I wonder. I happen to think he's a major talent hidden in all that schmoozy-faux charm, but can he pull off a straight role?
The one I'll likely not be able to stomach, if the rumors are true, is Colin Farrell. I've never liked him in anything.
I've only walked away from a couple handfuls of movies over the years; 'In Bruges' was one. Bored. The living piss. Out of me. In the nearly-sixty minutes I watched, it managed to engage me with NOTHING about it; not even the sublimely beautiful setting. The characters were total wastes of literary lives.
Holy hell, it's a Martin Mcdonagh script! The man is a pure dark comedy genius! He's written the most hilarious dark-humor plays since Shakespeare. You really owe it to yourself to finish that movie. It's probably his best work next to the Pillowman...that was a total brain **** of a script. Like everyone else, I hate Colin Farrell in everything....,except In Bruges. Damn I need to rewatch that...
After Season 1, I think fans of the show really should give the benefit of doubt to the writers/director/producers here. And this is coming from someone who really has no opinion of Colin Farrell, I don't like or hate him. I think people will be surprised by Vaughn though. Excited to see what's in store for season 2.
I really don't mind Farrel that much either. I don't think I've seen Vaughn in something serious or at least dark. I felt letdown by the last couple of episodes... Very much wait and see for me on this
Nice trailer yesterday before GoT. So it's completely unrelated to season 1, other than it's a show about cops... ?
From that trailer alone it looks like Colin Farrell is a playing a cop that is just about to lose it.
