The offensive line is definitely on watch tonight. I think it's important that they quiet some of the doubt. Thing is, you could almost say that no matter what they do as long as they don't give up 6 sacks on Ryan Tannehill's 10 snaps, people are going to take some good from their showing regardless. Last year Jonathan Martin needed to show in preseason that he was a different player from 2012. He looked almost exactly the same in preseason 2013 but I remember having arguments with people who were insistent that he looked tremendously improved in the preseason. So outside of doing something objectively catastrophic I think the OL's play is still going to be subject to the eye of the beholder thing. Even so, for my sake, my eye of me the beholder, I'd like to see something from the OL that I think could be built upon. Aside from that, I'm looking for indications of how this offense is going to be fundamentally structured from Bill Lazor's standpoint. The next priority will be young players, looking for signs of genuine NFL talent.
CK, what do you think is more important tonight, (for our OL), pass protection or running lanes? Can we get 30 yards rushing from our first team OL tonight?
Apparently there is no evidence against our Pouncey but there might be for his brother in the battery case, check Pouncey thread for details but it's good news, now lets get his *** back by week 3
Pass protection, for a few reasons. You don't expect the Atlanta Falcons to throw a lot at the Dolphins from a blitzing/exotic look standpoint. You're just going to have one team's guys lining up across from another team's guys and the offensive line needs to win those battles far more than not. If they're struggling that way then it's a bad indication of the foundation upon which the team's passing scheme will be built. Given the lack of game planning, I think run success or failure could be relatively unimportant. And since ground blocking generally takes more chemistry and synchronization, you expect that to gel over time anyway. But pass pro in tonight's game should be more of a "Can you do this, or can you not?" thing. Especially since Atlanta isn't exactly boasting a set of all stars in the pass rush department. They've got one of the weakest pass rush units I've found looking through NFL rosters.
Last year Miami had a problem blocking a standard 4 man rush. IMO, if they show they can block a standard 4 man rush this preseason, they will show some improvement. It wouldn't surprise me if they have problems with stunts and blitzes.
If you sign up at the NFL.com website punch in directv for a promo code and it's 15 bucks...best deal ever.
If only the NFL didn't try and screw it's Canadian/outside of the US fans... preseason live isn't an option for me, they only offer us the full season option at $274.99 or something stupid like that. I tried signing up last night using a US VPN to trick the site... it was looking like that was going to work, until I realized how much slower everything was. boo... Hope I can find something online tonight or I'm waiting till the replay.
Just what the league needs... to make it even easier to pass the ball. They all but eliminated the kickoff return last year, no running backs picked in first round of the draft and now preaching even tougher restrictions on DB's. Pretty soon the league should add a P to it's title and go with 'National Forward Pass League.'
Does that show games lives? If so, I wish they gave that option to the US for more than people who can't get Direct TV.
I buy it every year. $279 is for all features including coaching cams, telestrator feature, playoff games, all year access, etc. I get the $229 package which has red zone, live streaming, archived games as far back as'09 I believe, and coaches cam on select plays. No playoffs and subscription ends in the playoffs (if memory serves me correctly). I would like to use the coaches cam, but I am not as dedicated to the intricacies as other people here and probably wont find $50 justification for it.
Hey....I was checking out one of the places you can go to see live sports....one thats been used by alot...and it now says I have to download some new Codec to gain access to the site....something called fastmediaconverter... Does anyone know if this is a legit thing or not?
DONT download any pop up or suggestion to upgrade You can watch on those sites without any additional downloads. Try a few places , see what feed is best.
Let me reiterate....DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING. Even the legit looking Adobe Flash upgrades that are necessary, etc. Keep searching until you find one that doesn't need any DLs. And when done, it is a good idea to run adaware and virus scans.
Last time I was in jersey there was a garbage strike going on. They finally caved and went back to after 3 months of not picking up anyone's trash and they realized nobody noticed they weren't working. As for me when I got there and that stench assaulted my offactory I thought to myself "yup I've entered jets country"
If anyone is able to find a link for anything for me to watch tonight, that'd be appreciated. Just PM me!
I would bench jones and Jordan.. I wanna see mike Thomas start, he won a game for us single handedly, it's his time to step up and who knows, maybe allow us to move on.
Yeah... But I already get NFL Sunday ticket here with my satellite service. So its stupid for me to pay for that and the streaming on NFL.com. its insane they don't just offer a preseason package.
Looking forward to it tonight. Pretty tired, but hope on staying up for the full game. Football is finally back!
Jordan needs game reps , he's missing a quarter of the season as it is , when he comes back we don't need another month to get him acclimated.
Not sure I agree, give me reps to the guys that will be playing to start the season, not playing a player or role that won't be there for the first four games. It's what practice is for.
