Could be a trade candidate if SVG isn't that interested. Cole and filler gets it fine since neither is a tax team
It's a return to the Cavs overload we had in 2008 and 2009. LeBron is the draw, and that's fine, he deserves to be. But seriously, the Wizards? After the offseason they've gone through? That's a middle finger from the schedule maker, IMO.
What's the point? This is why we get upset. What relevance to Heat fans have to any discussion today? Is it in the context of the schedule? Also Sec, can we trade for Monroe without a S&T, meaning we just trade for his QO salary? If we did that would we have Bird rights for next year?
At his qualifying offer..Greg Monroe might be the best asset in all of Basketball. Maybe Anthony Davis on his rookie deal is slightly better?
I think Detroit is exploring trying to keep him on a short deal with a wink wink promise of a big deal in 16'. I doubt he takes it. it might be to his advantage and others to hog 2015 cap space from some team.
or they don't think they are losing him. At his QO, they can get ANY rental they want anywhere in the league.
True but he has to want to go to the team making the offer. If he wobt resign there I doubt the team will make a deal. Sort of like Love
But the team that acquires him loses his Bird Rights so I'm not sure anyone is going to give up much for him, right?
Random side note - this is the 3rd straight year the Cavs' opener will be on my wedding anniversary - so I have some pretty big decisions to make soon.
Knicks Cavs season opener.... Melo slimmed down, finally a good coach, Timmy J a year better!!! Cavs are too young, don't play enough defense or will have enough chemistry, soooo Knicks 111 Cavs 106
Looking forward to it! Can't believe we have 25 national TV games, such a change from one in the last two seasons.
What a weird situation in Detroit with Monroe. Such a talented big in the post or facing up at the elbow, can play with the ball in his hands a lot and make slick passes. He's only 24! I guess they'll keep starting him with Drummond? Or do they go with Josh Smith at the 4? How likely is it he plays the whole season there under that small contract?
Teams with most national tv appearances next season (ABC, ESPN, TNT, NBATV): 1. OKC and LAC - 32 3. CHI - 30 4. CLE - 29 5. LAL - 28 (smh) 6. HOU, GSW, SAS - 25 9. NYK, POR - 23 11. MIA - 20 . . . . . Indiana - 8 (wow)
Great...once Rose blows his knee again we will have to suffer through 30 games of 77-75 scores and Noah running up the court spitting something nobody can understand.
Bill Simmons.....LOFL. "Heat got away with tampering" (uh..players can talk to each other) "NBA owed Cleveland." I guess 3 #1 overall picks are not enough? among other things....(BS) he said. This is the guy that will be plastered all over sportscenter and have his own show next year. FS1 can;t get their NBA deal soon enough.
Dec 25 Cavs @ Heat ABC Feb 11 Heat @ Cavs ESPN Mar 16 Cavs @ Heat ESPN Apr 2 Heat @ Cavs TNT Four games, all nationally televised. Expecting some stories in the national media about how there's bad blood between LeBron and Wade/Bosh/Heat. Skip Bayless is already pushing this, and he seems to be on Wade's side.
Well, according to Ethan the whole band will be back together August 30 for Wade's wedding. Think the table assignments were changed? I can just imagine LJ's face as he finds his little name card, walks to the table and there's Bosh, Riley, Spoelstra and Arison
This is what you get when you listen to Bill Simmons kids, you get dumber. Guy is worse then drugs. His silliness can fry your brain within seconds. This is your brain This is your brain on Bill Simmons Any questions?
Simmons actually is a talented writer. Don't know why he's made himself into a professional troll. One thing he is not is a compelling tv/radio presence. He's awful in those roles and stuff that's funny when written is annoying on tv.
Didn't Riley meet with LeBron and do the "drop his rings on the table" stunt during LeBron's last season in Cleveland? I thought that's what started the whole campaign to change his number from 23.
No. That occurred during Riley's free agency meeting with LeBron, not before LeBron was a free agent.
No, dropping the rings on the table was during the official recruitment visit in Cleveland. They did meet briefly before a game where Riley told him that he thought Jordan's number should be retired league wide and then LJ decided to change his number. That's the extent of the "tampering". Far worse to host a player during a jersey retirement ceremony for his friend strategically scheduled so said player could attend while on a road trip. But of course, no one cares about that.
I think Simmons writes good opinion pieces. However when he tries to pass them off as fact its ridiculous.
