Basically we have a situation where some people have made b!tching about other posters on the message board into their hobby, whining just to hear themselves whine.

Can you define quite a few? How many are you talking about here? By my count there are maybe 3 posters - some of which I'm not even sure aren't goof accounts or just people trolling, that have logged anything close to all of the complaints you mention.

You do tend to lump people into one broad group, even though very few fit the image of the poster you are trying to create. I know because you've done it to me. Because of my views on Ireland, you've associated me with many other negative views that I never had.

What? Come on dude. People have been *****ing about those things Fin D mentioned for months. There is definitely truth to what he's saying. I don't have a problem with people complaining all that much, because even though it gets annoying as all hell, they're valid problems.

Ck, I understand you're point about the O-Line shuffling, but isn't that the whole point of training camp and preseason? To have competition and find the best 5 you can?

    That's absolutely not true.

My post has nothing to do with people that think "some" of those things. Hell, I thought some of those things. I'm on record being in favor of getting rid of Ireland, Sherman, and fixing our oline. I'm very clearly talking about people who think ALL of those things and there are plenty on here. You seeing them or not has no basis on the reality if they exist. I also can't list them else I'll get infracted.

Not necessarily. The point of training camp and preseason is to practice and get better. The point of having coaches and a front office evaluating is to evaluate them and make decisions. They're not evaluating, they're experimenting and waiting for the evaluation to become obvious.

If the end result here is Shelley Smith at RG and Billy Turner at LG then I'll have probably a teensy bit more concern about pass pro than if it were the other way around, but so be it.

Just wish they didn't take four weeks to get to that.

Actually longer since Daryn Colledge is still the LG.

Man if it weren't for jones and Jordan letting their team down, we'd be one healthy football team.

It appears Will Davis' strong two weeks of practice has entrenched him as the third cornerback.Davis has some strong ball skills. Finesse CB

    Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly · 32s
I was talking to some of the best football minds I deal with earlier today & they brought up that physical CBs might be phased out of NFL

    Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly · 26s
Think about it. If you can't touch a WR after the 5-yard cushion, why do you need a physical CB? They can't be physical.

Grimes and Davis, not overly physical, good zone corners, maybe advantage dolphin in the big picture of what Goodell is to dumb to see.

I think it was MrClean that said Taylor got just about the same amount of reps that Davis did. The fact that we didn't know that is good thing. A great thing actually.

The weird part of Omar's tweets there is this implication that the reason Will Davis is leap-frogging over Jamar Taylor is because of this newfound trend toward finesse corners rather than physical ones.

That's actually pretty confounding. Will Davis has been flagged twice this preseason in two games. Jamar Taylor has been flagged once and the penalty was declined. Jamar Taylor is not nor has he ever been a physically aggressive corner that stays in a guy's hip pocket and uses his hands. Taylor has always allowed a lot of space. It's Will Davis who has that history of being in the guy's hip pocket and using his hands in ways that could end up flagged...and indeed he's already had that happen twice in two preseason games.

Can't make a play if the ball isn't thrown your way. If you got your guy covered then the ball probably isn't coming your way.

This is true, though it'd be nice to see what Taylor can/can't do when the ball is coming his way. I was a bigger fan of his than Will Davis after the '13 Draft, but with all those injuries I feel like he's more of a question mark at this point in time. We know that Will Davis can make plays on the ball, and we know that that may end up costing him; give and take for a "riverboat gambler" type of corner. Jamar Taylor...that's still up in the air, to me at least.

    Groin injuries are the worst.

I expect Sturgis to be pretty much screwed this year minus a trip to Germany.

Potentially another spot opening on the 53 man roster. Is there a chance that they would get rid of John Denney to make room for someone else?
I love Denney, I think we all do.. just asking thoughts/opinions?

    Well away from here
I'd certainly take it. We do need a ball hawk in the secondary and have done for some time, basically since Brock Marion left. That guy was good for 4-5 picks a year when he played.

I love how I'm the only one that groups people together on this forum all of a sudden. Its really interesting. I mean its not like you've ever said things about liberals or Jets fans right? No of course.

Also, I'll say this again, I was talking about a very specific group of people that met a specific criteria. Criteria I clearly put in a bulleted list that anyone should be able to read.

Agree. Davis is relatively easy to assess, Taylor is a mystery to me, I can't really get a feel for what kind of CB he is much less how good he will be. Need to see more of him.

Theyre using a bunch of diff combos, I dunno the rhyme or reason for it, no use trying to play mind reader, when the season starts we'll see what they've come up with and judge from there.

I thought so to, I dont think he's done anything bad, I haven't seen him beat in preseason have you? Will Davis is just ballin his *** off..it's all good, I was pimpin taylor this offseason, I still think he will have an increased role and play well.

I think this is from Barry Jackson today, but apparently Jamar Taylor ended practice as the 3rd CB after Will Davis got beat by Kevin Cone for a TD.

Per Schefter on Twitter just now, and I assume this is as good a place as any to post it.

NFL & NFLPA have agreed to expand practice squads from 8 to 10 players in 2014 and 2015.

Now official: NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed to expand Practice Squads to 10 players 2014 and 2015 seasons.
