to ask.
It's going to have to be for a lot less because there is also the Haslem cap hold to count in this scenario. Just not gonna happen.
So there you go. But the way he explained it yesterday left no doubt that it couldn't happen. He must've learned something between then and now.
Is Manu Ginobili explosive? Was Paul Pierce EVER explosive? Hell even LeBron James clearly lost some of his explosiveness this year. Players get older, their game evolves, they don't necessarily become bad players.
No, Haslem signs for the room exception after we're physically over the cap. And the team renounced Haslem's rights yesterday, freeing up his cap hold.
Supposedly, Charlotte is making a big push for Boozer. I tell ya what...i like what MJ has done these last 2 years. Big Al, Lance, Kemba, Boozer, Gary Neal, MKG, Marvin Williams, Vonleh, and Gerald Henderson is a damn good squad, especially in the east.
I don't see how that can be possible. Heat have like $23M in the books with Deng, McRoberts, Chalmers, Granger, Cole and Hamilton. Plus Wade's $17M approximately, plus Bosh's cap hold, plus Birdman's cap hold, Napier I think also has a cap hold. Don't see how they are under cap. Even if they did renounced Haslem's cap hold.
